The most German photo ever taken.
Nah they're not wearing denim and don't have mullets.

Diaz equalises in Karlsruhe to avoid relegation for Hamburg. Extra-time now.

Hamburg equalise in the 91st minute to take it to extra time.

I love the Bundesliga!

Hang on, though. That was TEN minutes, wasn't it?! Do the Germans just love penalties or something?

Edit: no it wasn't, the clock on my stream was just lying (or I'm just an idiot)

Couldn't really understand what was going on at the end there, my German GCSE being almost totally forgotten. Did away goals count or something, meaning the 2nd killed the game? The crowd/commentators didn't seem that excited about the penalty at the end.

Ah well. That's why I'm not a big fan of this play-off, the upper division side always wins. Can't say it's undeserved really. Hamburg will be in the Bundesliga by the skin of their teeth. Again.

1860 host Kiel tomorrow evening. Now that's big!

Aggregate. Just like any other two-legged tie. Karlsruhe needed two once Hamburg went in front

Yeah dude away goals count. Meaning that had the penalty been scored, Hamburg still would have gone through. Good save by Adler mind.

Yes away goals count unfortunately, a bit weird at the end, guess the penalty didn't really matter.

Yeah, away goals. Although you many well have been similarly confused listening to the English commentary - BT's duo still seemed to be getting inexplicably excited with 30 second to go "it's still all to play for"!!! despite acknowledging that Karlsruher needed two goals...

MM must be happy today. 1860 avoid the drop in the additional time. they scored the winner in 90+1 and were 0:1 down at home until the 78th minute. first leg in Kiel finished 0:0

Hadn't seen none of it. Not particularly happy. Bit like Hamburg, I reckon relegation would have given the whole place the kick up the arse it needs. Ah well. Tough shit Kiel.

Few transfers I've seen recently..

Admir Mehmedi and Roman Burki have both left Freiburg upon relegation, moving to Leverkusen and Dortmund respectively. Think Burki is a good addition for BVB, although I'm interested in what happens with Weidenfeller/Langerak as I imagine Burki will become the new number one?

Kev De Bruyne is persistently linked with Man City, while Roberto Firmino is often linked with Man Utd. I hope not.

If I were Kev, I wouldn't want to go back to England. Much better treated in Germany. He seems settled in Wolfsburg and will want a strong season before the Euros.
A player of Firmino's stature shouldn't be plying his trade at Hoffenheim tbh.

Yep, I'd stick around another year if I were him too. Also agree on Firmino, but would rather he went somewhere like Dortmund or Arsenal as opposed to United!

Burki and Langerak vying for #1 with Weidenfeller shown the door. He's been crap the last two seasons.

De Bruyne should stick with Wolfsburg unless Juventus come calling; he'd be the perfect player to improve them. They're desperate for an attacking midfielder for the play to run through. I imagine Pogba and Pirlo will be off, so he'd play in front of Vidal - Marchisio - Pererya with Morata and Dybala in front of him. Selfishly, I'd rather see him stick around in the Buli. He's a £50m player judging by the quotes for Sterling!

..or Langerak to Stuttgart to replace Ulreich, and Weidenfeller given one more season as back up (and so he can get a proper send off from the club, perhaps). Certainly no need for the three of them, just wonder whether Langerak will get sick of being number two every year.

Could see Kirschbaum getting promoted to Stuttgart #1 tbh...
