Championship ain't exactly the Prem though. Burton ffs.
Gulf in class from L1 to The Championship and The Championship to The Prem isn't much different nowadays.

Well, I do know. Lest people forget, we've only been away for two seasons.

You don't half talk some utter shit, I've never known anyone go on like the championship is some sort of fucking Barcelona standard. Just because you've done shit in both your seasons.

Let's see how you get on next season Blade, before commenting.

The gulf in class is ridiculous, the money, stadiums, squads, facilities, it's a class above nowadays and is the Premier League mark two with the amount of money in it.

You've been out of it for six years so I wouldn't comment until next season, at which point you'll probably be struggling let's be honest.

This is all I hear from championship fans about how good it is, I've watched quite a lot on TV this season and other than the top 9 most are bang average. Teams like Ipswich and Burton look more than beatable tbh, no body's saying it will be easy but with sound investment mid table is achievable. Look at Barnsley if they hadn't sold their family silver in January they could have been fighting for a playoff spot come May, Huddersfield spent the same as Rotherham according to Sky and look at the differences, look at Villa only mid table.

Sheffield United were the best in our league by a country mile this season, I think they are more than capable of a upper mid table finish. If we were promoted and brought in 5-6 decent players I'd be confident of staying up.

Well we're already towards the top with facilities and stadium. We won't spend as much money as some teams obviously but neither did reading,Huddersfield or Leeds. We will strengthen obviously and I don't think we will struggle at the bottom, still too early to predict properly but I feel we will be more than capable of matching what pne have done.

It is a really competitive league and there's a hell of a lot of money in it, you used Villa as an example but I think the fact that they spent in excess of £50m and have the squad and manager that they have and only managed a 12th place finish shows how strong it is.

With the right manager and sensible investment you can be up there, but look at Sheffield United's squad ffs, they're not going to set the league alight. Wilder is also an unknown quantity at that level unless I'm mistaken so we shall see, it's not to say I don't rate him as a manager but he's coming up against some great managers most weeks, so we shall see.

Granted, but they have three decent managers and recruited really well. We shall see Blade I think you'll be surprised at how much you struggle.

No doubt it's strong, but I used Villa as they have spent far more than Huddersfield, Leeds and Reading and ended well below them. As for these great managers I'm not so sure over rated maybe, Middlesborough's got exposed in the Premier League, Monk and Lambert were bang average at best but all look good at that level. Steve Bruce and Harry Rednapp are the only true quality managers I can think of for next season, with some hit and miss ones. Great managers don't tend to manager in second tier football regardless of how good people think it is.

Your acting like we've never seen it before there is about 3 matches on tv every week ffs. Wilder hadn't managed at league one either look how that went and at what point did I say we'd set the league alight I said I think we're capable of doing what Preston have done

Well let's see how your side get on in the league then, baring in mind it was you that told me only your full backs and central midfielders would make the step up.

Anyway, the final....

Millwall for me. They have clinical goalscorers, Bradford don't. That'll be the difference for me.

We all know that Joe but any player in the team is allowed to score. Over the season, Millwall have only scored 4 more goals than us(they have conceded 14 more). In fact over the last 23 games Bradford have scored 34 and Millwall 29. All irrelevant as the team who turns up will come out on top.

Ok maybe I should've worded it differently. For me, Millwall have a clearly superior attack, which in a one-off match will make the difference in my eyes.

CW has had a real apprenticeship and looking at his progress since, clearly has ambition and the nous to follow it through. I actually think he will show himself to be one of the best young English managers, aim for top half next season then move on from there. One thing for sure, now that the Blades have finally shook the dust off, they are not there to simply make up numbers. Listening to this terrifying talk, I don't know why us and Millwall are battling it out this weekend afterall Barnsley have done badly and Charlton and Dons have walked away with league 11.

I think Alan knill plays a huge part too, good pairing together

Division Two is better than Division Three? Shocked, I am shocked I tell you.

Just saw the Division Two map for next season and Christ it's depressing. Bradford, you can have it.

Everywhere is a fair old trot from Vermont to be fair.

Interestingly we thought the same of AK's influence when they were at our place...

Obviously better combo than with Andy Melville or Mickey Lewis. Wilder has clearly learnt from his mistakes in his latter years with us as well and has had a cracking couple of seasons.

Only one of last seasons promoted sides to the Championship got relegated, doesnt exactly back up this unbridgeable gulf theory you have.

It's a very tough league, but it always seems to be the supporters of the perpetual mediocrities who shout loudest and most insecurely about THIS MASSIVE GAP. In the long run, it's very hard to do anything without a fair amount of financial backing, but keeping afloat for a few seasons does not require a titanic effort, only a degree of competency.

Likewise, CW did very well for us, it will be interesting to see how far towards the glass ceiling he can get.
I think the majority of Cobblers fans wish him every success.

Hopefully JED has also learnt from his previous mistakes.

So we've sold just under 30k at this point. Glad it's Bradford and not Fleetwood so there'll be a half decent crowd there.

We've sold a very disappointing 23,000+, fair play to Millwall on their numbers.

I bet you're not including cup or playoff games in the above.

Our goal scoring return has been hampered though with Gregory and Morison not starting together in 22 of our 46 League games. But both are fit now and in goal scoring form.
