So Carlisle have stayed in the south West this week and will be up for this one

But I think we will hold onto a 1-1 draw

Hold on to a 1-1 draw? :fl:

We got completely dominated by Cheltenham the other night, we were clinging on for a 0-0 for 85 minutes before succumbing to the relentless pressure from their superior quality.

We'll scrap and cling on here as long as we can and may even get to half time, but in the end we'll lose. This is a great game for Plymouth as they'll know they can go out there and totally dominate knowing that they are up against a defence that will buckle as it has done in every match since the beginning of October. A further boost is that our only semi reliable centre back is out for 4 weeks.

Plymouth 2-0 Carlisle

I guess it's a compliment to our great football club that Carlisle are trying to replicate what we do every year..

Oh no Plymouth fans we're worse than you and we've got more bottlers in our team!

Plymouth 6-0 Carlisle thanks to Carlisle players fannying around and Plymouth being ruthless in front of goal and far superior in every other department, except the bottling one of course.

This is a weird league: the supporters of the team that have been in the top three most of the season are both extremely pessimistic at present! How often does that happen?

Any of you boys coming down from Cumbria?

I'm not. It's a long way to go when your team are playing shite and it's certain defeat.

Yesterday we'd sold just over 200, I'd estimate 300 of us will be there tomorrow.

I'm still not pessimistic about our chances this season, but I'm more hopeful than expectant now. That's the same approach I'm taking for this game, hopefully we put in a good performance and avoid 3 straight losses and the inevitable drop into the playoffs.

Our injury list is increasing once again, it'll be a makeshift defence once again but Grainger is surely in line to start. We've got to go four at the back.

Gillespie
Miller Liddle Brisley Grainger
O'Sullivan Jones Devitt Joyce Adams
Proctor

A draw wouldn't really suit either team, both teams are looking over their shoulders at Portsmouth and the chasing pack. I wouldn't be overly surprised if neither of us went up automatically.

A win for us would put us just a point behind Plymouth (although they've got a game in hand) and maintain, or even extend the gap to the playoff pack.

I don't think we have a good record down there, other than the FA cup win last season. If they get an early goal, and they probably will, we'll probably crumble.

Our midfield needs to be tightened up. We've been conceding goals lately when the opposition have found space 30 yards out and ran at us. This was our strength at the start of the season but the Joyce / Jones partnership doesn't quite seem so strong. Liddle should be playing center midfield.

I'd have...

Gillespie
Miller Brisley Gillesphey Grainger
Liddle Jones Joyce
O'Sullivan Adams
Poctor.

I feel if we score the first goal we'll probably come alive and be really dangerous on the counter too, if Carlisle score first the fans will get on our own backs and any confidence will just drain on and off the pitch

Looks a lot stronger defensively for us, having Grainger back in the side is such a boost. We cannot concede early in this one, otherwise it'll be very tough to comeback and heads will drop.

If Mansfield and Stevenage as expected both win today, we'll only be 4 points above 8th place.

Two disallowed goals for Carlisle so far, Argyle just hit the bar and 5 corners for us so far. Madness.

I've been in 2 minds recently about whether we'll make top 7 or not.

Now I'm certain, Carlisle United will NOT make the playoffs. Even if by some miracle we scrape a point here, my mind is still made up.

Other teams are in far better form and are all of a sudden right up our arseholes. We will end up 8th or lower which would be an absolute fucking shit tip of a finish given our first half of the season.

The gap to 7th is 3 points as it stands.

The gap to 8th will be 4 points if Mansfield beat 10 man Cheltenham.

Is the reality hitting home yet, Carlisle fans?

So glad I lumped £50 on the Plymouth win.

Have to say that Nicky Adams looks unlikely to get his fourth promotion in four years. He did play well though.

Today was a good day all round, we even got a seat on the bus home!

What on Earth was Luke Joyce thinking? I get that players make mistakes but how many of those ones has he made for us in his time since joining Carlisle?

We never got out the blocks in the second half and we played with very little or no tempo for the second game in a row, so it's going to take a lot of determination and character now if we're going to achieve what we want to achieve.
