Cowley prepared for getting the Barca job 36 years ago when on his first overnight school trip he named his tent the New Camp.
Is that why he got Danny Whitaker to style his hair based on Iniesta?

Askey will get the best out of our two star strikers, Rhead and Cook.
To be fair Lincoln have managed well without Rhead though as his replacement Akinola has been banging the goals in for fun.

Carlisle job is free in the summer. I get the feeling he'll get linked to any sort of northern L2/Conf job non stop now.

Stick a pony on Askey to go to Wrexham the moment the betting reopens. It's ON.

Haven't got a pony but I'll stick a sheep on him being our man.

Us Wrexham lot are deluded. If the shortlist I've heard is accurate there will be a riot.

Askey talking fairly positively about making plans for the squad next season already, doing his usual trick though and calling the owner out on not having the required conversation to be able to offer contracts out yet!

Will be a Wrexham in a week!

The big UNVEILING of Sam Ricketts will be at 10:50. Presumably we have to wait until the Hong Kong stock exchange opens or something.

But will the Welsh FA have ratified the move in time for the new season?

So Ricketts is now officially announced.

When's the next "Askey to [insert club here]" thread starting?

Seems a risky one. He only stopped playing last season didn't he?

I'd be interested to know who else was in the running, it's very left-field. We shall see..

Looked at the Wolves forum and they all hate us for some reason. We gave them a future superstar in Bradley Reid, they should be grateful.

Odd choice for Wrexham.

Start of another “3 year project” that fan owned clubs obsess over and rarely materialise. If he has a good first season a bigger club will snap him up, sacked if they finish bottom half. Only way he’ll be there 2 years is if he continues the tradition of Wrexham being the new Macc and fading into 10th every season.

3 years is one year too long I think, but Ricketts seems like a bloke who could be successful in management. In many respects he feels like an upgrade on Dean Keates. I like that we're continuing with the post Gary Mills strategy of employing a young modern thinking manager with potential. And he takes charge without mass upheaval of coaching staff and players. Whatever happens with Ricketts, that feels like the best approach for the club, given that we don't have the budget to brute force our way to promotion.
