With Fox out, and other injuries, I think we may come a cropper here.

0-1

We are at the point where we will either bottle it and go on a bad run, or go on a good run. Recent history predicts a bad one

A confidence boosting 2-0 with Taylor scoring twice.

We have 3 home games in 8 days. Notts, Carlisle and Blackpool. 7 or 9 points and I think we'll have 1 foot almost over the line. I think it would leave us needing a point a game to reach 80 which looks about the mark this year.

Also with Donny playing 2 times away it gives us a shot to catch them or even take their position.

Massive week for us COYG

Despite us looking a lot better we haven't really (Exeter aside) come up against any team who on paper are decent.
I think this will be too much of an ask but I do think we will keep it relatively tight.
2-1 Argyle.

How are you at defending against slow hoofball? If the answer is good, you'll be fine

We can afford to draw the six pointers, but these are the sort of games we must win. Unfortunately I think we last won on a Tuesday evening in 2015. I expect that it will be a dour, tough, hard fought match, not the sort we excel at.

Well now. The team selection curve ball seems to be working, sounds like Forte is having a stormer.

Said before this kicked off we can't cope with direct physical football. The back 4 don't commit to 50/50s, midfield a waste of time. Should revert to 3-5-1 with the two wing backs dropping back into defence to help the back line when midfield is by-passed. But we can't seem to do that.

Spencer off Tanner on at HT. Seems Adams gave the squad the hair dryer at HT according to reports. Hopefully play with a bit more passion now

Playing 5-3-2. Should counter the direct football

What a result. Deserved, too, by the sounds of it. Got to give it to Nolan, wasn't an obvious choice but he is doing some job.

Deserved by County. Adams is too stubborn to change tactics to suit direct football. Should have gone 5-3-2 from the get go for this game, and went direct ourselves.

No complaints with the result

Absolutely huge result for us, 8 points between us and the bottom 2. Didn't expect us to get anything tonight, but 3 points was a massive bonus.

If you want a laugh lads watch the Notts County goal.

I can't describe what's happened this evening apart from possibly the worst performance I've seen all season. Even worse than the Grimsby debacle.

We put it on a plate for Notts and they obliged. Congrats to the travelling fans.

To effectively build a whole new team in the last 3 days of January and make them competitive is some effort. Hopefully we can get well out of danger by the end of March.

Haydn Hollis - the human clean sheet. New contract please. RIP the haters.

God no, not another year please. He gets dropped, comes back in and does really well, it gets to his head and he becomes utter garbage and then gets dropped after 3 bad games. He's just not consistent enough and we need better than him and the likes of Hewitt if we want to get rid of the annual relegation battle

Hollis is the boo boy and gets way too much flak. He's a league two defender so makes mistakes like all the others.

He's not had any protection from our midfield over the past 3 years. Simply blaming Hollis is unfair.

I'd keep him. He can't be on a high wage and he's actually not that bad.

Even Hewitt looks comfortable with some protection from midfield

I still think Hewitt could be a decent player although I don't really know what position it'd be in.

Hewitt has all the attributes to be a good footballer apart from positional sense and concentration. The amount of times he makes a bad decision, or just switches off is way too high for him to play at a higher level. I think he could make it at League One / Two, but can't see him playing higher

We haven't won one since 2015. A common theory (excuse) is that our dim floodlights and our dark green kits camouflage with dull green empty seats and so our players can't see each other. There have genuinely been calls to wear our away kit for every Tuesday match.

Football fans never cease to amaze.

Our players do seem to be on a completely different wavelength for evening games when compared with saturday afternoons so who knows?

The real paradox happens when we play Grimsby last game of the season, on a Saturday, but in the evening. Hopefully it'll still be light by then.

Haha

Seriously the squad is feeling downbeat as of late and needs more hunger and fight to pick up the points in order to go up. We're not seeing that at the moment

This division is seriously messed up with anyone capable of beating anyone else. We've lost at home to Cheltenham. Hartlepool and Leyton Orient but then we go and win at Carlisle and Luton as well as at Home Park.

To get out of this league you need to play well at going direct as well as passing to suit the opposition. We set up incorrectly last night, should have gone direct ourselves and used a back 5 to counter against Ariel balls into the box. Hence why you can beat teams who set up to pass around in midfield by playing long

Great stuff from the ref, looking at the highlights. Would've been easy to send Forte off or give Argyle a penalty at the end but he's got both absolutely spot on.

Would be a fair comment if not for the fact he had a 12 month spell in League 1 where he was superb and even fooled people into thinking Louis Laing was the next Maldini (despite the fact he couldn't win a header or pass a ball).

Hewitt just needs a position to concentrate on. His first team football appearances seem almost evenly spread across winger, full back and centre back. I'd still be fairly surprised if he kept his place ahead of Duffy
