Not sure whether it's been mentioned, but Dunne got the Cambridge job on a 3-year deal.

It's a tricky one. I'm amazed programmes have lasted as long as they have. What about them do people find useful anymore? The managers comments? The notes on the opposition? The stats and results? The league table? All of this can be found on phones/tablets/computers. What do you get in a programme that you can't for free online? I'd be interested to see the numbers clubs sell their programmes at compared to what they were 10-20 years ago. There has to have been a significant drop off, surely?

The Sheffield Wednesday fans probably buy them specifically for the away fan numbers. Pretty sure most of those pages are stuck together now in the box of old programmes in the Owls' fans lofts.

Pope says it how it is! Always does on twitter... Burge is a complete penis. I dont really know whats up with him!
As his uncle is a board member at Cheltenham (or was at least, will need to double-check) we were constantly linked with him. Thank God he never did sign for us. Comes across as a monumental bell-end.

It wasn’t really discussed but there wasn’t much to say really. Given his track record as caretaker manager, I’d say it’s a decent appointment but it’ll obviously become more complicated when he has to shape his own team and deal with replacing the players who do leave. Plus it’s been reasonably pressure free for him so far - we have no idea how he’ll react under pressure.

He actually was an alright player for us (not quite the level he claims though). Fell out with Adams before Bristol Rovers and he was gone.

I have just been reading that as well, he doesn't think much of Vale anymore does he? Really random that he sold a clothing line to Pearl Jam?

He has been on with it for months, oddly we didnt hear a thing from him for a few years but seems to have a real chip on his shoulder... he had a real public spat with Adams over his departure too.

He left Newport but disagreed with the fact he was released saying he left and has put loads of video's advertising himself on youtube.

Pretty sure he was on police camera action too giving a copper some stick after being pulled.

He comes across as a right helmet. He posted a tweet with a video of him spraying a load of passes about. I think he has a much higher opinion of himself than most football managers!

Can any Forest Green Rovers fans help me please?

I am looking to go to their game against Grimsby on Saturday - Can I just turn up and pay on the door? Probably can but just want to double check!

Why is his twitter handle portvalelegend?

He changed it last night as apparently he is a self proclaimed Vale legend because he played a few times in our promotion season.

Does Ryan Burge take satisfaction winding up Vale fans while being laughed at by the rest of the population?

This one tonight from him is quality, “I took a dying horse and turned it into a Grand National champion’ talking about Vale’s promotion. :ffs:

This is true and if I'm correct the footage is still on Youtube somewhere. Think it was Motorway Cops, a series by the BBC and he was pulled over on the M5 near Tewkesbury. It was definitely him.

Artell has confirmed we will play with a homegrown starting 11 vs Cheltenham tomorrow. 5 years ago today we did it vs Walsall and won 2-0, hopefully we can achieve a similar result.

Cambridge away and can't wait until 5pm when this shambles of a season is over and can start to look forward to seeing what Aspin can do with his own squad.

Haven't lost away in nearly three months but haven't won away in 5 months... so probably yet another away draw on the cards. Hopefully after last weeks total no show Aspin will give them a rocket but still expect a few fringe lads will play.

Also looking forward to this season finishing. If anything it's been worse than last season. It'll probably be a draw.

Unless we win it will be less points than last season against far more inferior opposition to last season so I would agree with that.

Also now we need a result to finish 18th and avoid it being our worst season in over 40 years or something!

On the plus side... I trust Aspo and JR to start the recovery next season after performing a miracle to turn this rabble around this season from doomed to in the end relatively comfortable survival.

Game is all-ticket for us with no tickets sold on the day, not sure about the home stands though.

So, we've had a super positive week, but this has created a right old stink, purely because they class Ryan Wintle as a graduate. Which is ridiculous, because I'm pretty sure he signed an 18 month pro deal as soon as he joined. Plus I doubt he trained or spent that much time with the U18s. So he isn't really an academy graduate and I've never thought of him as one.

Also, we did beat Walsall, but we only did so once we brought on Brad Inman and Chuks Aneke. When we had the all academy XI on, we looked pretty pish. Hopefully that doesn't happen here.

Gunning’s comment about having nothing to prove is also very true, we all thought he was shit, and his performances for us undeniably proved that. :bg:

Wintle is probably similar to Mellor last time, who also isn't really a true graduate of the academy. Wintle may not start anyway, could we not start Kirk, Jones, Lowery, Ainley across the midfield. I can't really see how this can be anything other than positive, after a great week contract wise, plus a decent end of season form wise. For me things are looking up at CAFC.

Ha - that reminds me of when we beat Forest Green 5-1 back in August and the club kept saying we had four academy graduates on the scoresheet. One of them was Kane Vincent-Young, who joined from Tottenham when he wasn't that far off 19, signed for the U23s and was in the first team squad within a couple of months. Another was Courtney Senior who, again, we signed at 18 for the U23s the summer before, he then missed the entire season with an injury and, upon his return, went into the first team squad for that game.

Hoping (and to be honest, expecting) that we'll manage a few goals and hopefully a win tomorrow against Vale. Lots of positivity around as we go into the close season and a determination being expressed that the newly confirmed manager and team want to go out with both a win and a positive performance.

Vale fans who travel will be treated to another bit of creative mowing from our ground staff.

Your old mate Uche is heading up to Edinburgh and probably won't feature but there'll be a touch of Barry Corr and some heart felt thanks and a goodbye to Leon Legge, who may already be committed to Stevenage but if he's lucky he might find a more salubrious billet.
