What's going on there then?

11th, with one win in their last six.

Best manager in the National League Ronnie Moore needs to spend more money.

Would you be that bothered about winning if you were winding down your career with one last pay day? It's the non-league equivalent of playing in Qatar.

The fa cup has taken their attention from the league.

The year we won at goodison and came back from three down to beat southampton before losing to liverpool in the qf we got relegated the whole focus was on the amazing cup run.

We were bottom of the league but everyone was looking at the cup our focus was completely wrong.

Still doesnt wipe out the memory of singing ' are you chester in disguise' at goodison though when we were three up! Although being in the gwladys with my blue nose mate i was very quiet

They are not actually that good to trouble the top. Team is full of players on their way down the pyramid whom will only turn up when it suits them. Plus Ronnie Moore is a very overrated manager and an inexperienced one at this level.

You need a team that is consistently hungry at this level.

We started their current slide beating them 1-0 at their place with 4 of our regular players out.

They were pretty toothless against us in the TV game a few weeks ago, We beat them 4-0 and it could easily have been 6 or 7.
Mandron didn't even look like a footballer when he came on - although he seams to have discovered where the net is since...
The guy they signed from Sutton will improved them a lot - but not enough...

Same against us. They looked a decent, solid outfit with a good spine but lacked that bit of 'something'.

Agree on Mandron. Offered nothing at our place either. Didn't seem to have a brain in him.

Even we took a point off them. And they were leading 3-1in the second half.

Moore is years past his sell by, he's gone there for a bit extra in the old retirement fund.

Hmm, cant disagree with any of the above comments, but we will come good. Lots of new players, continually adding to the squad, another 4 in in the last 2 weeks, really doesn't help with consistency or continuity of the starting line up, but with 7 now out injured, some of them longterm, we have had to get in replacements. Some of these replacements will strengthen us, but others are not only worse than the injured lads they are replacing, but they are worse than those we already had on the bench.
There's always another 1.5m - 2m budget to try again next season....If we get to round 4 of the FA cup and draw a biggie away in rounds 3 or 4, then all the bandwaggon fans will think its been a good season..and tbf, maybe the owner will too, although i know he desperately wants to get to the FL. Hence why he keeps on chucking money at it. Personally speaking, i think just keeping a settled side, even if its not as good on paper, would probably help us, rather than bringing in new players every week trying to find winning formula.
Ronnie Moore has started to come in for some scrutiny on our forum, right now most seem to be behind him and feel he needs to be given time, which is fair enough, but there are others who feel he's not the man for us.

With all these new signings, we are in that territory i would have thought. Other than Ross Flitney, we haven't released anyone, and the likes of N'gala & Reda Johnson were bought in on huge money after we had assembled our side. Add to that at least 6 other new signings since Moores arrival and the new lads alone, must be in the region of 500k a year between them.

Does FFP not exist in any form down here?

Can't imagine any clubs other than us and maybe Dagenham with parachute payments can actually afford a £1m+ wage bill.

Nope.

The leagues where they have no FFP, but are more than happy to throw you down 5 or 6 leagues for being in financial trouble.

Our budget is nowhere near a million pounds even with Parachute payments, around £600-£750k maximum.

They pretend to, but with the £GR stooges on the Conference board, a pretence is all it is. :£:£:£:£:£:£:£:£:£:£

They were pretty underwhelming today. Plenty of possession but did absolutely nothing with it.

Moore's a bit like a kid in a sweet shop at the moment and it ain't working.

Do the Daggers have any injury concerns, I wasn't aware of any?

Eastleigh's forum is excellent. The highlights:
- "Lost my ST and finally found it 5 mins after ko so didn't bother going. Think it was a lucky portent misplacing it, saved me from suffering today's effort."
- "I wasn't impressed by the booing at full time; but, if it's ever going to take place, I guess this game was the right moment."
- "I was only listening to the radio so don't have a full assessment, but from what I heard, we were great in midfield"
- "Absolute rubbish, over paid prima donnas with no passion for the club or the game."
- "To what extent is the pitch to blame?"

I'm astonished they expect the mercenaries lured in with megabucks to acquire "passion" for their club. Everything I've said about these sort of outfits over the last few years is vindicated in that one sentence. I should be on the telly. :bdick:

Post of the year this one - "It has occurred to me that in hindsight, Chester's No6 wasn't tested for pace and he had a beer gut and man boobs."

They're actually debating whether they should spend £1m on Akinde.

http://tssc-eastleighfc.proboards.com/thread/3582/ronnie?page=1

I like this post;

"If John Akinde is quoted at £1m it has to be seriously considered surely? That is all we are really lacking and I'd be confident of getting a PO spot with him in our team. I'll go further by suggesting if Lincoln win the league that would probably be to our advantage as whoever the other three PO teams were, we'd be favourites to climb up to the FL. Yesterday was a one off fluke result and I thought the referee gave Chester everything as well. Maidstone can't come soon enough, the players need to get yesterday out of their system. Hopefully RM does not make big changes from the starting 11 yesterday, we need to see a settled 11 apart from injuries and suspensions til the New Year and review things through the January transfer window. Chester threw bodies everywhere yesterday and to be honest they defended very well, it was a real smash and grab raid...job done, on their coach and home with the three points!!!"
