Shinnie and Lee dropped for us today replaced by Butterfield and Moncur respectively.

Shinnie wasn’t his best last Friday but feel that’s harsh, especially as I thought Butterfield looked way off the pace as well. With the level Shinnie can reach I’d have hoped he would get another chance. Perhaps more defensive minded replacement though so understandable perhaps.

Doubt we will be as open but we’ll see.

Like the look of the team today. Hopefully Johnson is given the freedom to play in his best position as the number 10.

If Mowbray lasts the whole season as manager you can mark us odds on for relegation, his selections and substitutions are fucking clueless.Long season ahead if the first couple of games are to go by for us.

Quality that, absolutely took the piss out of Wigan at times.

Sat back a bit in the second half and it all got a bit scrappy but a very good peformance, Wigan were just resorting to pot shots from range, don't think they had a real chance. Bauer & Davies look a good partnership.

Paul Gallagher was unbelievable, 10/10 performance, top class passing and his goal was a beauty.

Very happy for Moult, he's a good player, hope he can avoid injury and go on a real run. DJ stepped up too against the club who tried to loan him.

Big dampener at the end though, Hughes looks like he tweaked his hamstring which would leave us with no recognised left back.

Oh well. Gutting in the end but Cardiff could have had a few more before half time. Annoying that it was Vassell to get the winner, former player who were looking to sign. As soon as he came on I just KNEW he was going score the winner and so it proved.

Finding it odd how we are using Collins these first 2 games, not sure its doing him or the team any favours as he seems to be playing deeper than normal.

Showed we can compete which is good signs. Work definitely needs to be done on defending balls in the box, feel the 2 centre halves are not comfortable with the new keeper just yet. Last season we were comfortable with it I felt but less so this so far.

Also anyone else being bombarded with ads on this site on mobile right now? Bloody annoying!

Well we lost but was definitely worth the trip. The team stood toe to toe with a relegated Premier League side with a huge financial advantage over us, who remember their last league victory was up against Manchester United.

We kept the same formation as last weekend, although we were a bit more circumspect and not as assertive as usual - naturally going by the opposition. I think we could’ve upped the gas a bit more - Cardiff are a difficult side to play against but we were never going to be played off the park. We dominated possession in reality, although I’m not sure we believed we could win today.

Butterfield clearly now up to full fitness ran the show in midfield, but that said, Cardiff don’t play with one... it’s bypassed. They are a typical Neil Warnock / Kevin Blackwell side. I wasn’t overly impressed (they certainly are effective) and if it wasn’t for a 96th minute winner by Isaac Vassell (who else) we’d be coming away with a very impressive point.

I need to see the goals again, but I’m not convinced Sluga comes out with much glory on either.

Brilliant support as always. We go again next week v WBA. Doesn’t get any easier!

Good too hear. I'm abroad so got a match pass to watch on ifollow but it was shite so gave up.

I really hope that Alex Neil gives DJ a proper chance in the 10 role at home, quality player on his day.

If Hughes has done his hamstring it's incompetence at its best from the club. Earl should never have been loaned out until we had a replaement in place.

Another great win for us.

Our midfield looks really good now. Cullen top drawer as always, Williams brilliant and Gallagher is going to be some player (already is) can’t believe he’s only 19, man of the match for me.

There was a spell of about 15 minutes when Stoke were just playing us off the park and was thinking ‘Shit. This ain’t league one anymore’ but we rode the storm and ended up being the better side in the second half. Deserved win.

Not getting carried away but one thing I can take from the first two games is that teams that beat us will have worked bloody hard for it.

Good win and performance from us yesterday, should have been more than the 2. Was a bit concerned before the game after seeing a lot of Barnsley but with the added energy in our side we out pressed their press and it was like men against boys at times. Only early days and we haven't played anyone dangerous (on paper) but very promising signs. If Bullen keeps the ship steady while we get the managerial appointment right we might push the top 6. Shame the cup game with Bury has been called off as it would have been good to get some of other lads some minutes, but we should be well rested for Millwall at the den next week.

Yep I bet they are in need of a rest, it's been a very demanding season hasn't it, the players must be shattered.
