Re: NKP. I already knew what Bradford fans think of him so no need to ask. Hopeully he'll do well for us at least. Players released by relegated clubs are often a bit better than their standing would suggest. We've had to sign a whole new defence this summer but I think that's that side of things sorted now.

We need strikers so it seems like us and Crawley are cancelling each other out in the transfer market. If only we were playing them on the opening day eh.

Pressley has admitted we could be in for a wait as we'll definitely be going into the loan market for forwards. The caliber of player we want isn't available for us to sign.
NKP will be fine, there’s a reason he’s in L2 as you say but there are plenty worse out there.

I had to laugh at Jevani Brown's tweet where he said he was happy to have joined Colchester and was looking to get them 'back to where they belong'.

Where on earth did he think traditionally tiny little non-league Colchester actually belong?

Jevani's Ideas

Station.

I think that's a bit harsh, he's what, early 20s. I'm 34 and I don't remember Col U as a non-league team. When he was a lad, Colchester would have been League 1 mainstays with their one flurry in the Championship.

You are probably right, I haven't spent that much time looking at the history of Colchester, weirdly I have always considered them a 'non-league side' (like Stevenage or Crawley), probably because of their fantastically non-league ground Layer Road.

As to where they 'belong', there is another thread for that so probably best to end that discussion here :)

I also never knew they had come up through non league. Similar to Wycombe in that respect who I know many people still think of as a newly promoted team but I just see as part of the football league furniture

That will apply to us soon too I'd imagine, most people won't realise we were ever a non league side.

Tyrone Marsh leaves us to join B-wood in the conference. A hero of our promotion season but not quite good enough for this level. Hope he can get back to his best with some regular game time.

Rumour is that Matty Palmer has signed for us, unsure if it's loan or perm deal.

They had one season in non league in 90/91 after they got relegated the year before. Not sure what their history is like going back to the 60s/70s though

Looks like we put a bid in for Zach Clough yesterday. Forest holding out for £250,000.

We've signed Jake Eastwood on loan from Sheffield United. We needed a new keeper but no clue if he's any good.
I heard a rumour he’s earning A Fistful Of Dollars at Sheffield United but I reckon he should be looking For A Few Dollars More than that.

Jevani Brown went for £200k plus a sell on fee so I suspect Colchester are spending their recent received monies.

Plus Paris Cowan-Hall on a free.

Disappointingly, a decent signing for you.

Can be a bit of a prima donna, but has certainly got the quality to change a game. Think he fell out with our manager a bit and was probably on decent wedge, so I'm not surprised we went from that perspective, but I would have been perfectly happy if he'd stayed.

Matt Palmer, season long loan from Rovrum formerly of Burton. 3 promotions already for a 24 year old so happy with this one to bolster a poor centre midfield.

We’ve got Peterborough winger Isaac Buckley-Ricketts training with the club. No idea if he’s any good or not, the fact he’s considering coming here suggests he probably isn’t highly sought after.

In fact I’ve just looked and since signing for Peterborough last summer he hasn’t made a single appearance for them. Sums up where we’re at, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Very pleased with this - great CV at a relatively young age.

I know the OS states he’s a playmaker, but his stats do imply he’s more defensive minded.

He makes midfield tick, keeps things moving across the field, pure class with his precise passing.

Would have hoped we would sell him TBH.
He never showed much in our promotion year and even less last year in the relegation. Only got on the field a dozen or so times and didn't do enough to command a place unfortunately.
Hope he does well and you buy him in January.

Apparently Southend and Colchester are also interested.

We’ve signed CB Robbie Cundy from Bristol City on a season long loan. He was at Bath City last season and won all their player of the year awards.

He’s 6ft 6 so is big bugger!
