Still haven't calmed down from Sunday's crazy antics to think about this much yet. Whilst that comeback and result papered over a few cracks if we're honest - frankly the confidence will be pumping.

Burnley, Leicester and Southampton coming up in quick succession now, all oppositions we're capable of getting results from, but all pose challenges in their respective ways. Burnley's home record is strong, their crowd don't like us / Howe much so the place will be lively, and Dyche will make them tough to create against and highly competitive in the challenge. We know well enough what our old lad Vokes can do if given a chance.

Howe will need to sort his keeper and back 4 out, the random selection he made against Liverpool was a mess, although it looked far better second half when he corrected their positions and put round pegs in round holes. Going forward even with Stanislas now out we have lots of options and competition. recent subs Fraser and Ibe now pushing hard for starts.

Burnley's home record is excellent; I'd certainly take a point here. It'll be interesting the side that starts; if Eddie gives Fraser the start he earnt against Liverpool, or if we go with King/Ibe (Assuming Stanislas is out). Fraser has always been better drawing mistakes out of tired defenders but you couldn't begrudge him a start after the way he changed the game.

Got a decent passing side there Bournemouth. Gave us a good game. In fairness your disallowed goal, looked like handball in the moment it happened, but looking at the replay was a perfectly good goal. Came off his chest. Those are the breaks I guess. We have had a few go against us as well. Most notably the Arsenal handball in the last minute. Strange how Howe just couldn't get it right at our place and I wasn't sad to see him go to be honest. Football was attractive, but we tended to concede almost at will under Howe. Odd considering he was a decent centre half for your lot too. I'm not the biggest fan of our style of football under Dyche but first things first, stay up and improve the playing staff over time. We pulled the plug on Kamil Grosicki on Deadline Day because of his temperament, but he would have given us a more attacking outlet and more attractive creative options. Oh well! I don't know how you feel about your defending but we went asleep for both of yours. Afobe was not tracked at all and had all the time and space in the world. Daniels should not have been allowed to score from there either. Ironically, the one which wasn't allowed was the one which we probably couldn't do much about. Good to see two former Burnley old boys proving us wrong as well. Stanislas and Pugh were both deemed not good enough for us. Anyway. Good luck for the rest of the season and thanks for beating Liverpool. Living in Liverpool, I always like to see Liverpool fans with sad faces :bg:

Can't comment much on the game as I was unable to attend and only managed to follow via the odd score update. But our usual mixture of ingredients from what I gather.

Exciting but wasteful attacking, loads of possession but slightly clueless defending, Boruc not himself, and some bizarre/unlucky refereeing decisions.

About right for our current run of form. Our lot up in arms as to how Afobe's goal was ruled out, and Pugh wasn't given a penalty. I haven't seen either personally mind. Our lot were pretty upset not to come away with something.

But we can't concede 3 goals a game and expect to pickup many points, we won't always come up against an imploding defence like Liverpool. Dyche knows his onions in that respect. He just needs to stop moaning so much before a match about how poor he is and playing the little man, I mean he spent over 10m on Jeff Hendrick FFS and he's up against Bournemouth, not Barcelona.

Ultimately he won the 3 points of course. Burnley to stop up without much drama, securing more match ups with Howe in the future.

A draw would have been fair. Didn't see much in the Pugh tackle to be honest. Sometimes they are given, sometimes not.
I agree that Dyche needs to chill out on the money thing. It's very unbecoming of him to slate others for spending and then he shells out almost £18 million on two midfielders who haven't really improved us. God knows why we spent £10 million on Hendrick, but we did. Not overly impressed with him or Defour. I'll get slated for saying that by Burnley fans but I just don't get the 'love in' with Defour.
Anyway. I'm no fan of Dyche anyway and wanted shot of him when he last, and despite of us getting promoted the previous time. Don't like his style of football. We spent 20 years getting back to the top flight playing nice football and I want to be entertained.
I agree. I think we'll stay up, just!

And he needs to understand the injury time allocated is a MINIMUM period of time.

Agree. He's not the only one. I think every manager gets that way when the whistle goes well after the minimum requirement. He doesn't half harp on about it though. Not the referee's fault we don't close games down and prefer to commit Hari Kari.
