The figures don't lie. Attendances well down on the PL era. Well down on what they were last time we were out the PL.

Because you're shit now.

It happens to everyone.

Bolton's crowds are down massively too, they're not claiming a boycott.

We were getting 20,000 in Division One in 2000. That was down to below 15k during the 5 years in the Championship, and it'll be the same next season. I'm not claiming we have thousands upon thousands of boycotters because there will be people who will only pay for top-flight football. But there's a 5,000 gap there that Venky's are responsible for.

That was 18 years ago, you still had a class squad, glory days still fresh in the memory, Walker money still flowing and returning to the top flight was a relative formality. Signing the likes of Jansen for £5m.

You're down to your core fanbase now, well ish, would have been interesting to see your crowds if you had finished mid-table this year.

We were mid-table for the first few months and crowds were 10-11k, went up to about 12k after Christmas and people bought half season tickets. There'll be an increase next year back up to the 14-15k we had. Wonder if your great season has any impact on crowds down at Deepdale next year.

20k in 2000, first year out of the Premier League, higher year after cos of promotion then rats deserting the ship.

Course it won't, we've been out of the top flight for nearing 60 years, only way crowds will increase is with a season in the prem and we pick up glory hunters like yourselves.

Wouldn't call it great, Championship play-offs are hardly new, been in them 4 times since 2001, with a few near misses in between.

You won't get 15k if you're doing shit, even with your cheap season tickets. Would be interesting to see your numbers if you had to pay £400+ like other clubs.

You've spent near enough fuck all, potentially reaching the play-offs is a great achievement with the money in that league now.

Boycotting is a terrible excuse for not being arsed, Venkys for all their sins seem to put plenty of money into the club as we've found out this season. Their only crime seems to be recruiting shit managers, if every team boycotted for that there'd be hardly any fans left.

Just face it, it's because the glory days are gone, all teams see their attendances go down when they do crap. Most aren't as arsed about looking massive though so don't use it as an excuse.

We've done brilliantly, but it's still not like we're entering new ground, just getting back to where we were ten years ago.

It's not though is it. Venky's have put the money in necessary to keep the club afloat, due to their poor decisions earlier on in their tenure. Granted, they have given Mowbray a decent amount to spend this season but they won't get away with £1.5m a season in the Championship.

As for boycotting being an excuse for not being arsed, I'm sure the numerous fans that have been to every away game and no home games disagree.

What about the £8m and the £35k a week wages they threw at Jordan Rhodes, or the huge wages given to Etuhu and Murphy? They don't spend that sort of money any more because its clearly not sustainable on your crowds. Hilariously deluded viewpoint to think you can spend the sort of money Derby or Sheffield Wednesday do.

We've probably spent about £3m in three seasons.

Aye because that's something you can show figures for....

Parachute payments. They didn't spend their money. They spunked the parachute payments on players looking for a final pay-day and multiple players and managers being released (Rhodes being the exception). I've also never said we should be spending that sort of money either.

So you just expect them to pump millions into the playing staff every season, while subsidising season tickets every year and the club continuing to run at a huge loss?

Again, they've made bad managerial appointments and wasted money on players, same as every owner.

Then why in one season when you had parachute payments did you make a loss of around 40m. I believe the same season we made a profit ans finished above you.

They may lack knowledge of football and make some poor decisions but they've certainly invested. There gets a point when your regularly losing so much mpney that you have to cut back which is why you spent 1.5m, which by the way waa a division high. We made a profit on transfers this season.

Total bs Rovers are -£20m this season, they have heavily invested.

The Boycotting is myth, less than 500 are staying away purely down to Venkys ownership.
The rest because we've been shit serving up poor football for the last seven or so years.
Expecting a big crowd by our standards on Saturday due to last game promotion party.
Reckon we'll average around 14k next season mainly because of increase of away numbers.
Not knocking or praising our support just a fact that affects all clubs.
It'll just be nice to see Ewood near full once again. :2thumb:

They have 5 of the top 7 paid players in league 1, we looked at Dack last summer, and once Blackburn came we were laughed out of the door. Estimated to be on £11k per week, our highest is £3k to put it in perspective. As for Mulgrews wage, he probably gets more than half of the squads in this league put together.

Coming from the south, come off the M65 at junction 3 and head towards Ewood that way, down Livesey Branch Road there's a few free car parks, those these usually do fill up, even moreso with a big crowd like we'll have this weekend. Other than that, I'm not sure how many unofficial car parks are still open, I think there's one just off a street called Albion Street which is less than 5 minutes from the ground, think it costs a fiver.

Oxford was one of the 6 aways I've missed this season so I didn't see the 4-2 win unfortunately, though one of your goalscorers that night now plays for us! We made 6 changes at the weekend due to various injuries and deservedly lost, and with Dack already being ruled out I can see us struggling, thankfully Shrewsbury imploded or it'd be a very nervous evening. It'll be a classic end of season encounter, either a drab 0-0 or goals flying in everywhere.

Cheers, I'll give Livesey Branch Road a try, as I would probably be coming in that way anyhow.

PS: We had sold just over 1,100 as of this morning and the game has now been made all ticket for both sets of fans.

It's only been made all ticket for away fans for some reason, only reason I can think of is if they want to give the other half of the upper tier to Rovers fans.

Bad news for Rotherham fans (if we play them). We won’t be giving them the overspill corner we usually give to clubs that sell out the away end. That corner will be given to home fans following a good atmosphere in the two games fans have been alllower there. That means whoever we play will only be allocated 1.7k rather than 2k.

We'll you sellout though if you don't give us the extra side bit? If not then it would be silly not to give us that again because the demand will be even greater this time.

I think we might only give away fans a small allocation at our place in the playoffs depending on how the sales are going. 4 years ago we only gave Preston 1200 because we filled the rest of the ground including half the away end.

We won't sellout it's just that corner has created an actual good atmosphere for the first time since home fans were banned in it. The other corner is the allocated family area. Basically meaning that there's nowhere extra we can give you.

Preston fans are like Burnley fans, obsessed with attendances and ignore the facts. They`re forever banging on about Rovers having poor support, but when it`s pointed out that we have at least the same numbers as them, they just ignore it. Preston never have and never will be owt .

Why are Wigan fans boycoting the DW? 12k @ £10 a ticket for your last home game promotion party.
Can't knock PNE tho, 13k average and should top 20k+ with 2k+ Burton fans coming as well for their final home game with the final playoff place up for grabs.

Absolutely no chance of 20k at Preston
