Take a point. Thankfully Charlton couldn't hit a barn door and their antics caught up with them when we got the penalty.

Brilliant Slade.

Once again manages to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory with his line-up and quite frankly, bizarre substitutions.

He is so out of his depth it's untrue, hopefully he hasn't got long left.

That was dreadful. Think it's fair to say we won't be in the play offs for much longer.

No pace, no directness, no strength. Everything is slow.

Other than the penalty, did we have a shot?

2 goals in 5 games now, both penalties. We are completely clueless going forward and starting to look shaky at the back.

So taking off a striker for a striker and a winger for a winger is bizarre?

Finally back in Leicestershire.

Really poor, main positive is we got a point despite a really poor performance (4 points in 3 whilst being poor in truth)

Easily by far the weakest 11 we've fielded this season... pretty much on a par with our check a trade trophy line ups bar Grant and missing key players like Foley, Thomas, Forrester and Purkiss at once was always going to make it difficult. 4 centre halves across the back line, left back on one flank and striker on the other and are throwing a kid who was playing for Kidsgrove three weeks ago to try and rescue things BUT why not play Hart at left back? Start Kelly who's a winger? Too many square pegs in round holes.

Once we went 4-4-2 and more direct we looked much better and despite being useless half the time I thought Big Reg caused them problems (he's like an octopus!). Charlton spent the second half time wasting and being cynical without the referee really getting a grip of it but clear penalty and if greedy could of nicked an unlikely winner when Rudd spilt the ball but Jones couldn't get the clean hit on it.

A better side would of panned us tonight though we got away with one there but hopefully a huge confidence boost and if we can get some players back for Saturday that would be nice!

How on earth have we got a point, mugged them off.
As VF16 alluded to arguablly our weakest line up, missing 4 defo starters ( Purk, Foley, Thom, Forres ) , we are in the midst of awful form and yet cling on to 6th spot.
5 points off automatic and 6 points off relegation, crazy .

Do I think bringing off our three most influential players is bizarre? Yes.

Do I think bringing off one of these influential players for a left back when Port Vale were offering zero threat going forward is bizarre? Yes.

Do I think bringing off Lookman for the kid Hanlan when we have last seasons top scorer sat on the bench is bizarre? Yes.

Also explain to me why Harry Lennon is starting ahead of the impressive Ezri Konsa at centre half.

It's woeful, and his post-match comments did absolutely nothing to endear himself to me, he needs to take some responsibility rather than having a go at fans and throwing his players under the bus. Got no time for him, it's becoming more and more evident that he is nothing more than another puppet.

Can we have Ajose back in Jan?

You might aswell, he spends his whole time sat on the bench as Slade has absolutely no idea how to play him properly.

I must admit I was amazed when he(Slade) took off the two wingers who had caused us all sorts of problems but Charlton should have won the game in the 1st half but seemed content with 1-0 when really they should have put the game out of sight. Another point nearer safety for us (forget promotion) and that with half a team out.

Charlton's number 11 looked a good player, mightily impressive display! Very relieved when you took him off!

We robbed a point last night, very disappointing performance.

Such a shit hole of a ground, did we go back to the 80s?

Bit rich Lamby knocking it, i went Palace and West Ham back in the day to watch Vale play Charlton when you had to borrow a ground due to the grass being 50 foot high and the Valley dilapidated.

Lamby is one of these that loves breeze block lego grounds... (not been although will be next month but I always assumed Charlton was a more traditional ground?)

It is, although slightly more modernised now since the redevelopment during the Premier League days.

Yes, Lamby is the type who cares not for traditional football grounds or how football clubs are run so long as he gets a nice comfortable seat and a lovely little poster in his programme.

Didn't go last night but have been twice and Vale Park is one of those 'shitholes' that I love going to.

Big Reg will come good you mark my words!

I'd love him too! If only he'd slotted that 1 on 1 v Millwall away we may have a different player right now!

Clear penalty! One of two we could have got after Big Reg was rugby tackled on the goal line a few minutes before.

Definite penalty, looks like we should have had one ourselves in the first half for a clear handball but whatever.
