Well that was shite. Apart from Scott Brown who did well when called upon can’t think of anyone else who comes out of that with credit.

The goal was superb football so why second half we decided to get dragged down to their level with the hoofing forward or going backwards, confidence seems low despite the fact we’ve done ok in the main.

Loss Tuesday I expect but must beat Oldham now.

Carlisle worst team we’ve played this season. 1 loss in 7 games now. Starting to get some consistency.

Didn't expect to get anything today considering our away form and Newport's home form. However we could have easily snatched a point with a little bit more clinical finishing.

We are treading very slowly in the right direction

Oy Shoddy! No need to snipe at your neighbours as a hurt transference strategy.
How can you say that? It's not like we're bottom of Division 4, is it?
I was asking more in hope that someone who's seen us both play would confirm that you were worse. Oldham the worst team I've seen so far. Sounds like if Jim Bentley does his usual party-trick of dragging Morecambe clear of trouble we'll be in for it.

Our only good performances have been when Thomas and McKirdy have both been on song... neither of them started today's match.

I liked Nathan Thomas when he was here. He looked decent for you when he came on.

Can confirm that Oldham are the worst team I've seen so far (Orient ran them close but they were still finding their feet). We were unspectacular and relied on a set piece for the goal but we got the job done in the end.

Oldham keeper and the wall's positioning are shocking for our goal. Delighted with that, very important win.

I agree with that , I was sat right behind it and couldn't believe the space that the keeper had left .I bet Jak McCourt couldn't either .

Sorry Shoddy to add my two penneth, but you were the worst team I have seen at Home Park this year (other than us of course). We were bang average at best, but you were just dire. Oldham were much much better. If we had been any good your defence would have been shredded. If we were still playing now your front line would not have scored.

Your number five was one of the worst centre backs at this level I have seen. His passing made our number five, Wooton, look like Glen Hoddle.

I know it’s a long way, but can you come down every week?

One of our subs, Ruben Wilson, played for the under 18s this morning. Never known that before.

Hitting the bar is useless, it’s still missing the target. One was a decent header, but the other was more a mishit cross that almost fooled the keeper and hit the bar.

We were terrible. We can stay up but we need to sack the manager now while we’re still 5 points ahead, because this manager is making us worse and worse.

If we had been any good your defence would have been shredded.
If we had defended well we would have kept a clean sheet.
If we had a competent manager we would not be as shite.
If we were really good we’d be top of the league.
If we were really good for 4 years we’d end up in the champions league.
If we never played in blue we wouldn’t have blue seats in our stadium.

Shocking result that. Easy run of fixtures and we are limping through averagely.
Precisely the reason I can never understand our fans saying it's an easy run.
Last December was the same. Now face away games at the top 2 and I can't remember beating Oldham at home in years.
End of season party in a month once we are dumped out of the FA Cup

The hope was that we’d found the improvement to beat the lower sides; that said the referee giving the penalty he did and not the one he didn’t on Pope that was identical didn’t help but we didn’t deserve three points, massively lost our away after their penalty and never really got back to the passing we’d shown in the first 20 minutes.

Oldham is a big one as I expect us to struggle on Tuesday and Crewe won’t be as easy as last season, that said we’ve a better record against the better sides this season so far.

We still lack that ability to unlock teams that sit in and has been the case for years! Even since the Adams era. We were immense at Orient in the first half and looked a really decent outfit but since half time I don’t know what said in that dressing room but we’ve been poor the three and a half games since!

Macc largely down to set up but the other two games we can’t really blame that. Two sitting midfielders against poor sides though does need looking at.

We wanted a steady progression and I guess that’s what we’ve got; we score plenty of goals and look much better in general and don’t lose many similar to Adams first season after the Glover mess but with how poor and open the quality of the league is this does feel like missing an opportunity.

They are hardly easy games though, maybe if vale were clear at the top of the league, but you have been lower midbtable so teams looks at vale as a winnable game.
We certainly did despite your forums arrogance.

I think vale fans need to not get carried away with the takeover and are expecting to much to soon.

Most didn’t and most said they’d happily accept improvement which they’ve got.

We had a decent start which on paper was a very hard start and some got carried away... now cue the meltdown on OVF!

We are unbeaten at home after the worst home record in our history last season which is a huge plus so the majority of fans are not seeing us lose which after three tough years is positive and we score goals and create chances in most games which is a positive.

It will take a year or two to turn around the damage done under Smurthwaite and patience is crucial. Fans want miracles but fail to remember we’ve probably spent more than anyone else this summer... sadly £5 million of it to rid ourselves of the cancer that had been killing us.
