There's a game happening isn't there this weekend.

We've really got to try and bounce back from Tuesday, by all accounts it was by far our worst performance under Alexander and we didn't even look like scoring. The most important thing is how we respond to that, a win here would be massive.

Agree, confidence makes a team play much much better.

After a defeat or under par performance doubt can creep in.
It's these types of matches that can prove to be massive, a potential turning point in the season.

Nothing personal but I'll be supporting Chesterfield for this, come on Ched you're due a goal or 3.

We need to be positive.

It's no good GA saying that we are playing 433 when we are really playing 451. We have the goalscorers, let them play.

Good to see another Iron fan onboard. Welcome KetIron. I don't find 4-5-1 needing to be negative, but it does when we look to hit Hopper all the time. As good as we were at Walsall and Bury, we were bad at Oldham. Being at all those games makes me wonder what I am going to see at Chesterfield. KVV and Madden up top for me and less high ball. Play it on the deck more.

We were fantastic today, brilliant in every area, Murray Wallace and Kevin Van Veen were unbelievable. The perfect way to bounce back from a defeat.

We are bad. Very, very, very bad.

Scunthorpe miles better than us all over the park. It's embarrassing how easy a place we're making this for other teams to come and collect the points, week after week.

What the fuck is Wilson telling them to do, 4th blank in a row, and yet we can't defend for shit either. This is honestly worse than at the end of Saunders' reign. This club is rotten from top to bottom.

Oh and Gary Liddle, do me a favour, fuck off and go and make a career change because there is no way you are a footballer.

It still amazes me to this day that Gary Liddle is a League One footballer.

The amount of shite we've seen at Latics over the years and I still wouldn't have found room for Liddle.

Yeah Liddle is wànk. Genuinely don't know what he's in the team for. Like what does he do? Cant pass. No pace. Makes the odd decent tackle but that's mainly out of desperation because his first touch is horrendous.

We are an awful awful side, the whole club is a shambles.

Seems to me Scunny are pretty much where we were at in L2: an ambitious chairman underwriting a side full of proven talent and a manager capable of sorting 'em out.
Fair play for that.
And fair play for larging it up when things are going their way.
One thing, though: barely twelve hundred at a local-ish game when top of the league?

Scunny: a chairman chucking money in and populating a side with proven talent.

Us: a chairman sucking money out and populating a side with enthusiastic but limited youngsters.

Whilst tolerating chancers and opportunists yet blaming subsequent losses on fans.

Allegedly.

As is so often the case, it'll probably take the near death of the host for parasites to loosen their grip.

I said earlier on this thread, KVV and Madden up top for me and less high ball. Play it on the deck more. That is exactly how we played it and we could all see the difference. Much much better than just hitting it to Hopper and playing off him, which we have slipped into playing. No isolation up top yesterday. Van Veen ran it all going forward and Madden should have had a couple of goals. We should have beaten Chesterfield by more than we did. Defence was solid, with Wallace in command. Young Sutton had a very good league debut at right back. All round good performance. Thought Chesterfield were poor, but it was difficult for them against us. We were commanding and controlled most of the game.

Good performance from everyone. Especially pleased for Levi, he is a great prospect.

The Derby Tup has to be the best pub for away fans in the Football league. Excellent.
