I'm allowed to have a critical opinion of my own team. I want them to be better.

You can only sell 90% in total if you sell tickets on the day, EFL rules I think?
Ah, I just assumed it was sold out as an all ticket game not one where tickets were available on the day.

Well frankly we’ve been diabolical of late, and I’m not really bothered if folk have a problem with it.

After the epic choke of last season, we’re in danger of going the same again. 4 points from Northampton away Morecambe home Oldham away and Stevenage home at this time of the season is frankly ridiculous.

If we don’t go up we’ve completely fucked it up and there are literally no excuses.

Didn’t expect this match thread to turn so nasty with insults being thrown around willy nilly.

Still a great chance to reach the 3rd tier of English football folks, stay calm.
We’ve been diabolical and are choking.

But I guess you have zero sympathy at the moment

Not really, we’ve been given 2 successive promotion budgets and could possibly blow it again.

Still, it’s all about getting behind them on Saturday, hoping that the players might actually produce a decent performance for a change when there’s a big crowd and seeing if we can fall over the line.

It could be much worse e.g blowing a budget so hard you’re about to get relegated.

I agree with the last part, I just can’t see us turning up.

I enjoyed that today, I thought early on we showed a little too much respect and didn't make enough of the wind advantage, but stepped up 15-20 minutes in and started to take control of the game, went close on a few occasions and probably should have led at the break.

Second half I expected a better Mansfield and they were, our goal was definitely against the run of play. We tried to see it out, was always going to result in us conceding an equaliser, a dreadful goal to concede bearing in mind the decent defensive display up to that point, although I accept the wind probably played a part! Thought we were more likely to lose than win at that point but Ilias delivered again, the kid has so much talent, been an absolute joy to watch him second half of the season.

Obviously I don't see Mansfield as much as you guys but from what I've seen this season I'd say you're better than MK and more than capable of getting the win next weekend.

As for us, great win, great to be in with a shout, however small next weekend but it's a real shame we didn't get the win last weekend vs Exeter. Ilias Chair delivered again, wasn't his best game today but still produced the cross for the opener and then the winning goal. No chance we keep him or get anyone close to his quality to replace him next season, which is why I find it such a shame that we're likely to miss out on the play-offs. Don't get me wrong we're not as good as the sides in the play-offs, be we're relatively well organised and if you have someone of Chair's quality he could be the difference maker in a tight game.

Oh well, you never know, Newport might slip up vs Oldham and then again vs Morecambe, Exeter might lose at Forest Green, Colchester might slip up vs Lincoln and Carlisle might fail to beat already relegated Yeovil, leaving the path clear for us to beat Cheltenham and claim the last play off spot or maybe not...

I don’t think I’m in a position to be sympathetic seeing as we are about to enter the #abyss and Stags fans are amongst many who have told me it’s not a nice place.

Tbh I’m shocked with your points total in the last half dozen games or so considering the opposition.

Keep the faith, the boys need you to help finish the job and get promotion . Use the spirit of 2001/02

What on earth is Chair doing in league 2? He is absolutely class, one of the best players I have seen this season.

Adam stag has waited all year for this

Tbh surprisingly I’m on Adam’s side here. When you’ve been starved of success as a football fan and basically living on scraps during all your football watching years, it’s only natural that you are pessimistic when things get tight at the business end to the season.

Saying that having a single ‘must not lose’ game versus a side who are out of form themselves and injury ravaged for an automatic promotion place is a great position to be in.

I can think of a lot worse positions to be in going into the last match of the season lol

You deserved to win, but that potential 1v1 we had and got a free kick - did that look like a red to you? Darren Drysdale didn’t even talk to him or give him a yellow :eye:

Was certainly a yellow, not a red.

Maybe him not giving a card made up for the pretty obvious penalty he didn’t give them earlier in his view

He will be in trouble for that if it’s in the report, it was the single worst piece of refereeing I have seen for a long time.

Oh yeah it was a terrible decision, but there looked a Stevenage lad covering, a yellow would have been accurate, him not giving a card was the wrong decision obv

My initial reaction was a yellow, to not even talk to him was bizarre.

I have absolutely no idea why QPR decided to let him go out on loan and when they did why they thought League 2 was the level for him! He should get game time with QPR next season if they're running with a lower budget as suggested.

How he got away without a yellow I'll never know. I actually wondered if the ref had forgotten to book him, as you say he didn't he speak to the player. Baffling decision.

I did apologise later

Fair enough, you could just hate deleted I wouldn’t have noticed haha.

We all get nervous, annoyed and emotional at footy at times and with how we’ve been of late it’s understandable given the players and flitcrofts latest attempt at fucking up promotion

Adam he’s the manager so he’s gotta take the blame but that was our strongest 11 yesterday, it was spot on and the players simply didn’t deliver.

Of course, but they’ve both been responsible of late, the tactics at Northampton were poor, everyone was in agreement grant shouldn’t start at Oldham and did - and looked daft - CJ keeps being played - often in the wrong position and has offered little - the players and the manager are equally responsible.

As a collective it’s time to stop talking a good game and fucking deliver.
