Any idea whether he can play against us this season? We certainly won’t be recalling Doyle, unless Vaughan and Donaldson are out injured long-term.
I’m fairly sure he can’t play.

I always forget that dumb rule. Makes things simple then. Recall him and if needs be, sit him on the bench for 5 months. Better than have him fire a rival team to promotion over yours.
I think Bradford’s finances, or FFP, will prevent a recall and paying Doyle £5k per week not to play.

Still maintain that the quality in L2 is fucking horrendous.
I don’t think it’s any better or worse than it’s been since we’ve been down here. Most of the promoted clubs have stayed up and Luton have progressed further.

I do think, though, that there are a handful of proper shite teams.

The only team I truly expected not to be shite were Plymouth and that didn’t go to plan.

If Swindon go up it’s purely because everyone else is shit right?

The quality so far isn't great, teams expected to do well have flopped in the main, Mansfield and Plymouth haven't really got started, Scunthorpe have had a nightmare start, Salford have been incredibly shit and haven't really gone and done what most expected them too, even Bradford haven't had a smooth run yet.

You've ended up with unfancied teams like Crewe and Cheltenham up there so its set to be quite interesting and open.

We've played 7 teams from the top half and the three in the bottom half we have faced are three pre season favourites and I have seen nothing to fear yet.

Will be interesting to see how the league pans out from here.

If we go up it’ll be because we deserve to - like any club.

After Crewe's form in the second half of last season they should always have been one of the dark horses this year.

They should but the bookies didn't fancy it at all.

Because the bookies are freaking clueless. As dedwardp says, one look at our form and the fact we didn't lose any major players should have put us right in the play-off hopeful category.

Cheltenham I'll give you, because I didn't think they recruited that well over the summer. But their existing players have really helped them kick on.

I would agree that L2 is pretty poor this season.

I feel like the top teams have all been promoted and the ones that are left haven't actually improved, but has risen to the top by default. And I include us a little bit in that. Exeter barely made it into the top 7 2 seasons ago and fell out of the race last season. They didn't add much quality yet are now setting the pace. Cheltenham and us, arguably the same. Forest Green seem pretty much the same, a good passing side with a solid defence and weak attack.

Think a lot of the surprise packages have been helped by the fact Northampton, Plymouth and Scunthorpe have all failed to fire so far, plus Mansfield and Stevenage have fallen off a cliff. It's opened up gaps for less fancied teams to capitalise.

I do like the way things are shaping up. Lots of teams should be still in contention for the title, top 3 and top 7 until the end of the season I think.

I think for expectations before the start of the season to where we are now, we must win (unless Scunthorpe had designs on promotion).

Frankly it’s been a complete shitshow from start to finish. Redford was coaxed into promoting john dempster after flitcroft was sacked, something which clearly at present isn’t panning out, the pre-season was a shambles and results have been absolutely pathetic, with the run of fixtures we’ve had in the first 10 games they should be looking at 20 points, not 10!

Alas, there’s no tactics, no idea, no fitness, no communication, no discipline (on or off the field) 2 players got suspended for beating up a youth-team player where the police weren’t involved and 1 was sacked.

we’ve shipped 3 at home to orient and 4 to Cambridge! The same mistakes happen game in game out, we couldn’t beat Morecambe in 2 successive games at home and even drew with bottom of the table Stevenage 0-0

There’s currently a boardroom struggle going on now JR has woken Upto the fact what’s going on back home, and the fans are in disagreement on whether the manager should be sacked or not.

So in general, this season has been a complete disaster to date.

Boardroom struggle ,you live in a different world adam ,you just type some stupid stuff

Well we’ve played 5 of the current top 6 teams and I’ve either been to or watched all games. Exeter are by far the best team we’ve faced.

We are absolutely shit. We’ve got more points than I expected us to have so that’s a positive. We have some decent players but unfortunately we’ve got a really bad manager who specialises in ‘losing the right way’. He should have been sacked in the summer but the idiots running this club decided to keep him on despite the terrible job he did last season. So they are getting what they deserve now. Crap results, crap performances from a poorly coached team which is leading to dwindling crowds and if they are really lucky a relegation at the end of it. They would look even more foolish if they sacked him now so I guess they have to stick with him, which is a shame for us fans who continue to watch and listen to his shite.

2 teams who play proper football.

We’ve yet to face either side so can’t comment but FGR who are also up there played some lovely stuff at our place.

Exeter were far more direct though so a mixed bag.

It's been a disaster start with us. With our squad on paper, we thought we'd be well up there. Alas, football isn't played on paper. Injuries, poor man managment by Hurst and just poor individual performances have all contributes to our terrible start. Smacking Morcambe the other week slightly increased my confidence of staying up as they were horrific. We won't be finishing anywhere above 20th though.

FGR were a typical Mark Cooper team at our place. Horrible, spoiling, time wasting tactics from the start. Unfortunately the tactics worked and they beat us 1-0.

Funnily enough, the best footballing side seen at Valley Parade so far, were Oldham, yet we beat them 3-0

To quote Jimmy Greaves, funny old game

Never saw that against FGR however we were beating them for much of the game so guess those tactics wouldn't come out. Against FGR we actually put in probably the best footballing display we have put in for years. Was a really good spectacle, we just had far more going forward in that game.

Well pleased with our start. Thought that there might be a hangover from the play-off final but we seem to have got over that. Couple of so-so results of late not that we have got much from Northampton away in the past. Guess the Flynn / Lincoln connection may have unsettled some but I think losing Inniss at the back for 5 games is proving more of a factor in the last 3 league games. Have kept things tight at the back so far and Amond, Matt and Abrahams are causing problems though not scoring on a regular basis. Tough game tomorrow at Swindon and would def take a point. Hopefully we can stay in the play-offs and continue our good form, particularly at home. Keep hold of Flynn for the season and you never know.
