Why is Lukaku defending the back post? Just leave him up front for the next set piece please. Christ.

Get Ibra on.

Predictable result that makes our bullshit today all the more annoying. Missed opportunity.

Said it weeks ago, may as well give City the title now.

Going to be a boring title race now, has 11 points ever been made up before? Be more interesting watching the fight down the bottom.

Yeah, but you were punching above your weight to be there and United were the better team despite that gap as was proven in the end. Neither is the case here.

Some great unintentionally funny stuff on Redcafe tonight.

Feck football. It is just a rich boy playground now and there's finally one kid who's dad has more money than everyone else and always will so there is no contest anymore and therefore no point.

Well, you have to tip your hat to City. They found a way. Again.

I think Herrera deserved to be carded for hanging a leg out to try to win a pen and in my opinion the ref got it right on both counts: Not giving a penalty and carding Herrera.

The City goalie pulled off the sort of saves that De Gea has been doing for United all season. Perhaps the first one hit him but the second was a proper save.

Lukaku made a mess of his clearance which gave Otamendi the chance to make up for his error before half time. For all the beautiful football that City play, they still need lucky breaks from time to time.

I didn't like the City players keeping the ball in the corner for about three minutes towards the end. They're better than that. It's legal but it's not the sort of football we want to see.

Overall, a tough, hard fought Derby that for all the good football on display, had an undercurrent to it that occasionally looked as if it could get nasty. The best team won because they had the breaks when it mattered and dogged it out when they had to. Eyeball to eyeball in the trenches. A bit like United used to do in their glory days.

‘United posted a 35% possession figure, their lowest at Old Trafford in the Premier League since 2003-04 (when Opta started collecting this data).’

A lot of diving and playacting on the City front.

That all being said, what a fantastic team. Some of those players are a class above, namely Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva.

Romelu Lukaku was quite poor today I thought and Ibrahimovic should come in Wednesday for me.

The whole ‘gloryhunter’ schtick is fucking dull mate.

I grew up surrounded by Liverpool glory hunters. I was 12 when you won your last league title and spent the next 20 years surrounded by gloating rags and faux scouse living on past glories. Have any pop at City you want, but telling a 39 year old City fan he’s a glory hunter is fucking weak.

Still. First side to win at the swamp in more than a year. Record consecutive wins in the PL. Fucked over Mourinho’s bus. All good.

Says the Liverpool fan who probably started supporting Liverpool in, well, 1989...

Silky, are you suggesting he's a faint heart or some sort of glory seeker fan...?

If so, why would he start supporting them in the season they were pipped to the league title by Arsenal in the last game of the season... and at Anfield, too..!!

Glory seekers don't usually support the runners up.

As for the post match nonsense yesterday, only Pep Guardiola comes out of it with any credit. Apparently, when urged by his support staff to go to the City fans to celebrate, he refused on the grounds that it would look like gloating and he didn't want to stir anything up. At least, that's the version we're getting here. Whatever happened yesterday, I don't think it was provoked by Pep.

City players celebrated. Fair enough. They won and are entitled to, as are their fans. Let's be honest, they've had to suck it up in the past. Mr Ferguson wasn't above taunting City with his "They play to win Derbies, we play to win trophies" taunt and other tasteless and unnecessary comments. Neighbours getting noisier, are they Sir Alex..?? Keeping City fans inside the stadium after everybody else was long gone and endlessly playing, "Glory,Glory Man United" at full volume over the PA. Childish.

So if there was any gloating by City yesterday, then as tasteless as it is to indulge in "payback", we can see where it's coming from, can't we..?

What goes around, comes around, but after everybody has gone home and the post match interviews are done, that should be the end of it.

Unfortunately, Jose Maurinho's ego gets the better of him too often. He doesn't take defeat gracefully and yet again..... and again .... and again.... it's all the referees fault. It gets rather tiresome after a (long) while. United lost fair and square. I think most of their fans have accepted it with as good grace as possible but Jose cannot accept that anybody in football might just be better than him. When he saw the door to the City changing room open, he had to ..... just couldn't help himself.... go in and say something. It seems that was the catalyst for the silliness that followed and nobody comes out of with any credit.

Let's hope the match at the Etihad, when it's played, doesn't descend into similar shenanigans.

Oh, and just a question for somebody in the group to answer if they know.....

Wasn't the "Glory, Glory" originally used by Tottenham... If so, isn't it time United got their own song..?
