Nor was I. Awwwww you missed that season, what a shame.

It sure has but the top flight is still the top flight. :cool1: but you've managed to see Carlisle in the 2nd tier, right?

Our season tickets have finally been increased, bad day for those who like to mock how cheap they are. £250 early bird, still decent compared to most but not the cheapest anymore I believe. That’s around £360 for an upgraded seat I believe as well.

My dad doesn't want to renew whilst I'm leaning towards doing it. Don't mind paying a little more than last season if the quality improves but not sure it will.

Still a great price at £11 per game. Don't agree with some of our fans who want us to charge double what they are. Loyalbantam my arse.

That’s still a great price. Next season I’ll pay the equivalent of £12,60 per game - £290 ST.

This season I paid £391, which works out at £17 per game...I reckon that is reasonable value, even if the football has been largely toilet for a couple of years...can't see the club dropping the price if we go down or even if we stay up. We lost roughly a third of season ticket holders this season from last, can see a similar drop if we go down, although Dale has said in the past that he doesn't care if nobody turns up to watch the team play...fecking eejit, that is the purpose of a football team!

Definitive PROOF that Grimsby Notts and Bradford should be given a special promotion from this league this year, forget the fact we’re all pretty crap on the pitch it’s history that counts so come on FA, do your job and promote us all!
I wonder what ours would’ve actually been 20 years ago too before we went to absolute shit for a couple of decades?

Thats not a surprise to me and clubs like Stevenage have the audacity to say they should be beating the likes of us last season.

Highest placed current L2 side, not entirely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

What I do know it's better to have loved and lost then never loved at all.

You know who you are :shifty:

It's 30 years this season since we last finished above that average. Not too surprising that the older contingent have a different outlook to those under 40 from that point of view...

We should have been promoted last season for doing the doubles over Stevenage, Salford and Harrogate. Some sort of award at least.

Yes, despite all the evidence to the contrary I still think we should be in the Championship like we were when I started watching us.

Top of the underachieving table for the terminally shite clubs is nothing to shout about.

I’ll gloss over the fact we’re 4th.

Or former overachievers#spinzone

When you support a shite football club, and you are old enough, it's nice to look back on short periods of genuine not-shiteness.

Very true...at games I meet people who have been following Rovers for far longer than I have...but also fans who jumped onboard either in the last few seasons in the Conference or when we were pushing for promotion to League One.

I think it is reasonable to say that I caught the Rovers bug when we were shite, had a few years when we were alright, but now the cycle seems to be completing a rotation...heading back to where it all started.

I’m hoping my cycle will also head back to where it started as we were brilliant when I started going, in the 90’s I’ve seen us beat every big Championship club at some point including a load that are now in the Prem.

My first real season was when we had Kammy in charge. Got us promoted via the playoffs and the team was one of my faves. Our scouting seemed to be a dart and a map of the world. Had a Brazilian, Swede, Norwegian, Dutchman, a Fin, a Spaniard, and a bloke from Hull. Exotic stuff.

Also had Mark Schwarzer and Chris Waddle in there. He got sacked and then Jewell took us to the prem. Don't think I'll ever enjoy football as much as I did then. Only Parkinson that has come close to that.

Although I was too young to witness our greatest era my introduction to Notts just predated Warnock's arrival which couldn't have been much better.

Saw the incredible leap from 3rd Division to the 1st division via back to back trips to Wembley stadium and at the best age to do it as a footy fan.

Even following Warnock's departure like Fishy mentioned regularly saw us beat the likes of Leicester, Derby, Wolves, West Brom, Sunderland, Birmingham in front of a packed out Kop in the mid 90s. It's been pretty much a downward slide with the odd upward spike (promotion) since. We used to regularly upset the big boys then we were struggling to beat Maidenhead and deservedly losing to Bromley.

As we know not every club's supporters have those fond amazing memories of being a very good to look back on.

Maybe they will have that golden period in the future. You never know.

I'm just glad and very fortunate I've well and truly ticked that box and can say I was there when Notts played Manchester United for the season opener in the top flight at Old Trafford. Typing those words now seems unbelievable, and something that will never happen again.

Ah, those halcyon days when we shipped 100 goals in the PL.

Looks like we’ll even lose that record the way Sheff United are going.

The current blunt Blades are aiming to beat that record and a few others such as biggest negative goal difference Looks like it will be close.

I was at your play off at Wembley against Brighton back in 91, somewhat ironic that both winner and runner-up in that game were both relegated the following season.

Yeah, 4-3. You remember Julian Joachim who played for Leicester? A bunch if us ran into him after the game. God, we gave him some shit.

That was a great weekend. The Saturday game was the Crewe v York PO final and I took my old man (rip) who’d supported York all his life. An old mate of mine worked for some big financial company in the City and got us their private box at Wembley. Great days.

Everybody thinks we were right shit in that season but we ended up with 30 points. There’s loads of clubs who’ve got nowhere 30 points in the PL.

Which end were you in?

That was best footballing day of my life , Super Tommy Johnson running riot in front of 59,000.

The Swindon Vs Leicester match was one for the playoff final greats.
