I hate the modern day experience, not so much the lack of hooliganism or owt but how it's almost sanitised and generic, every club sings the same fucking songs, you have buy tickets in advance to sit with yer pals, much easier in the old days of standing when you just rocked up and you knew yer mates would be in the same spot.

Watching some 19 year old kid with a 'wacky' haricut in green boots falling over like he's suffered a serious injury only to be running around like a pup moments later, then driving off in his super car post game before being snapped supping Grey Goose in some pretentious shit hole!

Meh!

Nice ground upgrade tho lads
Modern game in a nutshell Walkley. Struck a chord with many I'd imagine!!!

Any news if the south stand will be completely finished by the first game? I'd imagine the stand could be used if all seats in position and doesn't breach health and safety even if everything in the gantry etc isn't usable and the stand from the inside looks usable. You'd think everything would be on schedule or it would be hard to understand the Williams being dismantled at the same time if they were behind schedule on the south stand.

Nothing to suggest it's behind TBH. Bear in mind delaying the Williams demolition would make part of the South stand unusable as the Williams would be in the way, stop the movement of the pitch meaning the front of the Dolman can't be finished AND delay the West stand.
Fixtures and fittings apart, it HAS to be finished by August or the whole thing could be delayed by 12 months as far as I can see it.

Bear in mind theres still over two months until the start of the season, which is a long time in construction - after all, look at the progress that has been made in the previous two months. Nothing whatsoever to suggest we are behind schedule. :)

Still no internal views tough? Worrying about nothing?
There were internal views in the flythrough - but apart from that there haven't been any others.

Probably worrying about nothing - it'll be sorted by the start of next season.

The thread got moved up to this forum - so if you read this partially in the L1 forum, you've just wasted a whole lot of time re-reading it ;)

Quite looking forward to seeing how this turns out, hope to visit.

So you've built the new goal end, you're building a new bottom tier for the side stand and then you'll demolish the opposite side stand and build another... is that right? What are you doing with the Atyeo Stand? When is it all looking to be completed?

Spot on mate. Nothing can be done to the Atyeo as there are houses directly behind it, although rumours are going round that they're in the process of being bought by the club... Should be finished by the end of the upcoming season

As Aaron says, there's not alot happening to the Atyeo AT THE MOMENT but rumours persist that something is afoot re that end.
As far as I know, the tunnel is being removed and replaced with seating and an internal tart up is happening at that end at some point but nothing major. There are club offices going underneath where the current changing rooms and gymnasium are at the mo but nothing structural. It will certainly look tiny in comparison to the current Dolman height and the much bigger new West stand (the one just starting), that's certain.

Will the players still be emerging from the Atyeo next season?

And the rumours have always been floating around about Lansdown trying to purchase the houses behind the Atyeo. Wouldn't surprise me, it would be pocket change to Lansdown, and the houses are about 2 by 2 foot anyway.

Nothing can be done to the Atyeo until the houses get knocked down, otherwise it's staying there for good.

You'd be surprised JJH, those houses are a fair size, I went in one of them a few years ago and it's a big old tub!
I assume the players will still be using the Atyeo changing rooms next season, otherwise they will be changing in the car park!

Once the Williams is re-developed, I believe they'll be coming out of there much like they used to do.

Really? Surprising, looking at it from the outside, they look very small.

Thing is they're just rumours, size of the house or however much money SL has doesn't come into it, it will be down to whether the current owner wants to sell and how much they're prepared to hold out for, I remember a house among a row of houses at the end of Filton runway holding out against BAC for some fifteen years or more because the owner refused to sell.

Some might believe that the club would get a compulsory purchase order should that be the case, but again this is flawed thinking as the club would have to prove that the development is crucial to the clubs progression, the only way that will come into being is to sell out week on week, that isn't going to happen for years unless we end up in the Premier league and competing.

Let's hope you don't do a liverpool and run down the area just so you can build another stand.

Indeed, once the Williams / new West stand is built, the players will come out on the half way line as they used to and the Atyeo tunnel covered over and extra seats fitted.
On those houses, most are 3 or 4 bedroom, I would guess with 2 receptions rooms or converted into flats. They're not massive but certainly a decent size. £300K -350K a pop I would guess at least.

Nearly ready-ish! Well virtually all the seats are in anyway.
I notice on this pic that the 2.5M path previously in front of the Dolman has been fenced off as part of the Dolman lower tier installation. I assume this means the 2.5M pitch extension can be added on to the West side once the Williams comes down, which is imminent?
