And DC is building up a good reputation at reviving players careers.

Can Yussuf's body handle FT training now? He was made of glass for a few years and admitted himself his body couldn't handle it.

His move to Blackpool was a weird one, not sure how he pulled that one off.

Barrow chairman on BBCRC saying that Zanzala was already on his way out of Carlisle before Barrow showed an interest, and he was set to sign for Bradford before they came along and lured him away to bigger and better things.
Sadly, our insulting one-year contract offer was never going to keep him at Brunton Park. Think he may have finished a few of the chances we've missed recentley. Supposedly there's an unknown striker training with us atm.

Yeah, though even despite that it took him two or three games to find his feet with us and he was getting pelters off the fans until he started scoring; so Abrahams or Mampala could start banging them in too. My main hope is still Clough but would be good if we could sign someone with experience.

Wonder if we're still linked with Lee Novak. He's experienced, scored a few for Bradford last season if nothing spectacular and he has connections in the area. Not sure if he's exactly what we need myself, could do with someone who oppositions fear (a la Kevin Ellison) and he'll probably want quite a big pay packet.

Lee Novak's wrapped it in through injury.

I remember Grimsby fans saying that they couldn't understand why he wasn't being picked, and then when he played a handful of games towards the end of the season they were saying he was one of their better players. I bet they're saying he's shite now?

Was the most obvious summer signing as soon as Cooper came in, so surprised it took this long. I wonder if he's going to be more of a supporting striker or a central midfielder for us.
He’ll probably be good in a passing side because he’s good technically and is a decent finisher (good free-kick taker as well). However, weak and scared because of his injury perhaps, and doesn’t seem to have a lot of fight. Good luck to him and he’ll probably do well under Cooper but I’m not sad to see him go.

Did they? I don't even remember him playing at the end of the season.

He comes with good recommendations prior to us, but as with most Holloway signings he was shite for us.

He wasn’t shite for us and that is a hill I’m willing to die on.

Williams will be a success at Barrow, I’m absolutely sure. He’s good on the ball and towards the end he was more than willing to run at people. He worked his way back into the team, did very well and in classic Hurst fashion he was rewarded with being dropped.

The start of his career here he was weak in the tackle and it affected his start here but you can’t blame him for that.

Just checked and his last game was the Payne Morais fiasco at Bradford, no idea how he played because that was one of the few games I missed (thankfully).

Next game Hurst gave a youth player a contract and we stuffed a very in form Bolton side and he was man of the match, so think he was justified in his decision to leave Williams out and change the side( along with the fighters).

As I said he was crap for us a long with 99% of Holloway's signings, that doesn't mean he isn't going to be good for Barrow. There obviously is a player there at least pre injury. But I stand by that he wasn't good for us, hence why he hardly played and why he was free to leave.

Just need to search George Williams in the search bar and all the posts around March and April saying he's the most talented player at the club etc.

If he can get over his injuries, then his reputation suggests he'll still be very good in L2.

I thought he played well but was hauled off to accommodate for those two idiots actions.

Let’s face it, Hurst didn’t fancy him. Williams came on against Mansfield and absolutely ripped them to pieces, scored a free kick and got an assist, then missed a chance to make it 3-2. Hurst then took to the media to criticise him for the kids instead of praising him for, looking back, what was the best individual 45 mins of any player last season. He was then rewarded with being benched again.

Best of luck to Williams, another one who will prove our fans wrong whilst they hang on to dreams of far lesser players being any good.

Just typed George Williams in the search bar and only a few posts for Grimsby fans come up from that time all from Lew apart from two. All below except some more from Lew complaining that Hurst criticised him for missing a sitter at Mansfield as he mentions above.

I think Williams showed flashes of being decent but he’s gone missing far too often. A lot of our fans really dislike him and so does hurst. You’ve never seen a better example of an injury crushing somebody’s confidence though, he shys out of every challenge.

George Williams and Luke Spokes showing how shit Hursts signings have been by outshining the lot of them.

Entertaining for 5 mins that and it’s 5 mins longer than most games this season.

We’re down now, I’ll watch the Barrow game and then I’m done until I hopefully get to a game (hopefully with new owners and without Hurst)

Shame they’ve been cack all season then isn’t it!

Absolute banger of a freekick from Williams. Again another point. Not that useless and just prolongs the inevitable.

So really when you mean Grimsby Fans you mean Lew.

Pools signing a centre forward from Stoke on loan.

Don't know if it's him specifically you'd be bringing in but might be one of their U23's Christian Norton who they've got high hopes for and they're looking to send out on loan.

Monkey Tennis - considering how often our fans rate absolute garbage and slate good players I’d say you should take a lot of heart from the fact they didn’t rate Williams and I did.

There’s a lot of examples of this ringing true in the past, feel free to DM for some examples to cheer you up. One cheeky spoiler is Gladders not rating Andy Cook but loving Lenell John Lewis

I think we see a general trend towards overrating from Grimsby, I’ll let you lot bicker who’s to blame

His fitness was a huge issue at Mansfield, actually looked dangerous for five minutes coming off the bench, but he was knackered after that.

The move to Blackpool was bizarre, and in Hartlepool case you’d want somebody more proven at this level.

We looked like certain relegation candidates before our goal and have dominated since. Danny Rose is a wonderful footballer

You also got to remember Lew's opinion on most players usually doesn't match the vast majority of others.

So either Lew is a football genius, which in that case I question why he joined the military as the inferior trade group instead of taking Hurst's job or he is just wrong!

Is Ryan Sparks the most sensitive man to ever exist?

It's not for me to say but yes.
