I said pre-season we would sell out Burton away on Good Friday.

Well the c*** at the Football League have moved it to 1230 on the Saturday for Sky TV.

Germany v England that evening too, so there's my plan of flying out on the Saturday morning out of the window.

Looks like a Friday night in Burton.

Fuck that your choosing burton over berlin you must be crackers

watching England died in around 2004 when its all face painted freaks blowing horns and wearing St George costumes.

A Friday night in Burton would be so much more appealing that watching the most overhyped and boring international football team known to man. I have followed England everywhere when it was a real following watching them, not the modern day England fans who are embarrassing. I honestly wouldn't watch England if they played on my back garden.
Might not go down well with people but they are a joke from the top to the bottom, The Fa, the embarrassing manager, the fat shrek with his £250k a week and some ten bob players who play 6 good games and are valued at £100m before people realise we don't have 1 world class player..

Anyone who puts that shower of shit over their club needs their heads testing.

I agree with you about a lot of that. Thats the exact reason id never ever join the england travel club its run by c*** and is full of c***. There are still a lot of good lads who travel abroad though who arent part of that shite and we still have some cracking trips. Id never ever go to wembley though that really is embarrassing.I also agree about about the players being overpaid wankers but what can we do about that its still my country at the end of the day i aint just gonna stop watching em just cos all the players are tossers and to be honest thats the same at club level too aint it. United come before england for me without a doubt if it was an important blades game or an important england game id choose united, but a weekend in berlin is far better than watching us play crewe at home on easter saturday would you not agree. I can watch us play teams like crewe home and away every week all year exactly like i do but england play away in germany on average probably once every 7/8 years.

Yeh,used to be great seeing England fans running amok on some foreign terrace or in some city square.
Could practically guarantee it wherever we went.
Not that I'm condoning it or anything but come on...it was fuckin' great seeing it on the telly.

Good following from Chesterfield today, very vocal. Home fans pathetic as I don't know how anyone could be bothered supporting their team in that weather. It was horribly cold.
By far the most vocal fans at the DW all season so far and that was with their team hammered. That Ebanks Blake has to be the worst football player ever, he was bullied to death and he is about 6 stone overweight.

didnt look over 1000 chesterfield fans that means over 500 paid on the gates...they sold 500 tickets but fair play, i see teams are bringing decent followings to wigan because we are a massive club big day out for some :cool1:

Maybe not one of England's finest clubs but certainly the most envied of clubs in this league and below. A very small club that have had 8 years in the premier league, league cup finals, European football, FA Cup semi finals, won the FA cup, 2 football league trophies and debt free. Not bad really for a tin pot club to have done this in my lifetime watching the club (36 years old). Throw in division 2 and 3 league titles and a charity shield and it makes good reading.

Then there is Southend, a club of a similar size to Wigan who have ....Well I suppose you could count the Southern league cup in 1906.
Then we could consider Crewe who are a much smaller club that Southend and Wigan and they have won....Well the Welsh up in 1936 which is something Wigan never will win and a football league trophy once (we have won that twice so we can discount that)....Then you can see why they are envious.

Anyway, back to the away support thread and Oldhams following is good, thinking they will bring 1200 plus to Wigan based on that.

Crewe are bigger than Wigan.
No doubt about it.Your current gates are good 'cos you've recently had major success courtesy of Whelan's cash.

Of that i agree im extremely jealous of the recent success you have had and can only dream of ever seeing us do something similar so fair play on that front.
