Jack Stacey was rubbish for us on loan a few years ago but I'm coming to realise not many players look decent in a Barnet shirt anyway (unless you're called John). Hope he does well for you.

For what its worth, I think Lincoln will do very well next season, but you can't really base it upon one off games in the FA Cup. Any team can beat any team on a given day...
We held our own against sides in the cup for 5 and half matches til the gooners went through the gears and gave us a right hammering with more or less their best side.
I believe the most important signing Danny will make this season will be a Grimsby fan as head of recruitment as they seem to be the go to people for this league...:bg:
Seriously though we've only kept about half of squad that got us promoted as they are better players from last season and the rest have gone.
Unlike Cheltenham we have a bit of cash so providing Danny uses it wisely I think we'll do ok.

Green will get you between 15-20 goals, including against us.

One of the better strikers at this level.

Surely we'll sign somebody this coming week, less than two weeks until our first friendly.

Our assistant manager said we're interested in 2 loan players from a Premier League club, probably Newcastle as usual. Brentford keeper Jack Bonham has been linked a few times but that's gone quiet, on loan I'd imagine.

There's been suggestions we're after Bury's Hallam Hope (again), along with Swindon. I really hope we don't sign him.

I really don't think we'll be signing Hope.

I've resigned myself to us getting a few loanees and taking a chance of a couple of trialists. That is it. We'll have to hope and pray that they turn out to be half decent.

It reminds me of last time we had a half decent league finish in 2012 (8th in league 1), instead of strengthening to take the next step, we weakened which ultimately led to relegation.

There's obviously absolutely no ambition there to improve. Grim grim times ahead for this club.

12-17, imo. Would be surprised if he hits 20. Decent signing though. Reunited with Rhead.

We've just signed a right back called Jack Stacey, was at Exeter last season.

Ahh...

I really liked him. By trade, he's a winger but as others have said, was converted to a full back mid season and for me was a big reason why we made the playoffs. If he carries on developing the way he does he'll be a really good player in the future.

His winner against Carlisle was an amazing moment, wish him all the best.

Not a bad signing for Lincoln, talk of him going to a Championship/League 1 club was always going to be ambitious really. Links back up with Rhead who he loved playing with with us apparently. Definitely going to score against us too.

Very much doubt he'll get 20 goals though, he just misses too many chances to do that. Also, he's really not got the pace he did have either.

Matt Green fully fit season can hit 20 no problem.

Think Green might be one of those players that like the more patient and encouragement managers? Am hoping a regular run in the side, which he should well get will help him bag a few goals. Good start to the new signings.

Looking forward to seeing some real talent at the bank next season then, don't disappoint guys.
League 2 last season was shite, save for Doncaster, Plymouth and Pompey at the end. But sides are quicker, more clinical and more organised than Conference sides which makes it a tough league.

The year after we were promoted, we finished 19th (iirc) and struggled massively after Christmas. We just didn't have enough quality.

Mansfield B team.

Maybe Cowely can be the man Palmer needs so his ability can match his ego?

He had his best mate in charge for part of last season, and the season before, played every game, and still didn't get 20 goals.

Ollie Palmer also signs on a two-year deal.

Meh.

If Green can keep injury free and be a regular then I can see him scoring 15-20 at least.

Jack Stacey to Luton is a decent signing. Not the best defensively but great going forward and will develop into a great player.

I'm a bit confused about where he plays. Listed as a midfielder but played RB at Exeter. He won't be ahead of our present RB, James Justin who is probably our biggest and most promosing talent. I suspect he was bought to give us options in defence and midfield. Seems like he can hit the ball from distance judging by the stunner he scored for Exeter in the play off semi. Still need a replacement for McGeehan unless Pelle Rudduck is given that role. Not so sure he has the same instinct for goal as McGeehan though.

Well we knew Palmer was signing, so though the Mansfield fans may deride him, I still stand by the Cowleys judgement. Orient fans also said Gary Taylor Fletcher was the worst ever player for them, he turned out okay for us and went on to have a reasonable career!?

Possibly Ginnelly, Maguire-Drew on loan now and maybe Knott signing later?

Palmer & Rhead. You guys thinking of changing to Rugby?

Palmer lost a lot of weight at Luton. I just hope for your sakes he hasn't been back on the beers and pies since he's been off

Good to see Palmer getting a club. If you want a hard working squad player who can give you extra options up front then you've got your man.

Not even John is going to look decent in that god awful shirt of yours this season.

Sunday Mirror linking us with a loan move for Aston Villa keeper Matija Sarkic, a Montenegro youth international. Probably be back up/competition to Sam Russell as Simon Lefebrve doesn't seem to have impressed all that much.

Rumours on our forums suggest the Sheffield United left back we are in talks with is Hussey and the Wimbledon striker is Tyrone Barnett.

Hussey be a decent signing, Barnett not so sure.

The Tyrone Barnett who was at Crawley in our first season in the football league was great and earned a £1 1/4 mil move to Posh. The player I saw playing for Posh and later Bristol City was not even comparable! I have no idea what happened to him.

Paul Mullin; every time I've seen him I think his a good player. When I look at his stats he's not. Maybe he plays well against Crawley (along with every other striker in Christendom!).

No player coached by Cowley will ever be shite for long, Palmer will end up playing for England and Green will go on to follow Adam Woodyard in winning the Ballon D'or.

The Cowley's are just too good AND clever. They should put Lincoln straight into league 1, they'll ruin this league.
