We are interested in signing Sam Jones after he was released by Shrewsbury. Played for Hurst at Grimsby and then was signed by him at Shrewsbury so would make sense.
Decent player if he can be bothered. Started well with us but n couldn’t be arsed. Not sure he did any better at Cheltenham??
As I say, could be decent but attitude not right so far.

Almost except Marcus Bignot signed him. As Harry says, great when he can be bothered. Played often as a striker but is much better as a CAM.

I always liked Sam Jones here, quality player and I’ve seen quite a lot of people saying that he couldn’t be arsed a lot of the time but I never saw that in him myself, to me he always looked like he was trying every game so not really sure where some of our fans have got that lazy impression of him from.
He pissed me off last season though by diving (waited for slight contact then chucked himself on the deck) to get Cheltenham an injury time penalty against us.

James Wilson has had his contract mutually terminated with us. Bit unlucky whilst here as we just had better centre backs. Can fill in at RB if needed. Would expect him to stay in L2 where I'm sure he'll be more than capable.

Yeah, he'd be an adequate CB down here but nowhere near Shackell/Bostwick level. Also unlucky with getting into the side then breaking his ankle at Cambridge and never got back in from there.

Some thought he was better than Bolger in both their limited showings but I found him an unsettling influence. A bit indecisive for a CB.

There was talk of him going back closer to home in January (FGR and Plymouth were both interested) but Bostwick picked up an injury close to deadline day and nothing happened.

We are now out of the running to sign Gateshead midfielder Tom White as we couldn’t agree a compensation fee.

My contact at Gateshead says Carlisle’s offer would be enough to pay one of their players wages for a week.

We really do take the piss sometimes. Can’t even sign out of contract conference north players. This club is a fucking joke and is heading 1 way and that’s the Vanarama Nationwide Blue Square Conference hell hole.

Kgosi Ntlhe has apparently joined Scunny, rather than staying at Rochdale.

Decent enough for us, and played his part in our end of season revival, which kept us up. Good luck to him...

We’ve tonight signed RB Adam Buxton from Tranmere. https://www.morecambefc.com/news/2019/june/adam-buxton-signs/ Seen him a few times for them and always rated him. Seems a good replacement for Mills. Now a winger probably (Lionel Ainsworth) and a striker needed. If we can replace Collins goals from the end of last season we will have a good season. (For us)

He is eclipsed in size only by McNulty and Rhead. I wonder if he will play in the same defence as Ritchie Sutton. That would be a sweaty, sweaty Morecambe defence.

The web says he is 12 and a half stone. Maybe they weighed him when he was 14 and are still using that figure.

Where have you heard that?

He was absolutely quality when you beat us 3-1 last season. He seemed to be playing CB though in a 5-3-2 from what I can remember, he's actually a LB though isn't he? We desperately need a new LB so hope he is.

Buxton is a very good player. He is one of the most naturally talented footballers we have had in the last few years; technically very good and great at set plays. However, his weight issues will always prevent him playing above League Two, as he does lack mobility.

I think he will do well for you.

He's a non-league clogger!

Size is not everything. After all, you have got a much bigger budget to spunk than us and you are in a lower division. :bg:

Agree with RLC pretty much. Bucko is a good all round footballer and can only fault him on his weight and lack of pace.
