9 goals in 3 days. BANK HOLIDAY TOTAL FOOTBALL BONANZA.

Same old Rovers, Taking the piss. :bdick:
Still 5 goals short of the Mighty Imps - the country's top goalscorers!

We'll take whatever we can get!
I suppose you have tough competition up there...

I was reading this too and it sounded a terrible way to treat a visiting fan. It would be nice if your chairman stepped in and refund both ticket and travel costs. It sounds like the New Lawn stadium manager should be sent to Maidstone for extensive re-training.
A real balls up bringing the TNL stadium staff into embarrassing disrepute YET again.
I don't know full details but the real stadium manager was not aware of this issue until a couple of hours ago.
Seems like some jobsworthy security guy with illusions above his pay grade fouled up.

Attackers win cups defenders win leagues lads.

Except for the fact this isn’t true in the slightest.

In each of the last 6 seasons the Conference has been won by the highest scoring team.

Only twice in this time has the title winner had the outright best defence (Cheltenham and Crawley).

Bizarre quotes coming out from Kinnear today:

'There are several reasons why we were not so sharp, but those will stay in house and we will try and sort it.' Doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it?

'we have got to make the most of what we have got and not get too down' which is the exact opposite of what he is doing.

'The way we play is to not change things too quick, but Miller does make a difference' Pick him then???

'we are competing with people who want lots of money for their players and players who also want lots as well' I heard yesterday that apparently Moore was picking up £1.2k a week at Orient - I don't know how much of that we are paying but why pay it to have him sat on the bench for 80 minutes a week??

All that being said, I couldn't believe my ears when supporters around me were calling for him to be sacked yesterday.

Parkinson was shocking yesterday and apparently was no better against Torquay. I'm not sure about Lafayette on the wing, he's a big target man who needs to be down the middle. Miller looked a threat on the right yesterday, I'd like to see him get a full game there.

Maybe it's us who are both missing something but quote of the day has to be the one on Kent on line where CK is insisting he picked "the right team" Hello!

I will certainly be happy when the Wednesday night transfer window has come and gone in case any Div 1 or Div 2 teams are looking for a forward, and the way things are going he would be off like a shot. As for CK getting sacked, what a load of nonsense and anyone even thinking of chanting such a thing needs a real head examination

If only we could play Chester every week. I realise this is the weakest Woking team since we were relegated in 2009, but equally, that's the most limited Chester side I've seen for years. And given that they are always utter shit against us, that's really saying something.
I missed my first visit to Kingfield because our manager is an idiot. We beat 3rd in the table Sutton 4-0 two days before, but he decides to make wholesale changes to a winning side. It really is embarrassing that we can't beat a small team like Woking, who have beaten us in 5 consecutive games over 3 seasons. I've not doubt now that while this clown is manager we'll never beat you and our chairman (not a football man) thinks he's great.

Nice to get our first win of the season on the board. What a difference having Ismail Yakubu back makes. Really hard-working and committed display from everyone. Murtagh - class.

Chester - I really like them. Won six of our last seven against them and no matter how bad we seem to be, we nearly always win. They're in for a difficult season. We might well send them down when we next play them in April.

Hope Railway Blue enjoyed his day out.

Thanks for the acknowledgement and well done (read my post above). I'm afraid that 3 away wins in 12 months means that we don't travel well. I'm saving up for a trip to USA next year so the £100 I spend (on average) on away trips will fund it. We only seem to be able to hammer London teams at home and always follow it up with a dismal away performance.

Lifted from our forum:

Right, the issue has been investigated.

A man was refused entry, not because he turned up late (in fact six other punters entered after him), but due to his aggressive behaviour towards stewards when he came to the gate and afterwards towards staff.

The man was very aggressive and obnoxious towards stewards when he came to the gate (apparently because he was running late) and despite being asked to calm down or he risked being refused entry, he continued in this manner, so the decision was made to refuse him entry.

Two sides to every story of course.

Apologies for my post - I got it wrong as post above clearly explains.

You don't have to apologise, some of our stewards are less than popular at times, it wouldn't surprise me if the truth is somewhere between what the two of us posted.

My thinking too - wouldn't be surprised if while the 'Port fan was less than charming he hadn't actually done much more than be grumpy but a steward decided to play hardball.

I'm afraid I'll never return to TNL after I was fucked about by a Gloucester Rugby steward 2 years ago. I don't travel 150 miles to be treated like a criminal. I will never go to Borehamwood, Torquay or Bromley again either for similar reasons. Last year a crowd of 7,500 were treated to a fun day by Merseyside Police and apart from one nutter who ran on the pitch I doubt there was any trouble at all. Most trouble at football matches would be avoided if knobs like that steward at FGR lightened up.

It's an embarrassment. Two sides to every story as they say but we strangely seem to generate a lot more of these stories than other clubs.

Never had a problem with our stewards myself, the couple I know personally are top lads. Our safety officer and stadium manager are very good at their jobs too.

We get enough of a kicking from everyone else without our own fans doing us down without knowing the facts, This Southport fan might have been a complete knob who deserved to be treated as scum for all we know. We should trust the club to deal with this sort of stuff, we're one of the best run at this level imo.

Same for me at our end, always have a chat, but after that beachball thing with the Grimsby fan and stuff like this I do wonder.

just thought i'd post here about the trip to borehamwood on monday, especially after the bad press they've been getting recently. on the way up there i had it in mind what a crap club they were going to be, and not expecting much of an awayday after everything i'd been reading about them. however, it didn't turn out to be that way at all. the spoons there was great and very cheap, decent stadium, decent stewards and the club officials were first rate. not what i was expecting at all.
top awayday and all 3 points, can't ask for more than that, look forward to our next trip there. just hope they change their policy on charging for non subscription highlights etc. the few quid they charge for them can't begin to compensate for the damage it does to their reputation as a club. also worthy of note was it's the first ever away match i've been to where i didn't meet a single oppo fan. very strange.

We were fairly poor at Sutton but still should have taken a point. Maguire-Drew had one cleared off the line and an excellent free-kick saved, and Hawkins should have buried a chance from a corner in the 2nd half. One defensive error and we were punished, disappointing but something that a young side will hopefully learn from.

Oh, and I've decided I'm not a fan of 3G pitches at this level at all. Although I am a fan of Gander Green Lane in general.

He didn't, he left just after Chester scored to make it 1 all........

He'll be leaving early on Saturday as well, as his side gets RIPPED A NEW ONE.

If you read my post you'd realise that I didn't go. I won't be going to every away match as previously. Call it the 7 year itch.
