Ched Evans on loan is our first linked striker. If he works hard and can hold the ball up he’ll do for me.

I'd be pissed off if so, but his foot issue doesn't seem to be going away, only managed 3 starts because of it.

Will Boyle being linked with Portsmouth and Dan Crowley with Burton.

Boyle hasn't played since September, but he's always being linked with moves away so this is nothing new. Crowley is only on a deal until January - we've offered him a new one but it seems his agent is playing silly buggers again, having learned nothing from the summer.

Mark Hughes who is at Bristol Rovers we're being linked with in January as a player/coach.
Can't think why. Since we signed him from Stanley he has'nt done anything except get injured.

This one absolutely makes sense as we definitely need a centre half in Jan. Could be difficult as there seem to be plenty of League One teams looking for a centre half and we are easily outbid these days. I think Wednesday were sniffing around in the summer so may also be back in for him.

As I said, he's been linked with clubs for the past couple of years.

I love Boylo, he's our longest serving player and he can be a rock in defence and is brutal in the opposition box - but his injury record is such that I'm prepared to cut and run.

Do you think Crowley is the player we need? He's next level but possibly too next level for the squad we have and don't think we would maximize what he can do as a result. From what I've seen having him May and Wright playing together just doesn't work.

Doesn't look like there is anything in this.

If he's fit then we would be fucking idiots to let him go.

Rumour came from Nixon and he's normally on the button with us, so I expect we've made an enquiry at least. I'd be happy with him, but his injury does worry me. We need a guaranteed starter right up to the end of the season.

I just don't see why we let him go, Lowe supposedly impressed with him in training. Big impact player.

Dion Charles supposedly close to being a done deal. 19 goals at this level last season, good addition given our current limited options up top.

Papers up north linking us and Bradford with Dundee's midfielder, Shaun Byrne. Nope, me neither.

Looks like the tribunal for Scott Twine’s move to Franchise has been set at £250,000 rising to £400,000 depending on appearances.

Sounds very reasonable.

I think Wednesday can still only signs freebies and out of contract players.

West Brom interested in Lang according to their local press. He signed a new long-term deal a couple of months ago, so unless there's a release clause they'll probably need eight figures to get him, such is his importance to us and our position in the league. I suspect they'll opt for someone more Championship proven at that price.

Has anyone ever gone for that much in League One?

Ridiculous. Of course not. And neither will Lang.

I dont think its ridiculous in any way shape or form. You sell a player for what you believe he is worth.
Dapo has played 20 lge 2 games and less than 20 lge 1 games for us but i think there would be uproar if we sold him for less than 5m

I think some fans have over inflated ideas of the amount of money clubs have available to spend in the current financial climate.
Plus over inflated valuations of their players.

The only way most Championship clubs will bid £5m for a third division player is by offering pi in the sky deals with unachievable add ons.

No you sell a player for what someone is willing to pay and for even less if said player states they want to leave

Toney went for 10m all in I'm pretty sure. Brighton offered 8m for Powell when we were last in the league, but Powell turned the move down.

TBF the fee is reported at £5m plus add ons to a possible £10m and thatwas in August 2020, times were by no means as hard as they are now.
