This game has obviously really captured the imagination.

I don't really know what to say, bored of saying the same thing. We need to play Ajose, we need to stop being so negative, we need to be a little less shit and we need to win.

Blind optimism, 2-0 CAFC.

The only thing that's negative is yourself.

Did I not just predict a 2-0 win?

Finally, Ajose starts. Hopefully he's desperate to prove a point this afternoon.

Probably about strongest squad we can have out, no excuses today.

There are no planned protests or disruptions for inside the ground but there will certainly be protests outside. CARD who usually organise these things normally announce plans on Twitter around midday for anything special which they have said they will so we'll see what that is.

As for the game itself, we simply cannot be any worse than we were at Bury, hopefully Lookman starts and we get another 1 or 2 in before then. If we start poorly or Northampton get an early goal then I can't see us getting back into it as the atmosphere will turn toxic quickly. We've been awful in the two games so far. As it's still early in the season so I still have some optimism lurking around, so with no real confidence I'll predict a 2-0 win for the Addicks.

Holmes and Ajose.

I've been naturally pessimistic when it comes to Charlton in the last few years so when I'm feeling this optimistic about a game you know you're in trouble (or we are).

Speaking to people about the game on Saturday and they all seem to be saying the same thing, poor in the first half but pretty decent in the second. I'm hopeful that getting our first goal of the season and strong finish to the game will give the players a big boost, I'm sure it will for the fans who will be right behind them from the first minute.

If we're going to win this, Foley has to be dropped for Lookman with Jackson moving back into the middle, other than that the starting 11 on Saturday should be decent enough.

Need this win to get our season up and running before a difficult trip to Walsall.

Cautiously optimistic about a 2-0 home win with both Ajose and Magennis getting off the mark.

When the fixtures first came out I immediately pointed to this one as our first tough test (no offence to Bury, Northampton or Shrewsbury but back in June we would have been hopeful of 7-9 points from those games).

A far better performance from us on Tuesday which has hopefully created a bit of buzz around the changing room. Our last away game was atrocious so I'm looking forward to seeing how we look now with a couple more additions since then.

There seems to be a bit to be positive about from our last three halves of football so confident that we can pick up a good result if we can continue. No doubt this is a difficult game on the road so a draw isn't to be sniffed at, a win would be lovely though with Bolton coming to The Valley next.

Will probably start with the same 11 but I'm still unconvinced by the midfield.

1-1. Ajose finally finding that bit of luck and getting his first goal.

Two relegated sides meet again.

Potential to be a really good game this and sees the return of Phil Parkinson to The Valley for the first time since being relieved of his duties.

Their unbeaten run has to end at some point and I'm confident we're the ones to end it. Slade will probably stick withthe same starting 11 barring any injuries but Lookman has to be getting closer to starting.

Hopefully we can make a bit of statement with a 3-1 win. Ajose and Holmes again with a first goal for Josh Magennis.

Decent enough side out.

3-0 Charlton.

Quite enjoyed my day but jesus we are poor. That club doesn't deserve our support.

Why did Ricky Holmes apparently get abuse from home fans? Thought he had been doing well for you guys.

Think it was only a handful in the corner, no idea really. Easily one of - if not - our best player this season.

Whatever they said to him obviously worked though, few minutes later he went on a run from halfway and put in the cross for Novak's winner!
