I was cynical as to whether Rashford was a hype job initially but I have to say he looks the absolute bollocks. Great style too, hopefully Jose doesn't tone that down in 'favour of the team'.

His quality usually shines through, yeah - that's why I'd not contemplate taking him off because you know he will more than likely make something happen at some point.
Yeah, I see your point but this is the kind of game he'll pretty much never look very good. Should have had a brace though.

Yeah, possibly more with the couple he has skied as well.

Fernando for Iheanacho - bit of a negative one from Pep.

Again dodgy from Bravo - could have easily been a penalty.

That's a stonewall penalty actually. Hell of a leap.

Mourinho has adjusted well. Pressing the defence better, look much sharper. Only worry for them is that the midfield aren't really retreating when City counter. Back four have coped well so far, but not sure how long they can get away with that.

Unlucky De bruyne, great effort off the post.

What an excellent game so far.

When you're all busy slamming the PL remember you wouldn't get a game like this anywhere else in the world.

Weird decision to put De Bruyne in as a makeshift striker when he was so dangerous before.

Great result. Even putting aside the fact United lost at home, anything that annoys Mourinho gets my blessing.

Excellent game. I'm obviously disappointed by the result but it actually lived up to the hype, which is a rarity in football.

City dominated the first half and we were poor. Second half Jose made the correct changes and we were the better team for the remainder of the game as a result - piling the pressure on City's defence.

There were penalty shouts (one each should have been given, for me) for both sides and chances for both that should have gone in so it's hard to settle on a "deserved" scoreline but City deserved the win overall for that first half, I think - they were miles ahead of us.

De Bruyne man of the match.

Did Bravo think he was playing volleyball today?

Who is Jose going to blame now? Mkhi? Lingard? Van Gaal? Tea Lady? Physio? Everyone else but not him!

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
He should blame whatever imbecile thought that KDB wasn't up to Premier League football and let him leave Chelsea.

David Silva is brilliant. What he lacks in pace he makes up for in brains. Absolutely controls the midfield.

One of the more underrated players in the league. He's been doing it for years.

Really enjoyed that, one of the best games of football in the PL I've seen for a while. City were unbelievable first half, though Mourinho clearly got his starting 11 wrong. I'm a big fan of Mkhitaryan but he threw him in the deep end together and he was completely off the pace, and quite how Rashford doesn't start every week for United is beyond me. Getting back to City, De Bruyne's relentless energy was something else and he could so easily have scored a hat-trick which he would have fully deserved. Silva was just majestic, as we've come to expect, and Fernandinho did his job brilliantly. I also think Nolito had a really decent game and looks a very good player that is suited to our football over here.

Piling on the pressure? Behave. You were better in the 2nd half but City looked comfortable for the majority, and with a better final ball could have scored a number of goals on the counter. I don't remember Bravo having many saves to make whatsoever, while Otamendi dealt with almost everything in the air United were launching into the box.

Certainly one of the better PL games in recent times. Lots of blood and guts type of action, almost like a good old fashioned derby match.

I think overall City deserved the win, but fair play to Utd for the way they fought back into the match as for the first 40 minutes it was men against boys with City taking the piss. Still think these 2 will form a 1-2 this season - but in what order?

Excellent game that more than lived up to the hype. It reminded me of the old battles against Arsenal in the late '90s.

City were insatiable in the first half, they blew us away. Overall City were much better than us as a team, we came back and made a game through fighting spirit rather than ability. Gutted to lose, obviously, but I feel weirdly satisfied from watching it.

To be honest, United had a good spell at the end of the first half. But City won the game when Pep hooked Ihenacho for Fernando. Took him seven minutes to do what took Mourinho 45 minutes.

1st half was like a cup game. City were miles better than United. As said by many, Mourinho's midfield wasn't good. He especially should know that you must play a defence-shielder (or two) against Guardiola. He decicded to give that task to no one in particular but as soon as he did that, United looked on a par with City.
I like the dimension Stones is taking for a CB. City players were all good tbh apart from the goalie obviously.

You lumped balls into the box 2nd half, City dealt with most of them comfortably. If that's your idea of "piling on the pressure" then you're clearly on a different planet to most of us.

We piled on the pressure and they dealt with it. They aren't mutually exclusive. Behave.

You are the fella that supports Port Vale and Liverpool, right? I'd rather not share a planet with you, thanks.
