We celebrate St Patrick's Day, but not St George's Day. Why?

If you celebrate St. George's Day you get branded a racist.

I self-identify as Irish and I find the people caricaturing Irishness very distasteful. Cultural appropriation.

In this day and age i don't think people should celebrate killing dragons because it's cruel but if other people want to then i don't think they should be stopped because we have free speech and democratic beliefs.

The thread title is strangely apt. The word 'boycott' derived from a Captain Boycott who evicted farm tenants on behalf of his absentee landlord during the Irish 'land war' in the 19th century. In what amounted to a strike by local workers working the land of his boss he was shunned and ostracized - hence the derivation of boycott.

Courtesy of Dan's useless facts.
