The Gurkha regiment has been a long standing, loyal and very influential part of the British forces, they deserve as much respect as any other British servicemen.

Agreed. Tbf, and in the interests of people in glass houses who might be considering chucking a few stones around, it was the Labour Government under Brown that seemed determined to block Gurkhas from settling in the UK after their service.

Championing their case was one of the best things Clegg has ever done in politics. Not that there's a huge amount more on that list.

I don't always agree with Labour policies, which is natural as id only agree with 100% of them if I drafted them!

I was never comfortable with Brown, I was one of the disillusioned Labour voters who didn't vote in 2010... But I still whinged when the Tories got in, so lesson learned.

yes and they are not happy that the truth has came out.

I voted tory last election and I still say it was the right decision, but they have lost me this election due to frankly being cowardly, devious and utterly negative for the last 2 months.

People voted for them last time knowing it meant some tough decisions based on the belief they had that making these tough decisions had to happen......therefore they should not need to cower or hide at tough questions or consequences of these decisions as the ones voting for them knew it had to happen, yet they have tried their hardest to not defend it and fob blame off still on Labour.

add in that unlike 5 years ago they won't give details of what they want to do and try and hide instead behind a full on negative campaign of 'do not vote for the other lot or you'll regret it' style...........and well frankly they have zero reason to vote for them.

what began as a campaign of defending what they did and trying to ask for more time to complete it has turned into some anti-SNP attack job which in my view has been done politically in the hope to wind people in Scotland up enough to vote SNP and thus take off a lot of Labour seats.

The Tories have had a pathetic campaign and I think the country is beginning to wake up to their lies.

Slowest economic growth for 100 years, national debt risen to 1.4 trillion, over 1m uses of food banks, cost of living chaos.

Yet all the tough decisions are only ever aimed at the working class and they sit and defend non-dom's.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a labour majority and all the scaremongering about the SNP irrelevant.

We have a Parliamentary system and use first past the post. Ergo, it's theoretically possible for Cameron to lose his seat and for the Conservatives to get fewer votes than another party yet still form a majority government.

I thought Clegg absolutely owned that tonight by a long long way,

you notice 2 things though from Clegg's section which are very interesting. He is easily the only one of the 3 people can feel comfortable with, it was 'Mr Cameron' or 'Mr Miliband' on the questions from public but it was always 'Nick' from the public on his questions so people do i think feel alot more as ease with Clegg than the other two.

but another thing was it took maybe 15 minutes for Clegg to get some claps from any of the crowd, while the other 2 got it throughout, which does highlight the lack of faith from most in Lib Dems from the public in general, even the mix of Lib Dem voters in that crowd didn't get behind him on alot of answers for a while, he really had to work his socks off to get people clapping his answers.

but i did think tonight was the first time Clegg done what he should have been doing for months and months.....just speaking openly and honestly to people who voted Lib Dem in 2010.....he may have grabbed more of them back voting if he'd done what he did tonight months and months ago.
