We’re hoping to get a deal over the line for a striker at the start of January. Ryan Bowman apparently.

Just had a text off my mate who knows Bowman’s In laws as they’re from Torquay (as is my mate) and he’s definitely signing for us.

Apparently he’s got a young baby and his fiancée wanted to move down south with her family, which has motivated the move. He’s got no reason to bullshit so I’m taking this as truth. Guess we will know in a few days.

The more I think about us, the more I think we're probably going to be about 6 out (7 including Green) and 6 in.

We’re supposedly signing Swedish LB Sebastian Ring from Örebro SK on an 18-month contract. Been there for 5 years and has supposedly rejected a 3-year contract offer from them. The last part is definitely true but the rumour to us is based off a Grimsby Telegraph story about Ring training with us.

Seems to have ok pedigree (it is the Swedish league after all) but we need defenders. It’s also highly rumoured that our only natural LB Andrew Fox is moving to the US with his family so it definitely fits the narrative.

Palmer would be an odd one, A) I can’t think of a natural destination for him at this point, and B) surely letting your top scorer go when you are dropping like a stone would be pretty suicidal, unless he has a clause?

We are meant to be after a striker, but haven’t heard anything suggesting that it will be Bowman, who’s strongly linked with Exeter. Not sure a striker would be my top priority, unless Norwood is now moving on.

It’s definitely Bowman. We’ve put a bid in for him. Up to him whether he wants to move to Exeter or the Wirral.

Forest did that when he was at Stevenage and then recalled him to loan him to us in L1

That would be a massive blow if true. Walker has been brilliant.

Was always a risk to have our main striker as a loan player, only our fault if he gets recalled.

Would be a big blow, county had something similar with grant, who ended up staying.

If someone coming in for him puts in an offer (as opposed to him going on loan in league 1) it’s not out of the realms of possibility we’d put in a bid as well.

Hopefully it blows over, but I’m sure JR would have a replacement lined up if it does happen.

Louis Robles departs after not kicking a ball for us, as far as I'm aware. Was a low cost gamble (I'd imagine so at least) that didn't come off.

Edit: Apparently, he made 5 appearances? Guessing most of them were in the Checkatrade as I don't recall any of them.

We've transfer listed Gary Miller and George Glendon. Miller has been a bit of a disappointment, Glendon hasn't been at all bad but has perhaps been eclipsed a bit by Regan Slater. We signed both sounding like they were intended to be first team players so perhaps their salaries reflected that.

Sowerby and Yates are, from the sounds of things, almost certain to stay for the rest of the season.

Adam Campbell may be returning to Morecambe. He hasn't featured much but hasn't disappointed I don't think. We're gonna make a late decision on him apparently. I reckon it's one of those where I'd be happy for us to sign him permanently if the deal was right for us.

No further news on Nadesan. It's sounded like Fleetwood want to sell him. Phillips and Lumsdon on BBCRC were bandying around a figure on Saturday, can't remember exactly what it was, think 700k. Surprised they're not considering him for their own first team, there's probably League One teams who might like him but would Fleetwood sell to one of their rivals? It's not as though they need the cash. I guess there's always the possibility that if Fleetwood can't get an offer that they're happy to let him go for, and they're dead set on not using him themselves, they'd loan him back to us. I'm sure Nads would like that.

You'll just go out and buy a new striker or spend loads on bringing one in on loan though, surely?

Well you’d think so but Walker has been so important to how we play. I’d rather not have to go out and get someone else in but this is the problem with loans.

Exactly, he fits well both in the team and a person, he’s came on leaps and bounds of late. Hoping it’s jist a rumour.

But yeah no doubting that JR would get someone else in, just always a gamble you don’t want to be taking

Hopefully Walker insists he wants to stay, he’s guranteed to start, scoring goals and is in a team that clearly has a shot at promotion, he will be in L1 next season no matter what anyway.

Deal in place, confirmed on OS.

Heard at the Alex from a couple of blokes who talk to his Dad that we're looking at trying to re-sign Callum Cooke on loan for the rest of the season from Peterborough.

If he's still the same player he was two years ago then it's an absolute no brainer, get the boy in here right away and sign him up without any bother.

Both Exeter and ourselves have had offers accepted for Bowman. The Motherwell chairman has commented that he has been offered wages 'we could not compete with', which suggests he is going to Exeter rather than us unfortunately.

Indeed, as we know all too well! Even before they recalled Yates from us last season, dealing a pretty devastating blow to our auto hopes, they’d done the same the year before with him when he was at Barrow, sending him to Shrewsbury. As others have said, getting quality players from the higher leagues on loan is great, but try to get the season-long bit set in stone!

Another striker we released going to start smashing them in.

Considering what we are paying towards Walkers wages I’d of thought we’d of ensured it’s a season long loan with no recall option.

I've watched Ryan Bowman a lot in the National League and I'd be surprised if he did well at League 2 level. He always seemed a bit of a donkey.
