There is nothing miraculous about yourselves getting the playoffs from your position.

As for us, all to play for, need to sort out our away form if we are to snatch the title. Tomorrows game is a big test of our young squads' steel ahead of the final run-in. Sounds as if we will hear news about contract renewals by the end of the month, and quite possibly a new addition. We've been 'exhausting' our number one target for a while so hopefully we can pull it off sooner rather than later.

Feeling Prety awful this morning but still making the journey to Curzon Ashton.
Little bit perplexed by Priestley`s loan move to Frickley last night. Westcarr is out and both Sam Smith/Adam Smith are not match fit. That leaves Clayts and Hearn. Perhaps Wayne has plans to bring somebody in.

Enjoyed the game today, thought Kiddie played well but our pitch is not conducive to great football and the team was set up well to cope with their style. Opened the scoring on 8 minutes , Sampson getting his Third goal for us since coming in from Macc, big lesson about trying to play on edge of own box early in second half with Jake Cotterill grabbing his chance following a keeper /defender mix up. Difficult last twenty minutes after Kiddie scored but thought we just about deserved the points. Thought Ref did quite well today too.

It sounds like Sampson has found his level, although he scored 2 goals for us in his first game and looked good for the first few games, before tailing off very badly.

Sounded like the dreariest game imaginable today. By all accounts both teams were shite. Points tally into double figures in our 29th game.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Cracking performance today, won 5-0 and frankly should easily have been a good 8-9 goals.

Actually predicted a loss on the curzon prediction game because this season we struggle badly in our home games vs relegation battlers and i just assumed the same would happen, but alfreton were quite frankly........atrocious.

I was very surprised at their entire approach, when you look at our poor home record vs bottom sides, plus look at the fact Alfreton, like us conceed a lot....but score a lot, i expected a very open game, but Alfreton came here playing for a 0-0 draw, had no intention of bothering to have a go all game and defended as badly as you would expect for a side who conceeds lots of goals.

I worried during first half as we had a good 5-6 great positions and opportunities, but apart from one chance cleared off the line never got a shot from these easy goalscoring opportunities. Once we finally grabbed the goal it was just one way traffic and we battered them.

Crucial win, i'd be very worried if an Alfreton fan on that, I hope next week we should pretty much assure safety with a win at Gainsborough.

Dont know what to say after that. Blown away by our inempitude. Dont you worry i am more than worried I am convinced we are going down after that. I know its only one result but the shambolic nature of the club both on and off the field is extremely concerning. From the the sickening Terry Kennedy injury to the physio`s abscence to rumours of player unrest. Not to mentioned our truly pathetic performance.

In my opion we fortunate to get a point v Stockport and robbed Brackley blind of a point. I like Russ but he desperately needs an assistant. He needs some advice from a second pair of eyes.

Russ has promised signings this week and boy do we need them! Looks like the players are unhappy and it showed today. Still fuming.

Great to get a win in front of a big crowd yesterday, especially as we have a history of failing under those circumstances.

As pleased as I am with County's performance, got to say FC were dreadful. Could barely string three passes together, their frontline had no physical presence. Gonzalez looked a lot more useful than Amis or Odejayi ever have, was lively, quick and showed good touches with head & feet. The other new boy Hampson didn't look out of place at all.

Watching the highlights, the ref seemed spot on with all the decisions tbf, even if Amis hadn't deliberately elbowed the ball for their penalty he was still bearhugging the lad in front of him. As for FC's red, lots of us missed it due to the angle but the lad clearly stuck out an elbow well after the ball had gone past him, no arguments. It was especially stupid as it wasn't long after the penalty, and they looked like they were finally getting some momentum going and could've pushed for an equaliser.

Lots of constabulary out and about, I missed it because we went straight to the pub to avoid queues but apparently there was a bit of bother afterwards, things being thrown, a few batons to the leg etc

Good win today to hopefully get us back on track, Stockport in a few weeks is a huge game!
We've got lots of huge games coming up. Kiddy, Chorley, Salford and Fylde all in our next five.

Unbeaten since November though so I doubt anyone wants to play us right now, either

We were abject against Altrincham. 20% of their points against us. Hoof ball and talk of the pitch and a flat atmosphere in the ground as the reason for that performance.

We have two forwards out on loan and we had a centre back and a keft back up front. On our budget it says it all. Especially when I see two ex town forwards scoring yet again for Darlo.

Can't wait to see how full time status pans out

Fantastic attendance at County. Only in this country could that happen......tho so too a club like County still being down here. Enjoying their playoff charge and resulting jump in attendances. How many did fc take?

How's Jordan Richards doing DSL?

We could do with him back if I'm honest. We're playing a 17 year old kid at RB, converted from winger and he is way out of his depth.

Still can't get my head round that we loaned him out to you. Utterly bizarre.

I was impressed against Stockport. He looked very solid v Danny Lloyd one of the best players in this league and loved to get forward and was pretty much involved in every attack. brackley was an absolute nothing game.

Then on Saturday he was awful like the whole team. Gave the ball away continuously and seemed to get worse as the game went on! It was absolute nightmarish day from the get go for the club.

Looking for a big reaction from everyone on Saturday at Chorley.

Extremely important meeting being held at Stalybridge on Thursday night. Apparently according to people ITK its "seriously major news". The chairman has said no its nothing to do with the club going pop though!

Poor performance last night V Brackley who continually seem to be able to beat us. Would hope for a reaction against FCUM on Sat, but think anything other than 3 points and others dropping them means no chance of play off glory.

Very frank assesement from Russ after Saturday1s shennigans

http://www.alfretontownfc.com/news/O’Neill-furious-over-lacklustre-Reds-display-3204.htm

"The goals we conceded were poor and embarrassing; “I think in these tough moments it’s how we react to it, this Saturday is another tough game and we need to show that last week was a one off, a 5-0 loss is ridiculous for us to suffer with this team and it’s about our reaction now and how we put right our wrongs.

Apparently according to some good sources on Twitter the big meeting at Stalybridge tonight is to announce they are looking to leave Bower Fold

That's a shame. It looks like a lovely ground, full of character.

Here's who I'm assuming is the Stalybridge chairman explaining the Stalybridge announcement.

https://t.co/xrS7R53lkP

Utter batshit. It's a rare thing a ground like Bower Fold. Hopefully "the stars don't align", as he puts it. A new ground usually means a patch of land off a motorway slip road comprising hard standing, identikit stands and shipping containers. Although they're opting to put it in the town centre.

The only obvious patch of land in the centre of Stalybridge is a bit of brownfield on Huddersfield Road to the NE.

Actually Bower Fold's location is pretty shit. It's a trek from the town centre and there are no pubs for miles around. The last time we went because we weren't allowed in the club bar due to segregation they opened up the Indian restaurant attached to the ground - and by opened up I mean they had no lights or heating on and sold cans of warm Stella and Boddingtons for some outrageous price. The parking is also a nightmare. All in all despite being so close Bower Fold is a pretty shite away day, despite whatever 'character' the ground may have. If they can relocate closer to the town it would be a really good move for Staly.

I can't think of anywhere in Stalybridge town centre which could house a football ground, unless you bulldoze Tesco, or the bus station and bingo, and Melbourne stret
