I sometimes leave a game a few mins early if were losing and it means catching a train home an hour earlier (especially on a midweek game). I know everyone has their own opinions but if you pay the money you're entitled to do/leave when you want. Doesn't make anyone any less of a supporter IMO.

How about coming from 2-0 down in the last couple of miniutes to get our first point on the board? And you missed it?
You're not assed?
Isn't that why we do what we do? Following our club up and down the country for moments like that?

Each to their own I guess.
I'm pleased for the team, but I'm not naive enough to see that the problems are still there massively, and I am dumbfounded as to how a 5 minute spell has convinced people we're all that.

But as I said, I'll be there at Boro, Burnley, and Birmingham, supporting the team, so I don't think I should be put in the firing line for how I choose to support my club, baring in mind the amount of money over my lifetime I've spent watching them.

Questions over Silvestri now. Not dominant enough even if he is a good shot stopper. Even at 2-0 I knew a goal and we'd start to be very vulnerable. Blown two excellent three point opportunities now. Can't excuse that.

Count your blessings.

Despite what happened at the end, you goalie made a difference for your lot. Plenty of good or better saves.

We were battering your side and opening them up left, right and center.

The penalty (dive) and silly error, leading to the counter shook us.

But credit where it's definitely due, we dug in and got something from the game.

From the last two games, we've shown much promise and just need to adapt, erasing the nativity in our play at times.

But that's the point, keepers need to be more than just good shot stoppers. He is very good at that but in those situations at the end, you need a keeper who can command his area, get his hands on the ball and relieve pressure. His first port of call is a punch or a parry and it causes us problems a lot of the time. I know if he was great at that too then he probably wouldn't be in the Championship but it is frustrating.

Again, it wasn't a dive. The only people I've seen even begin to think that are two on here. Poor from Hamer and he wasn't too clever at the weekend either.

Did you start the season with delusions that the leagues new boys would mount a promotion challenge? Your posts often come across like you're expecting minimum top 10.

The thing is we could have. We had such momentum, and there was a real feel good factor at the club. A couple of solid additions in the summer, and keeping the squad the same as it was, we'd have been up there.

As it is, we've only strengthened upfront, as Robinson, Fredericks and Hamer were no better than what we already had, yet we are still trying to spunk most our money on another striker.

It didn't need a lot - just a few solid additions, like Preston have done. It didn't even need shed loads of money, Preston have strengthened with solid additions in area where they were vulnerable.

We've royally cocked up, and you have to feel like we've missed a big chance.

Not sure how hard we tried to get Smith, would Fulham really have said no if we went in with say £3m or so? Plenty of strikers around I'd still like the look of though, Bradshaw and Wells for example if not Smith, however I now expect us to try and get someone on loan. We need to be looking at players in other positions though. A CM, Robinson went missing a lot but looked promising when on the ball, left Pack and Smith a bit exposed.
Chris Brown is available. :animatedf:

Solid additions is exactly how I would describe the signings of Hamer, Fredericks and Robinson. GK, RWB and attacking midfielder; all positions we were lacking competition for places in. As you say, we've strengthened up top, and we've managed to keep all the stars from our promoted team. Yes, we're in need of a few more solid additions (a CM, CB and maybe a left sided player), and our failed attempts for a big money, 'statement of intent' forward have come across a little desperate, but some on here have been painting our summer as this disastrous crisis, which is melodramatic and way over the mark in my view. And the window's not over yet.

I do think there's some truth in what TB alludes to, in that there's an element of overexpectation amongst some of our fanbase. Largely I imagine down to how well we did in our first season up under Johnson, there is this attitude of if we aren't up there, aren't making a playoff push this season it's a wasted opportunity. Which is looking at it the wrong way round. Hope for it certainly, but it's a very good season if we do so, rather than a bad one if we don't.

And it's not all or nothing this year in terms of ever hoping to get promoted. Look at Bournemouth, as they're always the example at the minute, they spent their first season up mainly hovering around lower midtable. And then pushed on again the following year.

But also the fact it's already been written off. Phrases like 'wasted opportunity', 'lost all momentum' are already being used in the past tense - we're halfway through August! We've played 3 games! To use another example, Palace the year they went up. This time that season we dicked them 4-1 and they looked utterly woeful. 2 months later they were top 2! I'm not saying that will happen to us but some of the comments are a bit premature and a tad hysterical at the minute tbh.

still pissed off me, fucking hopeless bottle we have, i knew as soon as it was 2-1 it was ending in a draw though

still it didn't take missing out on £227 any easier, losing bets is part and parcel of betting, but when your own team fucks up a 2 goal lead to fuck up your 7 team accumalator it's a bit harder to swallow

then a congratulations from william hill for gaining my stake back because i had 6 winners, i lost it completely and wrote back "fuck off, congratulations to you lucky twats for keeping hold of over £200 , i might have been slightly angry last night

still can't believe it today
