I'm prepared to give Liam O'Neil time. He joined mid way through the season and was played as a holding midfielder when he doesn't "look 'ard" so didn't suit him. Let's see how he gets on with Hatchett Gary next to him. Might free up his game a bit.

But yeah, can't see Roberts getting a game with Coulson back and now Darling coming into the fold.
Trust me.. Give him time he will still not get any better!! A truly awful player haha! He literally lacks in every department, physically, technically... He's just not very good is he!

According to SSN it's between us and Swindon to sign Hartlepool's Nicky Featherstone.

Know very little about him except he's a midfielder...

Sounds like he just needs to score then we'll see the real player he is! He'll probably score against you lot in pre season ;)
Probably, at least I would have seen the scruffy fucker score.

We are linked with a loan for Calum Dyson from Everton. How did he do at Grimsby last season?

Did ok without being outstanding.
Works hard, but for a big lad needs to work on his strength and can go bit missing. Would have thought league 2 was his level at the moment but will probably improve with age and a few more games against men rather than under 23's. Will probably do ok, without being stand out.
Tall, strong, box to box centre mid - describes Pell perfectly. He's arguably our most important player and has two years left on his contract so I'd hope we'd hold out for a decent 6 figure fee, maybe somewhere around 200-300k. Rather he just stayed though.

I would say diving cheating scumbag sums up Pell more accurately. A f8cking embarrassment. It's all about opinions though.

He excels in passing the ball backwards, you may even get the occasional sideways one out of him and he's soft as shite, the only tackle he has is the one between his legs.

He's definitely on the way out, we've just signed another midfielder today.

Don't think we need another defensive midfielder. We have 3. May just be old news as apparently Flitcroft wanted him at Bury.

Agree. Wonder if that's why only a one year contract? Apparently Zavon Hines has been quite impressive on trial. Might be worth a deal and then that should be us more or less there I reckon.
Hines seems to have done well. Neither he or McDermott excite me much but have to trust DF.

I think we'll sign 4 more. CB, RB, R/LW and Striker. Maybe 5 as we don't have a Left Back in reserve.

I don't see Pell going to Chesterfield unless they offer him stupid money. He is very much settled in Cheltenham, and whilst that usually means bugger all, his partner is from Bristol and he has struggled to settle at places before.

A League One club is an entirely different proposition.

They love Danny Wright up that way....

Rumours Dexter Blackstock is on his way to the CG. Hardly prolific and a scummer to boot.

Danny Wright is not an embarrassment. He is just a bell end of the biggest order. Any one who gives there son a middle name of 9 is a bell end of the highest of orders.

Linked to Chris Maxwell of Preston by some random twitter account.

Probably bollocks but would be a fantastic signing.

Any Notts County fans able to shed light on Marc Bola? We've just signed him on a season-long loan.

Very pacy attacking left wing back, was one of the key components in our upturn in form last year (although he was replacing Carl Dickinson so it wasn't that hard to look decent). Very good player though, enjoyed watching him, should find L1 no problem.

Thanks WD, I look forward to seeing him in action for us.

I'd say more than just "probably" bollocks, he didn't miss a single minute of Championship football after breaking into Preston's first team in September.

Bola was quality for us. I do have doubts about how composed he will be when put under real pressure. He's definitely better when attacking. In a Nolan team you take 4 touches max. Will be interesting how he copes if he has more time. Definitely strong enough though

Adam Marriott has confirmed he's left us.

Shame, that. As I've said previously, he'd have been a really good impact sub option for us but he understandably wants to play more. Made a very positive impact last season from the bench with assists and goals.

We're being linked with Matt Tootle of Notts County.

Where does he play at the back?

Tootle is a right back. Fair player, but nothing overly special. Could be some truth in it as Nolan dropped him early on and only picked him towards the end of the season.
Bristol Rivers have signed a gem in Bola. I honestly don't think we conceded a goal from the left when he was playing. Pace to burn, quick feet and just a class above League 2.

I don't think there's any truth in that Tootle rumour. He's a strong rb for this league and despite being dropped early on was a fixture towards the end of the season

Don't see why we would need Tootle. We already have Halliday, who's a very good Right Back for League 2.

It looks like Jevani Brown of St Neots has joined us on trial.
