I'd be amazed if there wasn't better midfielders than Noble in the Conference. Capable of the best individual moments, maybe, but he isn't suddenly going to become consistent and sensible by dropping a division.

Talked to a mate who's knows a couple of Notts fans.

Apparently Noble hasn't got much of a brain and gets frustrated on the pitch at times, but generally he's a top lad off it. Reckon he'll fit in well here and be a real assett, the standard of this league is actually a fair bit worse then League 2 and he'll be a class apart.

Noble's massively overrated. His positional discipline is woeful.

All things considered, a belter of a signing. It'll have taken serious money to get him to drop down a level and move further away from his young family, who still live in Newcastle.
I don't think he'll be expected to do much defending in Cooper's preferred 3-5-2, so positional play might not be much of an issue.
Also I doubt too many clubs were banging down his door with his disciplinary record.

I don't think I have ever seen alan Alger post anything positive about anything on twitter. Ever.

I even got into a debate with him about his beloved arsenal after he slated the love for rosicky

Alger posts things for a reaction. All he does is post facts and put a slightly biased opinion on it. Get over it.

Refs are more card happy down here, so Noble will probably spend 15 games of the season suspended.

Have all 'picked on' FGR, have I missed anyone from the inferiority complex list?

Macc Lads, info on Danny Andrew? We've just signed him.
Class. By far the Best left back down here a couple of seasons ago. Had a bad injury last year so just need him to be fit, but has a superb engine to get up and down all day, but doesn't lose any of his defensive qualities despite being excellent going forwards.

Askey is brilliant at finding left backs - Andrew, Barrow and Fitzpatrick are all quality for this level. Out of the three though, Andrew is the pick of the bunch. Fairly solid defensively, and brilliant going forward being particularly good at running at pace with the ball, crossing and shooting. As the other Macc fans have said, he is also a great free kick taker, and scored several great free kicks for us. All in all, I think he's an excellent signing for you.

The difference is that FGR aren't bothered about value for money.
Disagree .. I think we have enough money to justify taking the risk on whether he will turn out to be value. And on balance we decided he was worth it. And yes I accept that not all clubs have that luxury. I also heard from someone at the club last night that only one other club had approached him, so wasn't really in demand.

Andi Thanoj despite apparently being retained by us has signed for Harrogate Town. Were a joke at the moment. Genuinely concerned we are in danger next season. This could happen to any one of the other players that "have been retained" I fear. No official retained list yet, (if their ever will be one" Nothing whatsoever concrete on the website. Shambolic.

Olly Mehew, an 18 year old striker who had been deemed surplus to requirements by Bristol Rovers, the son of former Rover Dave Mehew. Cooper has signed a few younger players, who are probably a bit of a risk, but maybe this is part of his master plan. I still think we are short of a goalkeeper, a defender or two and probably a striker. We have a lot of midfielders!
