We were in a relegation battle last season. Literally, last season.

About time. Bet you enjoyed it.

To be fair, when we were beating Liverpool a couple years back, I couldn't really enjoy it. I was sat wishing we'd had three exciting relegations like Stockport.

In the FA Cup. Do you get excited for seasons or nervous? You always finish like 15th anyway, at least with us we know we're in for an entertaining season.

I know we're shite but I'd never swap places with Stockport county. Absolutely criminal where you lot are. I've played alongside lads who are playing for clubs you'll be facing this season. Proper exciting though eh?

Anyone who hasn't experienced the feeling of finding out who you've drawn in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy doesn't know what excitement is.

This thread is hilarious. Bury fans may also gain some.much needed light relief hereabouts... :)

I think we are looking more likely to do a Stockport eventually. With a bit of an Oldhamesque cock up along the way.

I'm quite surprised people think what I'm saying is ridiculous.

Oldham must be the boring team in the world to support. Every season you know you're not going up or down, apart from the coming season where they'll probably go down, so congrats to them on that. And then when they end up in league two they finally have expectations to get promoted, and have a few exciting seasons whereas in previous years they're expectations are 'stay up'. It's just boring.

Yes we're shit, are part time and struggle against the local postmen of Tamworth and Gainsborough but we know we'll be back and are going to enjoy the ride, with Oldham there is no ride.

Yeah, cause Tranmere are the perfect examples of spending plenty of time in L1, being relegated, and now being closer to you in the football pyramid rather than us, as opposed to bouncing straight back.

When was Stockports last promotion? We're a league club with a brand new stand which will hopefully increase our budget which should increase our chance of some success. The notion that relegation would be a good thing for us is fuckin ridiculous.

When's that going to be then, 2042/43? Starting your fourth season in the 6th tier after an "exciting" 9th placed finish last time out, you're not exactly kicking down the door for promotion are you?

Hurrikeen, after all this banter with Stockport fans have you made your decision on who you will support as I've checked and there is a seat available in our 32000 seater stadium.
And we beat Nuneaton yesterday so everything's rosy atm

I sued to play for Brackley Town way back yonder, aren't they now in Stockports league. I'm sure their is a Conference North/south thread on this site which poses the question why they are on here , or do they have a long standing obsession with Oldham

I can't speak for Sam, but I personally am pretty infatuated with all things Oldham.

Lol. A new stand doesn't transform you into promotion candidates.

We're on our way back. For the first time in years we've got good people running the club and a plan in place to get back, and the right man in charge.

Nothing against Oldham at all, I'm allowed to post on this thread, and I'm giving my opinion.

Oldham and Stockport, two giants of the game.

Lets have it right, who in their right mind would want to support either?

Oi, you c***.

I may have had a little wobble and threatened to move my support elsewhere*, but I wont have comments like that spoken about my club.

*obviously tongue-in-cheek

I ve just noticed that spelling error, all Cov fans are trained lawyers as that's all that happens with our club, court case after court case so I will be representing my self.

Absolutely no one in their right mind would support Stockport County. Which is what makes those of us who do so awesome :cool1:

The glory hunters who want to sit in a shiny new stand and watch one-step-down-from-the-division-below the Premier League can naff off to Oldham.

Lets be honest here, the closest either of us will get to "glory" within the 5-10 years is more likely to be the type you stick your spam javelin into.

Never said promotion candidates, I said a chance of some success, improve us from where we are now. I've just seen Burton Albion get promoted with Lucas Akins and Stuart Beavon upfront for fuck sake.

Speak for yourself. We won the Cheshire Senior Cup just last season. :brill:
