He was shite for us out wide in a three. Good feet but entirely too laconic for my liking. Did a job but didn’t move the needle in terms of impact on League Two games. Hope we’re not in for him.
Fair enough. He’s never let us down but we’ve never been able to give him a full run of games either in those advanced wide positions. He’s been playing right wing back in pre season.

It’ll be interesting to see if Gibson is a starter, we’ve got 3 left footed centre backs now, Gillesphey, Galloway and Gibson. We do need another right footer, which could be Taylor, but I doubt he’d get in over Pleguezuelo from Fc Twente straight away.
It would be a waste of a talented footballer if he isn't playing regularly. If he is behind the other 2 then a loan to the league 1 would benefit him. We would love to have him here but can't see anyone at Plymouth willing to talk to JB so that would count us out straight away! Has he featured much in preseason?

Sky have reported that we turned down a 250k bid for Moxon from Blackpool.

Can't see him going Blackpool but their interest might have put a few of the Championship and Premiership clubs that have been tracking him on alert, think if he does go we'll get over a million for him.

Blackpool interest sounds very much like his agent trying to stir up a bidding war, especially at the time of night the information comes out.

I can't see him going to another league one club.

Tyreece Simpson having a medical today for us. Probably as good as we’ll get striker wise.

I can actually see him going to Blackpool. Likely promotion contenders, will get game time, not that far from home, can probably treble his wages.

250k is a piss take though. I get why Blackpool would offer it, they want a good deal and our board are well known to be a soft touch when it comes to accepting derisory offers. But we should be commanding 3 times that to make it worth our while.

I get that he had a good season last year, but going to the premier league is surely far too big a jump.

Seems very likely. Kinda interesting to see what this means in terms of style of play. 1st year in League 1 under Brady, we had the second lowest number of short passes (second only to Evan's Gillingham), and highest percentage of goals from set pieces, which got us to a very good points tally, but out of the autos on goal scored. Last year, we evolved into being mid table for short passes, a much larger number of open play goals, and for large parts of the early season the highest goal scorers in the league. Simpson signing perhaps suggest that League One is in for the 'traditional Northampton experience' again this year.

Carlisle should be getting at least a mil for Moxon, quality player.

for a 25 year old untested above L2 level?
Antony Evans bossed L2 and is a year younger than Moxon, and I wouldnt have expected that much for him last summer

Watching him in the PO's, I thought he was 19/20, not 25!

I can't see him going to another league one club.

I was hoping we would be in for him to replace Jason Knight, but it doesn't seem like we're spending any fees this summer - scrapping around free agency and finding a home for cast-offs seems to be our transfer plan to utilise as much of our budget on wages as possible.

Interesting player, though. One year of competent coaching and he's the best player in League Two. I also like CMs who get involved in all aspects of the game.

It does seem like we're going to be signing our striker target this week - narrowed it down to two, but I think it's got 99% chance of being Jordan Rhodes. I do think there's some interesting experienced strikers who will likely be finding a home at this level shortly: Chris Martin, Connor Wickham, Troy Deeney, Lyle Taylor, Billy Sharp... It will be interesting to see where they all land.

Can’t see that working. Too slow to have a flank entirely to himself and not exactly a demon in the tackle.

Steady on, old chap.
From the outside looking in, with limited knowledge, it seemed like Moxon was the best individual player in League Two. You can count the amount of League Two games I watched last season on one hand - and that's with a couple fingers missing.

That'll probably be the main thing that keeps us from getting his true value. If anything he's developed too quickly and ready to take the next step at a time he still has that 'you were driving a delivery van a year ago' tag hanging over him. In an alternative reality, he has a more modest season of progress last year (we still get promoted) and then signs a new contract, does well in L1 this year and goes for a good fee.

If he does go to someone like Blackpool (I'd hate to see him play against us) then they'll be making a lot of money on his resale so the key for us would be a good sell-on fee.

Yeah think we’ve got the better winger in KaiKai.

Surprised we’ve pulled it off as Masi said Sadlier is the best us Cambridge fans could hope for.

Strange. It’s not like Masi to talk utter bollocks.

When we went up in the play-offs we sold Charlie Goode for £1 million with 500k addons, and while he was a couple of years younger I think thats a similar profile. You won't get Clarke-Harris money for him, but I think if you get much less than a million then Carlisle are being short-changed.

have been told this morning that we have already approached Cambridge with respect to signing Bennett. Talks have been going on for a few weeks. I understand that we have asked about a loan deal again, but if he left Cambridge they would only agree to it if it was transfer fee.

Dont know what figures are involved, but talks are still on- going.

It happens, we signed Barry Hayles from Stevenage (then in conference) when he was 25 and he ended up playing in the Premier League and earning us 2 million.
Antony Evans is a warning example though, he was our best player and playmaker when we got promotion from L2, but last season struggled in L1. I believe Conlon was similar for Port Vale

Yeah zero chance he's going out on loan and I suspect you'd need to offer us silly money to let him go. I think he should be aiming higher personally.

If he has a good season he will get a bigger move.

Not sure what the source is but the chance of this happening is barely above 0%, he's our starting right back, our only right back, and probably the player with the highest potential resale value in our first team, if he were to go it wouldn't be to League 2.

Not sure what Moxon earns at present, but would be great to see him get a move to a side that can pay him £20-30k a week - a couple of years removed from pottering around in a van. It's a great story.

According to journo Alan Nixon we want at least 900k for Moxon. That’s more like his worth for me.

If no one wants to pay it, he stays, hopefully.

Cambridge and i quote SVH we are after two wingers.......I said they would struggle to get two wingers better than Sadlier.....Up until now Cambridge have not signed 2 wingers as good as Sadlier

So in fact Up to now the only Bollocks that is sprouted is coming from you

Sounds like he could be a decent Ben Whiteman replacement if he doesn't sign a new deal and we sell him in January.

This is what i thought it would take something silly for him to come back here.

Tayo Edun to Charlton is an excellent signing. I'd love to have him back if we could afford it. Came in as a CM/LB but excelled in the latter. A progressive player who always looks to play a forward pass and he was incredibly comfortable on the ball. I am a little surprised that he didn't make the step up. Hopefully we get a little bit of £ as a sell on.
