Seven goals and that's without Aubameyang and Reus, now imagine with them...

Calm yourselves, it was only Paderborn.

Schalke v Gladbach is interesting. The hosts had a few chances to open the scoreline in the first half but didn't take. Gladbach opened the scoreline shortly before half-time as Matip's pass was intercepted by Stindl. Hazard made it 2 from the spot early in the second half. Score hasn't changed since.
What is everyone's opinion on Gladbach? Started the season terribly but they beat Wolfsburg and Schalke (twice). Reckon they're a strong shout for 3rd as I reckon Dortmund won't let that 2nd spot off easy.

Perfect example of a manager coming in and making an instant impact!

Know what you mean MM - we beat them 2-0 in Pre-Season.

After Lucien Favre got out Monchengladbach is reacting. They're doing good lately and with that recover it's possible to reach some stability and if they do it in fact they probably will be in the fight for the first positions above Bayern and Dortmund since those two's positions are most likely "untouchable".

I'm starting to doubt that Dortmund's outstanding form will last all season. Gladbach look like a serious contender (4-1 win at Hertha - who are in very good form - yesterday) and I wouldn't be surprised if they finished above Dortmund.
Schalke are falling to pieces though. Another terrible performance yesterday at home to Ingolstadt yesterday.

Out of curiosity - why's that? They rebounded well from the hammering in Munich and are the most lethal offense in Europe outside of Bayern, currently. I think they'll finish 10 points behind Munich, but I can't see any side beating them for 2nd. Wolfsburg and Gladbach should finish out the CL places.

I highly doubt they will keep this record of scoring up but I see no reason for a huge change in performance levels, unless they lose Reus/Aubameyang to injuries or whatever.

Hugely impressed with Gladbach's response after Favre resigned, and they add another dimension to the race for European football. I must say I expected more from Schalke thus far.

St Pauli going well in the bundesliga 2 despite some indifferent recent form. Third with a very impressive defence. Scoring goals seems to be the problem this season but I'm still hopeful of a promotion and the renewal of hostilities with Hamburg.

I take it for early season enthusiasm. They look superb don't get me wrong but I reckon the play won't be as fluid as time goes on.

If you think Wolfsburg and Gladbach won't finish in the CL places then who will?

Phrasing difference - "finish out" as in make up the last two spots.

I don't think Leverkusen can be completely disregarded from the race for CL. Out of the top 6, it looks like Schalke would be the one to end up battling for 6th place with the clubs that have a good season, like Augsburg last time out.

I agree. Leverkusen are the only side I can see beating out Wolfsburg and Gladbach. It looks like they'll advance to the Europa knockout rounds at the very least which might affect league form.

Perhaps, though they are usually involved in the knockout rounds of European competitions anyway [albeit only usually the first one!]. I wouldn't be surprised to see them usurp Roma for that second spot, with Roma having to go to the Camp Nou next.

I do enjoy the Bundesliga. It's extremely exciting and interesting at both ends of the table, even if the title is usually a foregone conclusion! It would be nice if Dortmund are able to keep the gap at a shortish distance for the length of the season this time, though.

How would they cope with the Europa league if BL dropped out of the Champions league.

Dortmund of course have no issues but Augsburg have struggled probably summing up the difference in squads nicely..

Sané will move on in the next 18 months/two years for a big fee. One of the biggest up and coming stars in the Buli right now.

he could make his debut vs France, the other nation he is eligible to play for.

btw: did you know that the most gifted players are not allowed to represent Germany at any level until they made the first team squad? they want to protect them from playing too many matches and it is accepted by the DFB ( our youth coach is for 20 years in charge and knos best when you take a look which players he had formed in Neuer, Höwedes, Özil, Draxler, Gündogan, Meyer, Sane). by winning three of the last four under 19 championships you will find hardly Schalke players in the german youth teams
Sané for example made his debut for Germany 12 months ago for the under 19, he had already scored in the Bundesliga at this point

Dortmund vs Schalke was a nice match. Dortmund has an astounding positioning and could be superior to Schalke but Schalke on the other hand fought until the end. And I read that Reus, Sahin and Kirch were watching the game at stadium on Schalke's bleachers, such courage.

Augsburg really are having a tough time - not surprised about the other relegation strugglers.

St Pauli went goal crazy last night with lennart thy scoring all the goals in a 4-0 win against fortuna. Second now in buli 2 level on points with top of the table Freiburg. :woot:

Confident Augsburg will survive though. Finish around 13th or 14th.

Hamburg may not actually need a relegation play off this year!!!

I'm pissed off that I wasn't able to get a ticket for Bremen v Hamburg next week through the normal channels. Werder strike me as a club wanting to be great what with no tickets on general sale for the big games but they play shit football and it's completely run-down place (I've never been).
Sure I could pay 100€+ on viagogo but I'm not doing that for an encounter between a side that is going down and a side that will settle for mid-table mediocrity.
I'll just go to Hamburg and get pissed. That's usually good.

Rant over.

So Werder got trounced by Wolfsburg. Good.

I'd like Stuttgart to go down with them. Nothing against the schwaabs but if they want to properly rebuild they need to go down. It's time.

Hamburg had their best performance of the season (until now) against Dortmund. They had total control of the game and Dortmund couldn't even outline a reaction.
