My Dad's bigger than your dad argument going on here, listen I support Dcfc, and I love my club, like most on here do so for me Dcfc, are the best club out there, started going at 7 in 1979. And fell in love with the mighty Rams, missed all our glory years in the early to mid 70s, missed our riverly with Leeds in the early 70s, but Derby a small city, with great support, and a great record of 2 champions of England and one f.a cup, not bad for one of the smallest city's in England, and like the great Mr Clough said Derby is a footballing city. So to all loyal supporters the one you follow is always the biggest and the best. Once a ram always a Ram.

we averaged higher crowds more times than you have so that ones flawed. So your counting runners up too? Fuck me mate your being desperate now. Yeah you averaged 36k when you went down because your fall from grace was a lot quicker. If you had 5 relegation battles on the bounce like we did then no way would you of averaged that. The moment you dropped into the championship you lost 8k fans where as we have not lost any as our average is the same as we went down. As for honours it's...
Leeds
3 league titles
1 fa cup
1 league cup
Villa
1 league title
1 European cup
5 league cups

You can forget about adding the fairs cup because it's not even recognised as a European trophy, yet again it's desperate. It's like us saying the super cup win is a major trophy. You have a bigger fanbase but you must have the most fair weather fans going. From 65 until now it's pretty even but pre 65 we absolutely dwarfed you. we don't embarrass ourselves by pretending we won the European cup because we actually won it.

Yes sorry mate I have to apologise I got my records wrong, it was actually 15 times to 12 that we beat your attendances:
2000-2004 (5 years) 1994-1995 (2 years) 1990-1992 (3 years) 1988 (1 year) 1964-67 (4 years)
I make that 15 years, care to tell us your 16+ times?

The year we got relegated the 36666 actually beat your attendance that season even though you finished 6th so were you on a decline then?

The fairs cup is recognised by Fifa and is also on the honours lists of Newcastle and Arsenal.

Fair weather fans? it was only 2 years ago you got 25000 fans for a premier league game which is hilarious when you are calling other teams fans shit and lets not forget when you won the European cup which was a fantastic achievement you averaged a measly 26000 and three years later you were averaging 15000 in the top league, fuck me we are forever in your shadow.

well one of us is wrong here about the home averages and I don't think it's me. I posted a few pages back about how many years in the last 50 that we have been in the same division and It worked out we had the better of it. I'm not saying our support is great and we've had some right shit crowds but so have most clubs. Anyway I think we are boring people here so let's drop it.

So we're trying to make a case for club from city of 766,000 people, with another city of around 325,000 just to the south without a football club of its own, drawing less than 25,000 and that being considered good on any level. I'll have to completely disagree. Should be filling the ground every other week. In fact their ground should be too small for them.

I've gone out of my way to make sure I was right. Last 50 years from 67-2017 we have been in the same division 23 times. We averaged an higher attendance than Leeds for 13 of those years. So anyone with half a brain can work out the rest. Case closed, Leeds lad talking shit again.

Nope i said we have been bigger than you since 1964, we have been in the same division 27 times our crowds have been bigger 15 times, I have named the years in an earlier post now unless you name the years you have been bigger just let it go.

ok so we are starting from 1965 because in 64 you weren't in the same league as us. I thought we were going from the last 50 years not 53 years. Either way here we go.....
Years villa averaged higher
76,77,78,79,80,81,82,93,96,97,
98,99,2017= 13
Leeds, 65,66,67,88,91,92,94,95,2000,2001,
2002,2003,2004=13
26 years both in the same division and what a great way to end this argument by saying its a draw. I'm fed up now like everyone else but I had to prove my point.

Classy as always. Large group of young lads in shit Stone Island chanting Russian songs and claiming the English ran away in Marseille; would have liked to have seen them out there.

I was in Marseille and to be fair they aren't talking shit. But blokes who go for a drink and a good time not for fighting why wouldn't you run away. There was plenty of English who didn't run and came out 2nd best, some of the gamest lads I've ever seen. The fighting culture doesn't exist anymore in this country but it all started here so we get targeted everywhere

I can't say much as I wasn't in Marseille, but I've heard stories from people who were out there and it wasn't pretty.

I agree though, but Cardiff have a reputation to uphold as well and those young lads will give it the big'un all day long. Mind you Cardiff aren't the same as they used to be. They would always sell out down here and tore up Elm Park a few times.

Cardiff are a fucking joke now they used to be the best but are quite laughable these days. Can't stand the Welsh c*** to be honest.

For the last few weeks or so i've had a question running through my head and i don't feel that I can fully carry on with my life until I find out the answer so here it is:
I was just wondering to myself who is the biggest, Villa or Leeds?
And I'm curious to know which of them has had the higher attendances for the last 50 or so years.
Does anybody on here know where I can get any of this info?
Cheers..... :animatedf:

very tiresome I know. Attendances don't indicate who's bigger anyway. It's the old two bald men fighting over a comb scenario which we sometimes get dragged into.

8248 wolves at Liverpool today. I know even non league teams take huge followings in the cup but fair play to the dog heads. Can't help but like wolves.

I reckon we could have sold double that if we had the allocation too, tickets we sold out in a day or two.

Wolves cost me £250 today. Bastards.

I had £10 on them at 11/1 :£

bastard. When i saw it was 10/1 I was going to have a punt on the off chance. I've won money from villa beating Liverpool at anfield before and lambert has a decent record up there. Well done anyway.

1,000 sold already for Fulham away on the 4th March, only went on sale Thursday. Decent that.

Shifted 3,000 for Wigan on the 18th of Feb, don't think that will have any trouble selling out.

Can't imagine us taking many to Cardiff this Tuesday night though!

Yeah was surprised about the Lambert fact, apparently he has never lost at Anfield as a player or manager.

I'm sure this won't have mattered one bit to you all of course but it's a shame that neither of your goals were at your end.
I presume you all went nuts anyway :bg1: but I always like watching away teams goals, especially a game like Liverpool away, in front of a packed away end going mental.

Edit: Did any Everton fans cheer off your coaches when you went home? When we beat Liverpool in 2001 loads of Everton fans were hanging out of their windows cheering off our coaches.

It's not the most direct of places to get to, your best bet is Putney Bridge DISTRICT to Westminster then JUBILEE to North Greenwich, 45min.
