We had a terrible first half but completely bossed the second, not giving you a chance to do anything

Everything felt so plastic about the club, yes a nice sports bar but half the people in there were suit types. I've never seen a group of fans so happy they lost a game!

They had a drum which they used a couple of times each half, not that you could hear fans singing with it though. "2022 be a part of the journey" on every cup, is that when moneybags owner packs it in a sods off elsewhere?

The atmosphere is shite and it's always been like that. I don't know how many people work for the club but you see loads of them wearing the Fylde staff clothing and basically swanning around like they own the gaff. It's a recurring comment against our club about the owner jacking it in and if he does he does there's nothing I can do about it. So far though he's been excellent in everything he's done.

Last season was the first that BBC stopped doing it. Think the Sky Sports Centre app also started only updating at HT and FT.

Up to then, you could get scores as you would the FL.

The Sky Sports app still has live updates and goal flashes - well it does for Wrexham games anyway. But only for league games and not for the FA Trophy.

The stadium is one of those flat pack piles of shit. The high roofs on the shallow stands, make the roofs little more than decoration and unfit for purpose, i.e. keeping the rain off the punters. There are a lot of small time, modern stadiums with this feature and I'm amazed the architects keep on getting away with it. Then again, the stadium only has to last as long as the club, so it makes sense not to worry about stuff like that. :£

Our win against Maidenhead was as convincing as you'll see and they were fortunate to escape with only a 2-0. Bignot had one training session with the players and the difference was just enormous, just by allowing the players to actually try and win the game.

I've said since the beginning of this season that our 11 isn't actually a bad little side, comfortably good enough to stay well clear of the drop. Those same players have been hampered by Jon McCarthy's bizarrely negative, cautious and infuriating tactics. Take Lathaniel Rowe-Turner and Andy Halls, our full backs, as the perfect example. Under JM, I'd not seen them once cross the half-way line and when they received the ball, they had not one blue shirt in any kind of space. They were expected to launch it up the other end and get back in position for the resulting goal kick. On Saturday, they were both different players. They were a threat going forward and just played like footballers with an understanding of their role and a bit of confidence.

It's very early days, but Bignot is ticking the boxes. He was a presence on the sideline and gave the players the confidence boost they've needed all season. I really do think we'll beat Eastleigh on Saturday now and it feels brilliant to say so after the McCarthy era, where we were told to sit down, shut up and pray for 50 points.

FlashScores updates as soon as the goals go in for Conference and above. I stopped using the Sky Sports app at the beginning of last season.

Sometimes they get a bit excited and award goals before checking if they've been disallowed.

The betting apps are quick and accurate for goals, even if you don't plan to bet anything.

Happened to us last season when they informed us Solihull had 'equalised' in the 96th minute against Lincoln.

I was halfway home from Woking when I discovered the truth. Gutted.

^ That one got me, too!

But yeah, I used Flash Scores last season. Switch between that and Futbol24.

Aye, Devonshire came out afterwards and said as much, said they were flattered by that score line.

I think anyone would struggle under McCarthy’s tactics, nine months of playing the defensive role in attack v defence training sessions pretty much. He didn’t handle the pressure well either, lost a few games around January time and just got deeper and more defensive with each passing game. What he had us doing in these opening eight games in particular was the most extreme defensive football I’ve seen.

Can’t get carried away after one game but it was certainly an encouraging start for Bignot.

I always wonder how all the apps update so quickly - is there literally someone sitting at each game?!
