Follows it up with a mare on the mound.

EDIT: recovered that well, bases loaded, two consecutive strikeouts to end the inning.

Watched the D-Backs @ Dodgers, not a high scoring game but pretty entertaining (helped in no small part by Vin Scully and the wonderful looking weather, fans basking in the glorious sunshine being ideal baseball weather surely?). Paul Goldschmidt hit his third home run of the season so far, still new to the game but that's good going for the first 10 days of the season innit?

Tuning into the Yankees @ Blue Jays now.

Clay Buchholz. Still an aggravating, ostrich lookin' mofo. On the DL before the end of next month, for a guess.

Settled on a team yet, or just watching games and seeing if you feel an affiliation to one of them?

I've been catching a couple of games on BT, watched the Red Sox come back the other night and the other one that went to 11 innings with Miami as well.

Not yet, I followed the Royals at the back end of last season due to the coverage on any article relating to the Chiefs I read, but I'm not overly keen tbh. I quite like the Dodgers with their history and lovely stadium, plus great play caller and it's pretty much always going to be great baseball weather when they play at home. Yankees for obvious reasons, by far the most recognisable outfit in baseball surely?, I like the Red Sox and Cubs for similar reasons to the Dodgers, I like the Athletics, but they're a bit shit right now I believe?, Indians, Reds, Tigers, Braves, Giants and Phillies all appeal, so yeah I've narrowed it down somewhat....

I'll probably just plod along and enjoy the games no matter who's playing really, like I do with basketball.

Atlanta still haven't won yet, while Baltimore lost against the Red Sox to end their unbeaten run. They're equal at 7-1 with the Chicago Cubs.

Can't go wrong supporting the Yankees ;)

When considering a team there are just three things to consider in my opinion; 1) the time difference. 2) picking a team in a city you actually would want to visit and 3) how hot will it be watching a game there. Points 2 and 3 only matter if you're ever thinking of visiting the US obviously.

Personally, I wouldn't look at teams who play west of the central time zone or south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Betances is just special. A 98mph+ fastball and a curve that clocks in at 81mph, and because he pitches out of the pen, he can locate too. Filthy!

39.6% strike out rate having faced over 700 hitters.

If he was straight up crap it'd be less aggravating. It's a variation on the Dice-K thing... just enough to convince you that he's really going to put it together this time, just enough glimpses of a top shelf pitcher... but never for any extended period of time, always waiting for the other to shoe to drop... the DL trip, the inexplicable run of catastrophic starts...

The man is mentally ill. Bankrupt after his video game farce, but lands on his feet with this gig, and then gets himself fired from it (after multiple warnings) cos of an inability to stop posting batshit memes on social media. I mean, WTF.

I imagine he will turn up on some right wing media outlet now, doing the PC martyr routine. Which will be great.

:ffs:

Coming soon to Rush Limbaugh's show no doubt.

I'm off to Toronto in June, and picked up tickets for two games against the D'backs. Nice to know the game will start on time without a rain delay. Hoping to see Greinke pitch and Goldschmidt hit.

They've thrown Ryan Weber to the wolves down in Georgia.
