I wouldn't be surprised if we did sign him, assuming that he impresses during his trial, if he went out on loan. You never know, he might even head your way!

I would like to see us send a number of our young/fringe players out on loan there, a sort of feeder club/development type set up if you will. The National North is a lot more physical and a slightly better standard then youth/reserve football.

So, looking through the squad, it seems we've gone for some very promising players and a few complete punts.

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced this season will be a rebuilding project that sees us finish about 7th.

So the fixtures are out!

We start at Edgelgey Park against Stockport which is a repeat of the 2012/13 season. Not disappointed by that but we have some huge trips in August and our Xmas period is fucking awful (Telford home and away)

But you have to play everyone at some point so...

Darlo fans - Will our fixture on August 27th be played at Bishops Auckland or Darlo Rugby Club?

Alfreton at home is not a bad way to start.

Following that we have Stalybridge (A), FCUM (A), & Halifax (H)

Away first and last games of the season.....long schleps to Worcester and Telford. Not great. FCUM and Boston matches midweek when we play the likes of Gloucester on a Saturday straight after, with the Festive double header - Stockport County. Both us and County have far closer and more relevant local double headers possible. Can we bring back the fixture list man, as ours is toss. No offence to any of the teams above!

Worcester as the big Christmas double header for us. Curzon as our first game away with Brackley and Chorley as the two home games in the first week. Not a bad start but we have a bit of a tough finish.

Harrogate over Xmas and NY takes the Michael.

Especially with Salford City lining up again Bradford PA.

Where's the sense in that?!?

By my reckoning Harrogate are the 12th closest team to us

Also good to see that our two bank holiday Monday games are against another local rival... Worcester

Monday bank holiday games aren't usually against local rivals. We played Tranmere last year and this year we play Alty.

Might not be either.

Bishop Auckland have had extensive work done on the pitch/ground over the summer and they requested for there first few games to be played away from home and work won't be completed on time.
Our new ground with the Rugby Club, work has only just begun to start. Could be wrong on that - Hasn't be an awful lot mentioned, apart from we may not be moving in until October.

I'm sure the league/Darlington have some kind of agreement in place if we can't play at either.

On another note; can't wait for Altrincham away - Few of us already booked on the early morning train to Manchester. Expecting to see 300/400 Quakers make the journey.

Very pleased to host FCUM first game, should be a bumper turnout. Then Darlo away at wherever it may be!

If you can put in the same kind of performance as you did at The Impact in April that will be much obliged.

Luca Havern signs for Telford I see.

Popular player at Alty, and I think most would have liked him to stay. Neil Young obviously didn't fancy him, and he did seem to lose fitness and a bit of interest by the end of last season.

It would not surprise me at all if we start our season of at the Darlington Mowden Park Arena (our old ground - The big soulless piece of garbage).

I think the fixtures are not too bad for Curzon at first, getting Kiddy at first may be good while they have a new set f players adjusting together as a team and will not be sure what this level is like, that could help a curzon side which has abit more stability to it over the summer.

then Bradford/Alfreton away who have weakened abit over summer and still have work to do and are doing it late in pre-season,, so again may be ideal to catch them early.

financially its very good for curzon, Kiddy will bring afew, most of the sides who will bring good numbers were kept to bank hols or saturdays and stalybridge an ideal christmas period games.

the only downfall for curzon is they need really to be safe early, they have Alty home then Salford and halifax away within their last 4 games, could be possibly 3 of the top 5 at end of season.

Any Eastbourne or Telford fans got any opinion on Jack Deaman? I know Cheltenham fans thought he was an ok performer for them in League 2 a few years back. Played on trial for City last night and looked solid enough, was only a Hellenic Premier team we were playing mind you.
