Having seen the highlights I'm not convinced our goal to make it 2-2 should have been disallowed. Looks to me like Kennedy could have been level.

Guthrie should have had about six by the end haha, just never looked like that third was going to ever quite go in for him. Especially after the one that crashed off the underside of the bar and came back out.

Pathetic defending if I'm being honest. Re. the disallowed goal, I can see why it wasn't given, even with the extra benefit of pausing the video just before the shot comes in.

Are our defenders really that bad as individuals though or is it the policy of trying to pass it out from the back? I'm sure most of our comical errors this season are ones where if only we'd just cleared our lines. I think Curle maybe expects a bit too much from League Two defenders, they may be able to sidestep their man in training, and occasionally do it on the pitch too, it's not that they don't have footwork at all, Curle has probably assembled a defence with a bit of a focus on skill, but they don't seem to have the decision-making to just hoof it when playing isn't an option.

Curle has said before where a goal has been conceded due to our aversion to what Michael Raynes calls 'boomsville' that he doesn't want them to pass at any cost and still expects them to just clear it when they need to, but they don't always clear it enough, and the BBCRC commentators have both commented at times that maybe under Curle, defenders are too eager to show they can play.

I think we have some very good players further up the pitch and perhaps need to show a little more faith in them, because usually the argument against clearing it is that it just comes straight back. That argument works when you're a shit team at the bottom end of the table, which is what we're used to being, but I think when you're in the automatic promotion places in the second half of the season, it's probably because you have players capable of winning and chasing the ball in the opponent's half.
