I stand by what I said at the start of the season that on paper, (probably bar Jorge Grant) if you compared our signings side by side with County's, you'd have taken all of ours immediately.

No question. Compare the teams on paper and it's probably only Grant, Yates and arguably Forte (could maybe make a case for the full backs as well actually) who would get in from Notts. The difference so far is that I think we have a much more tactically astute manager who is doing fantastic work on the training ground, but it's obviously still very early days.

The thing about this Notts side is that we didn't seemingly need new signings. Hardy and Nolan talked about continuing the late form of last year and it's effectively come off. Mansfield are trying to blend, for us it's been more of the same.

We won't bend over for you like we have done in the past. I still see you as favourites though. You're the home team, have a fantastic record against us and we are due a loss

Mansfields signings were without doubt of superior quality and league experience especially with a manager like Evans who has been successful at Crawley and Rotherham it was a recipe for promotion. Still think Mansfield will go up the season we won the league it wasn't until after Christmas where our quality showed.

I think the difference is we appear to have a unit rather than individuals yes Grants getting the plaudits at the moment but looking at the team players like Collin and Duffy have continued their resurgence under Nolan. The club is a different proposition to in previous years under the new owner who is doing a brilliant job.

In terms of the game I wouldn't want to predict this fixture. This fixture won't decide either teams season it's more about picking points up consistently. Winning the lincoln and Exeter games has taken pressure off somewhat.

They've obviously checked the record books lol. We were underdogs at home vs the mighty Lincoln!? The bookies certainly don't believe it will last

Exactly, I hoped/wanted 5/6 points from these three very tricky looking league fixtures , so to half a dozen before a balls even kicked on Saturday certainly takes the pressure off. I'd take a point now to keep the momentum.

The Luton performance aside where he was unplayable, Angol has been just as ineffective. If it wasn't for that Luton performance and a few that we witnessed in pre-season, Angol would be getting just as much stick as Hemmings. At least we have the option of sending Hemmings back. We're stuck with Angol if he keeps putting in his powderpuff performances of late.

True, he certainly needs to be chasing the defence more.

It's a shame that Butcher hasn't done as much in midfield as hoped.

Congratulations on your 3 points Saturday Notts. I may just stay in the Byron, That c*** Drysdale has somehow been given another one of our games to ref.

Think again Richard, according to the record books we've lost both times Mr Drysdale has officiated a Notts game. He's erratic, which is just what you want for a local derby?! lol
Stags fans should be all over Evs for the double.

Drysdsle being the referee has just made the game 50% harder for Mansfield now.

That man HATES us.

If county don't win this by a mile there's something wrong. We may as well not bother

Yep its renowned throughout football that he loves NCFC, even though we've lost both times he's been in charge of our games, he will do whatever he can to help us out ?!?!?:dk:

Win, lose or draw, we should still be top of the league come 5pm. The last two 'fine' results allows a slip up and our usual defeat at Field Mill. Great start to the season mind thanks to Super Kev :)

I know Drysdale has a rep, but what has he specifically done in Stags games in the past to antagonise you lot so much?

Hemmings has had about 5 games and pretty sure he missed a big chunk of pre season with an injury. I do love that we write our own players off after a handful of games.

Whereas it's not aimed at you, if he's not fit he shouldn't be playing then, should he?

My money is on the cards overs line, and a red card being awarded now that Drysdale is the man in the middle. The smart money is on one of our players getting a red rather than a County player too.

Think ive seen him ref us 7/8 times. He's sent 5 of our players off in that and 3 for the opposition. He's remembered by Stags fans for the most inept performance ever against Mk Dons at home once. He also had another shocker with the help of Amy Fearn v York once.

He also was the ref in that imfamous 13 minutes of injury time against Tranmere - in that time he still managed to send a player off.

If I were a Notts fan reading this, i'd be delighted knowing now that they won't lose.

If Notts lose Adam, should the FA investigate? Sounds very much like some dodgy goings on if the league leaders don't win against 9th placed Mansfield.

I'd be delighted with a draw, ecstatic with a win, disappointed with a defeat.

Amy Fearn! I remember her. I seem to think she got slagged off a lot, someone wrote an article about the abuse she got stemming from her being a women, when in reality, she was just shit.

Like I said its going to be a draw, which will probably suit both at this stage in the season.

Now the return fixture at ML in March in front of 14,000+ with only 6 weeks of the season remaining will be a tad more important if things are similar league position wise.

If Evans has got a one match touchline ban, that's probably just as well with Drysdale in charge. He would be sent off within a few minutes anyway. Drysdale is completely inept but, to be fair, I have seen him give baffling decisions for us as well as against us. It will be a miracle if there are no red cards on Saturday.

Evans' touchline ban won't kick in by tomorrow if he gets one.

He has to be offered the opportunity to go down to London and have a chat with the powers that be before the punishment is handed out I believe....something not done in a fast timescale.

Interesting that we've got Drysdale though, because he's far more likely to get sent to the stands again. Twice on the bounce would equal a lengthy ban surely.....which at the moment would probably help us because Evans would witness the shite football from our point of view......but it wouldn't be good for the food levels in the IGU kiosks.

Last season when Evans had to view from the stands, he was continually shouting instructions at the top of his voice from his seat in the director's box, totally embarrassing.
