Great cross/ chip in from McAtee there. Barnsley back in it. Their shirt is still horrendous. I just don't understand why the stars are so squashed on

What's Mark Harris like, Oxford? He started well when on loan with us then massively fizzled out to be the next in line to be lined up and shot, like the rest of the loan players we have had over the past 15 years.
He came to us as an attacking midfielder and we just gave him the number 9 and shoehorned him up front. It’s worked despite an indifferent mid-season blip (he didn’t score for four months) and he remains our only striker!

He works incredibly hard. His stamina to lead the line virtually all season and getting 19 goals is brilliant. He’s had absolutely no support, hasn’t had the opportunity to be rotated and generally always puts a shift in.

I don’t think he’s a natural goal scorer, but some of his finishing has been genuinely excellent.

He tired massively (unsurprisingly) on Saturday. We’ve ridden our luck far too much with him as our only option. We’ll be thucked if we get to Wembley and anything happens to him.

And just like that, game over. Fully expected Bolton to get through today, but didn't expect such a quick turnaround

Dont think Barnsley are that bad, and i like Phillips, Connel and McAtee, but Maghoma, Collins and Sheehan are as good as anything in this league including the two teams already promoted.
Good advert for league one

Feels like tie over now. Bolton have done really well to bounce back so quickly and kill off any nerves. Think Barnsley were probably unlucky not to have a penalty but ultimately playoffs have come at the wrong time for them

Barnsley were not good in that first half. They looked well off the pace.

Second half, all credit to them. Arguably could have drawn the tie had they taken one of those chances.

Ian Evatt certainly looked relieved just to get through!

Think a few fans and even players probably looked like they over celebrating?

Very relieved to get through. Maybe if we had won on the night we would have just mellowed the celebrations, but i think the relief showed on both the players and supporters

I hate the term 'over-celebrating' there's enough fucking football played where you're not celebrating, presumably miserable if you're at this level, so the opportunities where you get a break from all that - you absolutely should celebrate.

Well done, Bolton. I backed them to go up from off this season and I'd be surprised if they don't manage it in the play-offs. With that being said, the defence is absolutely honking so Oxford/Peterborough will definitely get (be gifted) chances.

Oxford deserve nothing from that first half but thanks to an absolute Reggie blinker of a handball they’ll go in level…lucky.

Silly handball by the Peterborough player right on HT.

Oxford really trying their best all game to break up playand frustrate - its not been a great watch. Not allowed Peterborough to get going. Looks like Oxford may well see this out.

In a word… No. It’s really not our normal game, but it’s bloody refreshing.

We’re notoriously naive and thin skinned. Recently we’ve grown a backbone which has helped us massively.

I think you only had to watch the Bolton - Barnsley game last night. Bolton looked edgy and nervous. They weren't themselves, but playoffs do that to you.

Two legged affairs are a tactical battle. I didn't expect us to set up as we did, but we executed it so well and getting to the final is a huge achievement. In that sense, we played well albeit it was ugly.

By the way, we are huge underdogs. I fully expect Bolton to win, however if we can pull off the unthinkable...

Bolton for sure the big favourites, but Oxford will have fans there unlike in 2020.

Fair play to Oxford, they looked poor against us 2 months ago but Buckingham seems to have really turned it around since then.

These games can turn into 50/50s so rule Oxford out at your perile.

Peterborough staying down guarantees one less spot in the top 6 for everyone else

True. EMC will be gone and they’ll probably manage to sell the CB for upwards of £5million, but then they’ll just make quality signings and rinse & repeat their playoff bottle-jobbing.

I'm going to hazard a guess that the Oxford fans that called us a disgrace for shithousing a 1-0 away win in a must win game at their place a month ago are now happy with shithousing themselves to the PO Final!

Thought Bolton were very edgy the other night when really you'd have expected them to see it out better than they did, particularly with how the game was at HT.

I don't think any of the PO sides have really done themselves too much justice over the two legs but as GeneralLee says, the PO's don't necessarily see sides perform like they have done in the previous 46 league games.

Glad Posh didn't go up. They went at us like a rabbit during mating season but then a week or so later were absolutely pathetic against one of our relegation rivals. They seemingly save their best performances against us and it causes my irrational hatred of them.

It feels like a distant memory that game!

Disgrace? That might a stretch (not that I have seen). I think OUFC supporters quite rightly took issue that it wasn't a penalty rather than shithousing a result through time wasting/tactical awareness etc. Once the penalty was scored, the game was managed effectively and Lincoln didn't put a foot wrong.

Other than your typical 14 year old Twitter/X 'football supporter' impressing their mates, I don't think many OUFC supporters really took issue with anything else. At that point, myself included, expected you to get that last play off spot.

Do Bolton struggle against sides who sit back and frustrate?

Might put some cash on a Oxford 1-0, Brannagan scorecast.

On a side note, I'd probably have Josh Knight on a free from Peterborough at North End, and i'd be happy to snap up one of Connell, Phillips, or Kane from Barnsley.
