Great knowledge tbf. Do you work for the FA?

Ha, no, just having watched my club in recent years play through steps 6 5 and 4, the changes in grounds and the changes we've had to make to the ground we've been at - you pick up a few things.

I'm surprised Woking have got the grade tbh, they've only got 1 stand that isn't falling to pieces.

Their "safety" barriers also fall to pieces whenever they get a decent away following...

That's Chris. He's worked very hard for that title.
Actually you have a point, he is head and shoulders the best clown on this forum...
Ok I'll get my coat.

Ground gradeing is getting more relaxed look at all the clubs that were not allowed in football league years ago. Went to sollihull a few weeks ago and there does seem to be improvements but not sure if it meets criteria. No proper main stand just a over hang from club house. Behind new terracing which was still not open there was no proper fencing up just temp fencing. Also was not hard standing throughout. It sure makes mockery of league when clubs are allowed up with no intention of upgradeing ground and knowing they ate heading straight back down. A club in league below should have ground there abouts for next step up

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
I see Poole Town, the local club next to Bournemouth, are under pressure to improve their ground before the deadline or they'll be out of the National South (despite sitting 4th) and down to the Southern Premier. They've got planning permission for new 'terrace units' (?) and floodlights but they need to find 70k from somewhere imminently to pay for it.

Well our new stand is on course to be finished in time
Will our match with you next month be a ticket affair, or will we be able to pay on the gate?

Good stuff fella :2thumb:
If we'd failed to achieve the grading by the end of March last year we would have been relegated regardless of league position at the end of the season. With planning problems it went down to the wire!

I expect you can pay on the day, I don't think Torquay was all ticket. That said, arrive early if you want to see anything and bring a step stool if you're short :p

I answered this in the post above! If it does become all ticket you'll get around 250-300 though, which I'd imagine will be more than enough (Aldershot got 300 and are complaining it's not sufficient *shrug*).

Is this whole thing just relating to teams below the National Premier?

No, Ferriby, Solihull, and ourselves have to pass by March 31st to stay in the National.

Hahaha thanks for the welcome. Hopefully I never have to inhabit this part of the forum long term, I do like to pop in though, especially for the Tinpot thread :)

It's always been Moors hasn't it??

Have I missed a long standing joke or summat?

Depends how you define always. Solihull Moors were formed about ten years ago via a merger between Solihull Borough and Moor Green.

Thanks Sliver Stone. I missed the post above. I'll be staying in a place called Harrietsham that week and will go to the Gallagher at the end of my stay. We have a larg-ish southern following and it's a new ground, so I would expect 200+ to make the journey.

In Woking's defence, these are not safety barriers, merely perimiter fences. Those Aldershot fans were in an area in front of the safety barriers (which are marked yellow), an area they are prohibited from entering unless they are walking to or from the terrace.
To point the finger at Woking over this is like saying a small perimiter fence failed to do it's job as someone got on the pitch. It's not what they are intended for.

Is the standard expected that required to be a football league club?
I don't think so, I'm not sure what the FL standard is but in the Conference you need a capacity of 4,000 with at least 600 covered seats and the ability to segregate (I think, others will know better).

So I am guessing there are a lot of clubs in the National Premier who are way off having correct facilities for the football league? Seems a bit daft to get this close to the professional game and not have the correct facilities to progress
