Message Board pundits adding 2 + 2 to make 3, 4 or 5 suggest that Ben Gordon may be coming our way.

Colchester have allowed the left back to "leave the club to seek first team football elsewhere." I guess the Joe Dunne connection is the catalyst for the rumour. If true, Greg Taylor will definitely need to "seek first team football elsewhere," if only on loan to recoup his wages, and the squad will definitely be further strengthened. Who else is looking for a decent left back and might outbid us?

Billy Bodin apparently on trial with the Gas.

True but as far as I know he was utilised as a CB at times and he looks to have been used off the bench a fair bit.

To be fair, although a 25 goal a season striker would be nice, I'd be fine with Moore contributing 10-12 goals as there plenty of goals from elsewhere in the team.

He may just need a regular run of starts to find his feet. We will see.

Any Yeovil fans have an opinion on him?

Moore's certainly got potential, but I think he joined us at the wrong time. He was not cut out for the Championship, and then last year we were hopeless as a team. He's surprisingly quick for a big guy and has good control, however his passing and finishing needs a lot of work. But I think that Exeter could be the perfect place for him to develop.

And if being a striker doesn't work out, he looked very good at CB and many felt that it should be his primary position.

Kieffer Moore would be fine. We won't necessarily be looking for a striker who is capable of scoring 20+ goals as we already have one in Nichols. It would someone who could form a strike partnership with him to allow us to have a successful season. We are crying out for a big lad up front and with him being young, there is still time for him to develop.

I'd take him, infact I'd be happy if he signed.

Agree with all of that GOG.

Assume you haven't heard anymore on the links to Ball and Hoskins?

No unfortunately nothing. Neither have (officially) been snapped up so there is still hope as I do believe they were amongst our targets. But it seems Ball is going to be playing at least 1 league higher as he's been recently linked with Wigan and even Huddersfield. Hoskins I was informed was likely to happen and it still could. Maybe we've already spoken with him and either Hoskins or Tis himself have decided against the move, who knows. Maybe we've decided on other targets. Like you said, with Kieffer Moore following that City fan account it does make you think something is happening there.

I guess we'll just have to wait. You'd expect our transfer movement will increase soon with our friendlies beginning next week. No word from the echo of any trialists (well, other than Clinton) at our pre season training which makes you wonder if they've been told to keep it hush hush or there genuinely is nothing to report.

Must admit you would expect Ball to be good enough for L1 so I would be surprised if anything came of it.

Hoskins still could happen and Tisdale said he would ideally like two new strikers so both him and Moore could sign but I doubt it.

I may well be clutching at straws now but just seen an interview with Wheeler on the official site where two players walk behind him in the background but they were blurred out. Whereas Ollie Watkins was clearly seen in the background of Alex Nicholls' interview yesterday. So it seemed odd to blur them unless they were players who hadn't officially signed.....This is what boredom does to me!! I had expected some news on trialists at least now we're into July so it's a case of waiting I suppose.

Hearing we're on the verge of making a very interesting signing. One that would show we're willing to pay decent wages too.

Nah, just kidding, no idea, bored, someone sign someone. It's too hot.

Good of Luton to continue the Daggersa reunion. Not sure what to expect of Maggie these days, pretty sure he had a nasty injury at Col U, accompanied with poor form which is why he's back in L2.

The times I've seen him for Colchester (double figures) I never really liked him. Would be surprised if he was anything more than backup given Luton's centre back options.

David Mooney has left us to join Southend.

Luisma has been released so he can return back to Spain.

Elton John better be re-writing Candle In The Wind again!

Gutted about Luisma! We have no creativity in this squad without him.

Bristol Rovers have signed Cristian Montano, good player for this level but clearly quite an unpleasant character.

No kidding, once charged with rape with the case eventually being dropped. Also sacked due to spot fixing although again charges were dropped.

Not sure what to think about the montano signing, talented headcase. Clarke is decent with those types though, completely turned round Ellis Harrison last year.

I understand players should be avoiding these situations in the first place, but is it naive to think he probably deserves another chance given both cases were dropped? Doesn't say a much good about his character that he is even accused, but it appears he was very angry and upset after the Oldham sacking. I'm willing to give him a chance here.

Would be nice to hear from Oldham fans, seeing as they're the only team who have really seen him for a decent period of time.

Would be a very good signing. I just think he's too similar to Sir Jimmy. We need someone with a bit of pace.

Seems that we are set on playing 433 which means pacey wingers and big old fashioned centre forwards i guess

LUISMAAAAAA! I am so gutted about this. First Stephens now Louie... I'll always remember the free kicks against Alfreton and Rovers.

The pace will be on the wings, full-back positions and in central midfield - players that can support attacks, break quickly and make runs beyond the ball. Stead and Spencer would work up-front in a 2, not sure why anyone would doubt that to be honest - there's also the matter of Spencer coming off his injury, I'll be optimistic because we all want to assume he'll return to being the Sir Jimmy of 2014 but I think it'd be wrong to purely assume that, especially if you're a decision maker at the club. Any complications and you're not scratching around for a Number 9 type like we were with Cassidy and Bajner, which is a position that I imagine will be pretty vital for Moniz's 433 system.

Stead was at the training ground today I hear, which is generally a good sign.

I too would be impressed by Stead at Notts, did well at Bradford - at least in the cups
