Thank god there's something else to talk about.

Ours is an interesting one, El Sarllico as everyone* is calling it. We're quietly confident because of our great run of form, however they are buoyed by the appointment of Paul Tisdale. Could be a good match, the tv money will come in very handy whatever happens.

We're only facing the highest-ranked side in the tournament, away from home, who are unbeaten in 18. Nowt to worry about.

Big opportunity for us and Kiddy at Aggborough. Both have been given a golden chance here to get to round 3. We will head in favourites I suspect but they are flying in the National north and have won at least their last 5.

We haven't been in the 3rd round for 33 years I'm not sure what their stats are in that regard.

Nerves are already kicking in. Not sure when either club will have a better chance than this

700+ tickets sold. £34k prize money and the prospect of a windfall draw in the next round. Can't see them giving us a harder game than we've already had against Pontefract. :bdick:

Think we said at the time of the draw with the teams that were left in the draw this was the best draw possible for both of us.

In the 13-14 season we made it to round 4 before losing to Sunderland but since then I'd say the furthest we've got is the 1st round. But as far as I'm aware Penn wanted to reach the 4th Qualifying round so our progession so far has just been a bonus. We should be able to go out and play without any pressure really.

I can see Sunday being a great game our best chance is to win it on Sunday if it goes to a replay I don't see us winning.

They reckon we could get close to 3500-4000 at Aggborough with maybe about 900 of you.

I hope one of your players 'challenges' for a ball and gets sent off

With your current form and home crowd, i would consider it almost evens in terms of odds. On paper and with our form then we should see our way through but players take FA cup games for granted at their peril and we will have to be at our best to make the 3rd round. I tend to agree though in that a replay would be very much stacked in our favour.
Praying that the dickheads stay away from this for once but the 4pm KO has me a little concerned that it'll be kicking off somewhere.

Yep, football stadia that double as athletics stadia are invariably wack.
Thankfully the only one I’ve been to was Harlow Town when we beat them in the FA Cup in 90/91!
Gateshead look up for this though.

Played quite well and deserved a replay tonight but it wasn’t to be. Now onto trying to mount a title challenge.

He’s issued an apology this morning after listening to his commentary back

Gateshead can consider themselves unlucky, whilst we obviously controlled the majority of the game all the game’s best chances fell their way, had they been a bit more clinical we would have been bang in trouble.

100%. The Withdean was horrendous when Brighton played there, I remember us playing there a couple of times, we all needed binoculars. Also when Rotherham played at Don Valley. Ridiculous.

Looking forward to Buxton vs Morecambe at lunch time today. Two similar size clubs, should be a good game..

Couple of local Chesterfield/Dronfield lads on show for Buxton in Diego De Girolamo and Warren Clarke as well, along with a couple of ex spireites James Hurst and Jamie Ward. Reckon we could see an upset in the cards!!

Onto our game Sunday, as Cashis said, 12 out for us (what’s new?) with Williams also being cup tied. So makes team selection straight forward I guess. Personally I would be going as strong as we can, don’t think we should be playing Minter or Tyson in this one, so my XI would be:

3-4-2-1

Loach
Kerr - Grimes - Croll
Whittle - Weston - McCourt - Miller
Mandeville - Kellerman
Tshimanga

Have Buxton got a few quid or something? Seem to have a load of ex-league players knocking about there, picked up Ben Turner from us in the summer as well, although he appears to be injured in a shocking turn of events.

They’d at least be an interesting one to buy their way up the leagues rather than yet another identical area of London.

How many London teams have done it?

All the ones from the top of my head are up north.

Maybe I’m just traumatised by Boreham Wood tbf. Bromley as well have definitely got some dollar behind them, and Dorking seem certain to be the next one.

Buxton appear to have James Hurst playing for them. He can't be 1 of their star players???
