For me, we probably need a number 1 with Farman's kicking and shot stopping but someone else's ability to come for crosses.

Are they going to play rush keeper?

I see that Stuart Moore has been released by Reading. Had an absolutely disastrous debut but since coming back into the side has looked a really good young keeper and am pretty happy with him going into the playoffs now.

Would be happy to have him here permanently which is not something I thought I would be saying post that Cheltenham game!

Good signing that for Mansfield but I dread to think what wages they're paying to get them done this early.

Zander Diamond is the sort of experienced centre back I would have liked to have gone for.

Fat chance, we'll be relying on Chelsea loanees signing the day before we kick off.

Evans did state he wants his business done early looks like that will be happening but there is probably quite a few players to sign I would imagine the big signings might take longer.

Not really familiar with the player, but people seem to be saying good things about him, which is good with me!

Looks decent but will he add that much to our current set of defenders?

Still wouldn't want him as nailed on #1 personally, good shot stopper but not at all commanding in the air. I'd be happy to sign him up to compete for the shirt with a more experienced option if he'd be willing (although Jones seemed to suggest we'd be signing the one Norwich released for that role).

Carlisle United midfielder Joe Ward has announced his retirement from football at the age of 20.

A signing from West Bromwich Albion, he went on to make 0 appearances for Carlisle United.

Yes. Our current player of the year, top defender at this level, very conventional and never really loses a battle

I'm not convinced that he will sign that Norwich player and Moore. I'd happily have the latter back here next season as a backup to Walton if he was available (I suspect he will have higher offers). Moore hasn't put a foot wrong since Macey left which is a huge relief.

Good player at this level but I seem to recall injury prone.

Think this is going to be a difficult summer whatever happens for us. I can see us having to reject over £2m of bids on the same players that got interest last summer and winter, plus Hylton. Crucial that we get promoted for that reason, although that might not be enough in some cases.

You boys not offer him another deal then? Our OS doesn't always tell the truth

Diamond is a good signing for Mansfield. Wouldn't have minded us signing him if we stay in league 2, not for league 1 though.

We have Krystian Pearce, George Taft and that Rhys Bennett already. I remember Jacob a couple of years ago describing Pearce as one of the best defenders in the league for Notts Co and he has been excellent for us. Then George Taft was apparently a top League 2 defender for Burton when we signed him, although he's only just returned from long-term injury. Rhys Bennett also looks really good from what I've seen and has been excellent.

So unless he's really, really, really good he probably won't improve our team that much. What we really need is midfielders and strikers.

I'd be surprised if Mansfield aren't knocking on the door of the top 3 come this time next year. Evans will want a big budget; Radford will oblige and stick another £1m on top of what it currently is.

Is Nathan Thomas good enough for the championship? I would have thought League 1 would have been the next step for him at 22 years old.

Bottom of League 2 to Sheffield United is a huge step.
