Seems we're close to signing a L1 midfielder on a permanent but another club is also interested. My guess is Tom Conlon from Vale but do any other L1 clubs have CMs they're offloading this window?

I’d guess that’s the other move that would make sense for him outside of reuniting with DC. He and Nathan Smith run their own football academy in the city so could see how that move would appeal to him.

If we were to tell you Ryan Loft is a midfielder would that work for you…?

James Olayinka is on our transfer list. He's an attacking midfielder apparently.

Pretty certain we're after a holding midfielder as our holding midfield department has been absolutely ravaged by injury!

The moment Powell and Tabiner both went down with long term injuries in the same week in October I said we need to get on the blower to Carol and ask if Conlon was available. Always rated him. Excellent professional, a leader and will certainly fill in for the injured Jack Powell for the rest of this season. Keeping him fit may be our biggest issue mind but he'd have a big role to play next season too with us getting rid of Thomas, Colkett, Griffiths and losing White so it makes sense to bring him in for 18 months.

I can see why Cheltenham want him with his connections to DC but would he play every week there? He certainly would play every week with us as long as he's fit, albeit in a lower division.

I know there'll be other L1 CMs available for transfer but this one just sticks out like a sore thumb and makes so much sense.

As said would work with the academy he runs with Smith, can’t see him wanting to lose that and keeps him local to his roots, so may be something in that. Would be a great move in terms of as a league two midfielder he is one of the best.

You can’t have him - having signed Lyle Taylor and Dale Taylor as strikers, we need Joe to complete the trio.

Jesus Christ, I was actually joking about this, but it seems like we are actually being linked (even if half the division is as well).

That said, from Lu’un’s perspective, you’d expect he’ll probably just go to whoever will pay the biggest % of his wages. So Bolton, then.

Luton got promoted based on savvy player recruitment and development. I'm not sure they're just going to send him to the L1 team who offer to pay the highest % of his wages - instead I imagine they'll carefully consider what will be best for the lad's development.

We'd be able to offer him consistent minutes as Evatt likes to replace our two CFs about two thirds through a game to keep our pressing sharp, but we might not be able to give him regular starts.

With Rob Edwards being bessie mates with Evatt along with us having already signed Mendes Gomes & Jerome from him during his short time as Luton manager its certainly believable. Few other names branded about, we've supposedly enquired on West Ham striker Divin Mubama to temporarily replace the injured Nlundulu but seems they won't allow him out because he's refused a new contract with them. Then there's ex-Reading, now at Spurs defender Tyrell Ashcroft who seems to be an option to replace the departed Gethin Jones who's gone to the Asian Cup to play for Australia. We've only got two loans in the squad being Paris Maghoma & Zac Ashworth it did seem we were reserving most of them for second half of the season.

We've had a bunch of enquiries for Layton Stewart on loan.

One of them is shitpool as Critchley tried to sign him on loan before we signed him permanently.

No idea if he's any good, our wanker manager has never given him a chance.

With Regan Poole out until next season and our backup RB Swanson out until March. I think we will be in for a CB who can play RB, Yengi out in the Asia Cup until end of jan, first 2 weeks of feb we need something else upfront. Also we may be in for an attacking midfielder due to again injuries to Anjorin and Tom Lowery being made from waffers

We’ve joined the long list of clubs interested in Joe Taylor from Luton.

Also in for Nathan Fraser from Wolves (was close to signing in the summer) and some Nigerian striker from Crystal Palace whose name is far too long to type out. Rumours are Flanagan could be leaving us to another League 1 club.

Not sure how many (if any) Oxford fans are on here, but journalist Pete O’Rourke is reporting you’ve put a bid in for our winger Armando Dobra.

He’s got 6 months left on his current deal, but personally I think he’d have signed for the long term a while back if that was his intention, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens.

Not sure what sort of fees we’re talking, but he isn’t going to come cheap even if he has only got 6 months left. We’re in a decent place financially so won’t accept unless the moneys right (whatever that figure may be!). I think you’re probably trying to get in early because I can see there being plenty of suitors for his signature come the summer once he’s OOC (Should we not be able to convince him to sign).

Luke Harris confirmed on loan from Fulham till the end of the season.

Just another 4 minimum needed in my opinion.

Was told from somewhere semi reliable, it was Charlton that Taylor was headed toward.

But that was quite a few weeks ago now and he’s continued to score for a not great Colchester team since and we all know football changes fast. Think the fact we’ve recalled him and he hasn’t immediately gone somewhere else might indicate we are reviewing options

Our message board have mentioned him too but we’re probably 25th in the queue for him out of League 1 teams.

Another striker likely to be on the move is Johnson Clarke-Harris after the debacle in the summer.

Hopefully a good signing and Fulham fans certainly think he’s a quality young player. Trouble is, he’s coming into a squad that is massively struggling, so it’s unfair to expect him flourish in the current circumstances.

But, at least it’s another creative attacking player in the squad and as you say, we need approximately 4 more: A left sided player, hard as fuck CDM (won’t happen) and two capable strikers.

How do you feel about the fact he struggled to get in Stevenage’s team during the first half of the season? Seeing as you’re so vocal with your disrespect towards them.

He struggled to get in their team because he is a class footballer and not some dirty cheating non-league shithousery type which is what Stevenage love.

Cork City have confirmed Sean Maguire has joined them on loan for the remainder of the season, so far today that's 3 in (including Luke Armstrong whose registration has been confirmed) and 2 out.

In Carver’s head we are top of the league, Northampton were relegated in November and are now only playing for pride and Stevenage are bottom of the league on points deductions.

Jack Moylan's transfer confirmed as going through after that was agreed in September. The LOI season finished in November and he's been training with us since early-mid December.

Not entirely sure he'll be up to speed initially, but he's another body at the top end of the pitch at the very least.

I'm actually amazed at the amount of minutes Sean Maguire has played without breaking down. Probably shows the big difference in intensity levels between the leagues.
