Would Adkins even be interested in Notts? Not so sure...

It all really hinges on how deep Hardy's pockets are, which no one really knows. Trew had previously hinted they weren't deep enough

Adkins wasn't bothered about the Grimsby job when Hurst left. I'm not sure the vacant post at County would be more appealing than that was.

Depends how much he wants to get back into management, I guess. His stock isn't particularly great at the minute.

The chances of Paul Cox going there are quite high, i think he even said once he'd love to manage a club he played for. And yes he's pals with Hardy... doesn't have the best record in the league though. He's a conference wizard when he's got money.

Cox getting the job just in time for the derby a week on Saturday?

Fuck I didnt know that was the reason for the embargo. Thats really shit.

Trew won't pay another penny so it's hardly surprising that players and the tax man will have to wait until Hardy gets the rubber stamp

It'll be Flitcroft if we can't get Cowley, that is my prediction.

Cowleys are signing new deals next week apparently, so I doubt it'll be them. They actually said they weren't interested full stop.

If pockets are not that deep, could Smith become permanent as the cheap option?

Edinburgh's odds absolutely shot in today, now favourite. Shaun Derry's are tumbling too, bizarrely.

This is Notts. We don't do sensible so it will be McAllister.

No idea why Derrys odds are tumbling. Really can't see that one happening

He said on twitter it was down to two experienced managers. Unless it's referring to the golf club he owns. If it's the former I'm saying Flitcroft and Cox, though would like it to be Flitcroft and Edinburgh.

Also wish he wouldn't tweet about team news. Leave it to the manager.

Gareth Ainsworth now 4/1. How very strange.

never said there was.

we're at it again, no manager should want this set of players. Hardy's going to have to promise them funds for an entire new team.

The bookies haven't got a clue who'll be the next manager, probably because Notts County haven't either.

Thing is that even though the bookies will have no clue, gamblers are always looking to make some easy money and they'll always back the odds on favourite . So the bookies will oblige them and randomly pick out a manager's name, only to choose another guy the next day and make him the new odds on fav, and so on until the club appoints the new man.

Well evans odds dropped sharply at us the day before we got him, so they know something.

Though obviously, aren't always correct

I think I didn't make my post clear enough as I meant they do this random manager's name thing when they have no idea at all. Or at least that's what a guy who spent some time working for Bet365 once told me, but I think it makes sense as it's true that a large number of gamblers go with odds on favs.

It's a brave man takig the job on , or a desperate one with a huge mprtgage and a string of ex wives with kids.
We're a graveyard for decent managers and this time the new man will be starting from a very low base and an awful , awful defence , a midfield short of legs and creativity and a strike force that doesn't look particularly threatening.
The only positive for the next hardy soul is a transfer window, new keen chairman and low expectations.

That's cool, but as I was trying to make clear, sometimes when managers odds do just fall out of "nowhere" there's a reason behind it.

But yeah. I can imagine bookies enjoy throwing random names in it for the sake of it to make some easy money

I really really don't want Flitcroft and that's even with my realist hat on knowing that we can't attract anyone good in our current situation

It doesn't matter who it is, we are down. Westley will keep Newport up. I think we'll nail bottom spot.

It will be interesting to see where the majority of this squad will be in a year. Probably mostly at conference north and south teams

Even if Hardy brings in a new squad there is clearly something very wrong at the club.

Surely Flitcroft would be a better option than Edinburgh?

Bar his last 9 games at Bury his CV is very good, was very unlucky to be sacked at Barnsley and replaced by that horrendous jobber Danny Wilson.

Edinburgh is absolute dog shite.

And who would you prefer in a relegation battle? Honestly?
